Beat the Spider cave boss, took a couple of tries until I figured out you can just break the webs and she falls and goes prone. Cool fight.
You can shove the spider with Eldritch blast if you take the pushing ability for it, as a warlock

Act 1 is the best part of the game, it has so many secrets, dialogues, reactivity and encounters. It's such a pity this quality doesn't follow throughout the entire game.

its full of so many silly things you can do. My favorite is blowing up the creche with the laser beam or just torturing that prisoner at the goblin camp for no reason

It already took 6 years to develop BG3 and 1 year of patches to get rid of all the bugs too, need to stay realistic and can't expect the scope of act 1 for every act or you'd be waiting 10+ years for a game...

But maybe now that Larian expanded the studio by hundreds they're able to deliver consistent depth and quality...

Easiest boss in the game
Very cool fight and arena, though.
If only they could refrain from resorting to their trademark cheese. Alas, Swen wanted his level design to be inteructiv

He is an underrail fanboy who likes 0 interactivity, repetitive environments and non existent reactivity. These people are beyond redemption, they will eat shit and pretend it's the best.

I think the design of the encounter is excellent, the issue is that consistently puts herself in situations where she can easily be knocked off the cliffs. Standing on her webs aside, she also often stands on the edge of the cliffs, or otherwise doesn't take care for push effects.

I also don't buy at all that falling damage should really affect her significantly, ok she's big but she's a fucking spider. She should be able to put out a dragline or whatever you call that thing that spiders do. Or have many nets already created down there that she can fall into.

She also needs more HP because she's not very tough.

So yeah a cool fight but too easy, anticlimactic even due to how easy it is.

You could say that about so many fights in BG3 actually

Honor mode is easy, but the game is fun so it's okay.

pretty much.. they tried doing way too much as well, the last act didn't even seem finished. It would have been better if they didn't pander to old character fan service in the last act and just focused on the story they came up with. Also just make the game shorter by 10-20 hours and finish the content you have.. I think DOS, DOS2 and this one I was mindlessly rushing the end to get it over with - it wasn't the case in the earlier acts, therefore if you can't write compelling shit please don't make 100 hour long slog filled game for the sake of retard where's my 100 hour value?. There's also nothing stopping a developer making expansions and DLC if the megabucks roll in to flesh out more of the game.

Same with the green barbarian race in the game, they have a massive city with virtually no content in it.. why?

I admire your concern for realism in a trick fantasy encounter with a giant spider matriarch.

That's not my point, my point is it's a cheap way to kill what should be a fucking scary boss

I mean Honor makes very little difference, her legendary action is easily worked around.

90h in, still in Act 1, going through the Mountain Pass. I like the game so far, don't get all the hate it gets on the Codex. Sure, the amount of women who try to boss you around is a little bit too high for my taste, but fortunately you can kill or punish most of them appropriately. Three things I appreciate the most about this game:
- all the reactivity & attention to detail, impressive
- hand-crafted encounter design, ZERO trash mob fights so far, almost unheard of. Owlcat or Sawyer could learn something here
- combat is actually fun

For some reason I feel that most of the 'good' parts are already over, but let's see how it goes.
