Late game spoiler.

So they just went ahead and decided to ruin
Sarevok's entire character arc from ToB, if you decide to alignment shift him, huh?

I guess kinda? Yet the outcomes of Baldurs Gate individual player runs were never canon to begin with. The canonized BG2 heroe, Abdel Adrian, traveled with Sarevok for a time because Anchev thought he still could play a cirtical role in fulfilling Alaundo's prophecy.
But alignment shift never was canon. Sarveok became head of the Murder Tribulan in Baldurs Gate and remains to this day. This is not made up by Larian, but pretty much the lore.

That's shit lore then, but then it's more on WOTC and not Larian.

I'm also now continuing Shadowheart's quest and I met
Viconia. I don't like how the game makes me kill my old companions unless I want to play an evil character.

Yes, 100 percent. I don't even know if this was already pinned down by WOTC or still TSR, as the novelization and canonization of the events were written quite early:
  1. Baldur's Gate (July 1999)
  2. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (September 2000)
  3. Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (September 2001)

This is the main hero of the Bhaalspawn-Sage Abdel Arien (it's an old white male, yaaaaay for western civilization):

Everything surrounding Sarevok in BG3 is true according to the ongoing lore of the FR.

ngl wish lilura was posting in this thread

She would just drop her 2.5 as the definitive and KING score and then start getting into verbal slapfights with everyone.

So, basically like any other codexer.
He already did that and called it a reddit game.

He? I thought Lilura was a girl.
There are no women on the internet.
there are but they just pretend to be men

I actually don't mind the little bit I read up on Abdel Adrian, but speaking of which, why can't Larian decide how to treat old characters?

You have Abdel Adrian and everybody tippy toes around him, never calling him by name and never even gendering him. It's just "my old friend" or "the Bhaalspawn". And then you have all the others where the sometimes shit canon is being enforced.

The argument is utter pointless at the end, because for the canonized events of the Bhaalspawn-Saga there was never a chance or reason to take indvidual player choices into account.

Credit where it's due, Eldritch Blast might be the most satisfying to use spell since Skull Storm from Undying.

Could've taken the KOTOR2 approach and let the player define at least some of it
"I heard the Bhaalspawn was a halfling, I heard the Bhaalspawn redeemed Sarevok, I heard the Bhaalspawn settled down on a farm with his companion Saerilith" etc

Yes, the argument in itself is pointless, but for the sake of argument (lol), keeping Sarevok as a relatively neutral character who saw the error of his ways, is narratively a much more rewarding arc then him still running back to being Bhaal's lackey after his travels with Abdel. WotC truly are retarded.

I agree. Make your own iconic villains and stop treading old water.

Until Act 3, the number of bugs is minimal, sometimes you can break a sequence or Gale tries to fuck you a few times, but overall it's more than decent for 2023.
The number of bugs increases drastically in act 3, but I haven't come across anything that would completely ruin the game.
If you don't have pressure, I'd personally wait a month or two until most of the bugs are patched.

If you snap the drow's neck as Dark Urge, where is her body? Can you loot her?

What do you get in return? Seems like a shit deal.

I mean, almost all diplomatic options mean missing out on XP and loot
Not that it matters because there's far too much exp in the game for a 12 cap.

Yep, I will mod something like -20% XP for my second run
I hope that when patch 1 comes out there will be some good mods because so far it's bad.
