Anyway, changing topics, is this thing gonna be moddable? I seem to remember Original Sin 2 was promoting some sort of toolset and it appears to have a Nexus page, does Larian's platform do mods well, or is it more of a superficial thing?

Strangely enough, it was barely mentioned and I cannot find the exact vid so don't quote me on this but IIRC they intend to provide mod support but for some reasons it much harder for them to deliver (compare to their previous game on this engine) so chances are it will be featured, but probably not on release.

The neverwinter crap, the mmo crap, the dozen other crap games that I didn’t even pay attention to.

I’m sick of it. People don’t play D&D for the voice acting or the graphical experience. It’s a mental theater based on abstractions, not cool graphics and cinematic shots. It should be about the gameplay and not pretenders cutscenes or cameras zooming in on characters while they talk.

This used to be a site that understood that before CONSUME PRODUCT GET EXCITED FOR NEXT PRODUCT became the mantra.

Its the first DnD game based on the 5e ruleset, and from the other 5e games in development (Solasta, Fellowship Saga) it looks like the one least likely to be a trashfire. They have the license to completely adapt the ruleset and not just stick to the OGL parts, and they have the budget.
I really like 5e, and have gone on record saying that it is my favourite ruleset since DnD 2e.

Shame, it's a feature that deserves more attention in this space. Not expecting NWN here, that one was genuinely built as a toolset first and game second, but some proper modding support could make a big difference.
