That's shit lore then, but then it's more on WOTC and not Larian.

Yes, 100 percent. I don't even know if this was already pinned down by WOTC or still TSR, as the novelization and canonization of the events were written quite early:
  1. Baldur's Gate (July 1999)
  2. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (September 2000)
  3. Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (September 2001)

This is the main hero of the Bhaalspawn-Sage Abdel Arien:

Dungeons-Dragons-Baldurs-Gate-Abdel-Adrian.jpg

Everything surrounding Sarevok in BG3 is true according to the ongoing lore of the FR.

I actually don't mind the little bit I read up on Abdel Adrian, but speaking of which, why can't Larian decide how to treat old characters?

You have Abdel Adrian and everybody tippy toes around him, never calling him by name and never even gendering him. It's just "my old friend" or "the Bhaalspawn". And then you have all the others where the sometimes shit canon is being enforced.
Could've taken the KOTOR2 approach and let the player define at least some of it
"I heard the Bhaalspawn was a halfling, I heard the Bhaalspawn redeemed Sarevok, I heard the Bhaalspawn settled down on a farm with his companion Saerilith" etc
Arguably the best approach, yet used so little

I don't think clerics have been good as anything other than spellcasters in D&D games. In IWD2 you could exorcise a ghost as a cleric, though.

Clearly you've never actually played D&D and especially haven't played 3.5 edition. Clerics with the 3.5E feat bloat became god tier because ALL the restrictions on them from 2E were removed. So they were what in MMOs are commonly known as "Tank Mages".

Wear full plate armor? Check.
Dual Wield Bladed Weapons? Check.
Dual wield TWO HANDED weapons, one handed? Check. (Monkey Grip feat, Oversized Weapons feat)
Cast fireballs and lightning bolts while wearing full plate? Check. (Domain Abilities)
Heal self to full health? Check.

So I can nuke better than the wizard, tank better than the fighter, output rogue levels of damage by dual wielding two handed swords, and then heal myself to full mid battle. Right... definitely not OP at all.

If you snap the drow's neck as Dark Urge, where is her body? Can you loot her?

What do you get in return? Seems like a shit deal.

I mean, almost all diplomatic options mean missing out on XP and loot
Not that it matters because there's far too much exp in the game for a 12 cap.

Yep, I will mod something like -20% XP for my second run
I hope that when patch 1 comes out there will be some good mods because so far it's bad.
This feels really hollow as she's a boss, and you get zilch. Does your butler reward you at least?

In Act 1 I'm feeling underleveled the entire time.

Arcanum for example, has by far better reactivity than BG3, it's less linear, and even the gimmicks like speaking to the dead is implemented much better in it and far more useful - in being a game that makes you feel it reacts to your character and choices, it's still not even close to being surpassed, after all these years.
What Arcanum does better is thematic depth. The world building and the plot and even side quests are all build around a strong core concept that empowers them together and creates something bigger that makes it easy to overlook the game's considerable flaws. Though there are few games of that caliber. Deus Ex, Planescape Torment and then it gets thin.

The argument is utter pointless at the end, because for the canonized events of the Bhaalspawn-Saga there was never a chance or reason to take indvidual player choices into account.

They could've just told WOTC to go fuck themselves, it is a game called "BALDURS GATE 3".

"We're going to not be canon, when it comes to the Bhaalspawn. Deal with it"

It is massive cuckoldry to go with the butchery they did, when you are pretending to continue the storyline somehow.

This so much. No way in hell are there more dnd normies who care about Sarevok lore than people who actually played the games 20 years ago.

You HAVE to become a company advisor.
You're takes a genius and you clearly know how to navigate in a business setting.

I already am. I can guarantee 100% that their contract would've not been violated by "small artistic liberties". They PAID for the license, WOTC execs like free money.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Had to savescum the hell out of my evil playthrough since the chicks try to kill each other over the artifact. If the game actually had any companions on the "evil" side, I would just go with the flow with me failing the persuasion roll. However, I'm already down one which means I have to use one of the lich's ugly undead buddies. I really wish the game had a few more dudes to pick from. The ones you can get from the lich are basically just non-rotting hideously-looking zombies.

Credit where it's due, Eldritch Blast might be the most satisfying to use spell since Skull Storm from Undying.
Only reason I keep that faggot Wyll around. It's especially good once you get some knockback

I wonder why in literally every rpg black is always the most boring character? Is this some kind of requirement?

Lol, like, lmao even.

Combat is completely busted in this game. I unlock the door in the ruins that requires you to click on the candles and i was greeted by a bunch of thieves. I saw there was a mage right next to the door so i snuck there with Astarion, one shot her with a sneak attack, then went into hiding... and none of them saw me. They came around looking for me, used some detect spell, didn't see me, and then it was my turn again.

So i did the same shit with each one of them and cleared the whole room like that. The rest of my party was just doing nothing into the main hall while Astarion basically took out all the thieves by himself. And keep in mind i already made an house rule NOT to save during combat.

This is retarded lol.

It's because retarded SJWs are threating blacks as if they were children, or pets. Wyll is probably the most absurd example of this, as like i said he is written like a character form an 80s morning children cartoon. When he was training the kids i half expected him to say "and that's half the battle".

It really depends on the license, the companies, and the people involved. It is not inconceivable that every asset or serious creative decision had to be reviewed, at least in proof form. I strongly doubt that any decision about canonicity with the old BGs or novels was a serious consideration in any of that stuff, though, because it's doubtful that many people have read the novels. They are much more likely to spend more time on things like whether or not the Beholder (TM) matches the look the brand has been going for, if there are enough penis options, and so on. It would not be surprising if some of the larger FR tropes and things like that had to be checked off (getting the details of the Spellplague or whatever correct) but my guess is that look, feel, and controversy-proofing were all way more important on that front.

Black is a character now? Racists on the codex be wilin.
But seriously, if you think about it, do you remember any good characters?
Seelah, Sosiel, Dynaheir, Rasaad, Ekun
That's all the characters I can name and it's only because I've been playing these games recently. Literally every one of these characters is bland and boring.
