The only marker I got to show I was entering Act 2 was a blink or miss it achievement popup.

At that point, why even bother setting up separate acts?

Also the entire quest in the underdark to

make some adamantine items was so not worth it since at that point you'll likely already have stuff pretty close to what you get out of the forge.

Good for selling and extra exp from killing mobs I guess.
Not exactly, its worth making adamantine armor as it grants you something other pieces dont : Immunity to critical hits.

I ended up picking the 50% extra jumping distance feat at level 4. It is the superior way to move, just like in Morrowind.

I can't believe they let me resurrect the girl's husband, give her the resurrection stick, and say good luck to their future endeavors. And she seems like a plucky retard and is just okay with it. I'm awaiting our next meeting at Baldur's Gate.

Non-Edgy Gamer, since you believe there is some sort of agenda behind my thoughts on what I've heard about the difficulty, I'd be interested to have your opinion on the matter.

I'm undecided on what to do with the owlbear.

No, I don't mean sexually.

I sent the two numbskulls to its cave and followed them inside. The first time around I killed both the owlbear and later the cub. The second time I've pilfered the shrine first, and now I don't know if it makes sense RP-wise to kill the owlbear as well.

Agenda, to me, means I see what you're saying, but don't really agree.

For 99% of their customers, the game will be fine or too difficult. This isn't some niche strategy RPG like KotC or even ToEE.

I don't find the game painfully easy, even on balanced. But there were some no-win situations I easily got out of with a reload or two.

edit: then again, I've only long-rested like 4 times.

How do you find the difficulty though? I haven't had the chance to play enough to form an opinion about it myself yet. I'm just going off what I've read in this thread so far.

Have a foursome with the owlbear and the two numbskulls. Just like Swen would've wanted.

Ahhh man, don't let these european weirdos get into your head and make you start second guessing whether you should slay monsters or not. It's a dang owlbear, they're made by crazy wizards and they eat people! Your job is to *KILL* monsters and get treasure, in that order!!

So I just realized something. They might've changed how admantine armor works.

5e description says you still get hit with the original damage, just not the crit.

This suit of armor is reinforced with adamantine, one of the hardest substances in existence. While you're wearing it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit.

Game description seems to imply that you can't roll crits at all, meaning no auto-succeed on a 20.

Attackers can't land Critical Hits on the wearer.

Which would make the game version much stronger, especially if you slap it on someone with absurdly high AC, like a 29 AC paladin with shield reaction and the only way for certain enemies to hit you, is to roll a nat 20.

I might need to test this.

See my edit. It's fine on balanced the way I play. I assume it would be better on tactician, but I'm saving that for a replay, or for after I am done with the EA portion.

If I rested all the time and actually tried buff-maxing and using all the potions etc...well, it might feel a bit easy. I think I'm playing the way most players would though.

BTW, upon referencing the MM, I see Larian have messed with the Owlbear's properties. In the game it has 90-something HP (maximum dice value is 91 -- 7d10+21), the Monster Manual says average 59. I haven't compared the attribute scores.

Also you can speak with it if you have the ability to speak with animls, but the Owlbear isn't a beast, it's a monstrosity.

I'm wondering about it mainly because it's an unaligned monstrosity, which I'm going out of my way to kill unprovoked. Doesn't sound like something my Paladin would be up for. But on the other hand, there is some XP to be had.

That makes me think, maybe balance is the way to go then. I seem to use up all my mage/healing stuff and such on each fight. I prefer having longer sessions between resting.

This game has 250k players on steam. Welp, that’s it for CRPGs. It’s officially gay.
:butthurt:

It's more than 700k now.

I'd also like to remind everyone that this is the retard who predicted that BG3 wil be "smashed" by Armored Core 6 because it does not "appeal to younger demographics", unlike the sixth entry in a 25 year old mecha game series.
If you thought this would break even 200k you’d be lying. But CRPGs are going the way of fighting games, dumbed down and full of tranny shit.

200k in a few days are numbers classic CRPGs wish they could’ve hit.

You can go there basically the moment you pass Waukeen's rest being level 3, or you can do it like me and exhaust a ton of bonus areas and go there at level 6.
Did the Act 2 achievement bug out for me? I got it way later, after the underdark.

Playing on Normal or whatever the middle difficulty is, the game is challenging but not infuriatingly so. I certainly never had to use barrelmancy to win yet. There are so many options and modifiers one might apply to a fight I could probably find a way around anything the game throws at me. That causes the problem of "Should I be here yet?" though.

Something I failed to realize is that a fight doesn't necessarily draw the entire area to you. I was afraid of starting shit in the goblin camp but it's fine as long as you don't go and push enemies too far away.
