I still think RNG is fucked somewhere. I seen to many low/high/similar numbers streams. Like whole company roll in similar range for two turns. Or enemy suddenly hitting all low rolls.
So statistically it can be that it could look right but in game this kind of streaks just fuck everything.
More like Random Streak Number Genrator than RNG.
20 attacks with 70+ hit chance in turn. One hit. Oh come on.

Also with backgrounds. No background X in the entire map, then after Y days all of a sudden background X popping up everywhere, and so on. I also get the feeling that the RNG they use tends to clump together similar results.

other question. what are consequences of attacking and winning another mercenary band?
i saw it.. everyone is hostile... is there a way to attack another mercenary and not gain hostile status

It depends on who - if anybody - hired the mercenaries.

If they're not hired by a faction or settlement, you can attack them without risk.

Noble mail is the best non-famed light armor.
As far as villages go, I always refuse to help them if brigands are about to attack and then if the puppy & little kiddo event procs I just cannot bring myself to abandon them, so I accept the quest and save them. Yeah, that's the kind of guy I am, girls.

Just the basic mail shirt and any -5 helmet, or the zweihander helmet if you've got it. If you don't mind using up your crafted attachments on crappy gear, leather armour is probably slightly better.

I grew my cult slowly, the way I imagined a real cult would do. One by one, convert the followers and show them some of the benefits via monk debate and/or jolly good team building and drinking.

Then skin one alive, put him over a fire, and ululate wildly while he sizzles -- inhaling the great life essence that seeps out from him .

I mean, lets go kill those nachtzerers bros.
