Really, the only good time travel stories I've read kept the actual time travel relatively simple and straight-forward (i.e. The City on the Edge of Forever, and even that runs into fairly basic plot holes almost immediately). Try and make it too complex and you'll immediately start running into problems, inconsistencies, and other assorted issues.

Wouldn't getting the National Geographic channel be cheaper in that case?

It's more like walking around Disney World, which is expensive. Though I of course take your point. If you don't masturbate furiously with excitement about walking around neat places this is not the game for you.

I do :bounce:

The game was super easy in 1999 mode until the Mr. Handymen or something. I... these things keep killing me and I don't think I'm even damaging them.

Someone should make adventure games in Bioshock settings. So much good artwork and sets going to waste for some mediocre shooter.

After watching some LP's this game looks like it was written by 10 year olds. Seriously, does anyone playing this even realize how juvenile this shit is?

Their target audience doesn't read stuff. Just pew pew, get achievement and win the game. Then off to next game.

Remember, Fallout 3 had awesome and deep writing. Nothing can be worse than calling Fallout 3's writing that.

You haven't played normal mode so I'm not sure how well you can answer, but anything different about 1999 except enemies have more hp? I don't understand what's supposed to be different about it.
Levine was saying stuff about 'having to make permanent choices' etc. but it's not like I can trade in Cyber Plas Vigors on Hard either.

Yeah, but I've seen some heinous shit so far. Private eye circa 1912 rides a boat to a capsule that launches him into the clouds, where he finds a city. Of course he's just "passing through" since this shit's just another walk in the park. No big deal. because giant Greek statues of the Ben Franklin are there to greet him with a friendly hello while gospel music plays. The most realistic part is how the first 50 people the protagonist meets is a religious zealot, since that's how towns work. Also, it's pretty cool how the devs saved money by using the same 5 character models for everyone. Truly I am awe stricken to the point of gross sobriety.

:flamesaw:

Edit: Prosper's Funhouse exhibits better writing than this popaturd.

Reading RPS's Alec Meer praise the ridiculous baseball scene made me want to grit my teeth. And as usual, Josh knows the score.

Josh Sawyer said:
it gives me second hand embarrassment that games press is so quick to hand out lavish praise to any game that has overlap with film cliche
film critics think the dark knight and the dark knight rises were amazing films so that's not so surprising.
