Will you back Black Geyser DLC Kickstarter? I intend to give them 25$, the more Baldur's Gate-like RPG the better to me, especially from a clearly passionate team like this

Ho there, adventurers!

First of all, we are truly happy to announce that
Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is now available in Brazilian Portuguese! Our eternal thanks goes to Edson Belo de Oliveira Júnior (@mundonasher) for the Brazilian localization of the game. This translation wouldn't have been possible without his highly professional work method and selfless dedication to the project.

Regarding the future of Black Geyser and the developer team, THANK YOU so much for providing truly valuable feedback in our the Google survey (it will remain open for some more time). Based on the results of the survey, we have decided to organize a Kickstarter campaign for the DLC in the near future. We also managed to secure the required minimum budget for organizing such a campaign. For more details on the planned DLC, see this post.

If the Kickstarter is successful, our team will be able to stay together and create a DLC for the game. In this case, a free fixpack will also be developed for the base game, which will be delivered as a free regular update to all owners of the game (you won't need to own the DLC to receive this update). Even though we call it a fixpack, it will contain new features and important QoL improvements as well (check out this post for the complete list).

Since a successful Kickstarter campaign for the DLC enables the Black Geyser team to stay afloat, it will also allow us to plan a Black Geyser sequel in details and launch another Kickstarter later to fund its development. Sadly, if the DLC Kickstarter fails, our studio will most likely be forced to shut down.

We will inform you as soon as we have more details to share about the upcoming Kickstarter. This update should happen within two weeks.

Mac & Linux: For technical reasons (such as Apple's notarization process), the current update with the PT-BR localization for Mac and Linux will go live after a couple of days. Thank you for your patience.

Kickstarter Coming Soon For Expansion Pack

Greetings, adventurers!

We are happy to announce that that we are going to launch a Kickstarter campaign very soon (early October) to fund the DLC's development - its Coming Soon page is already live on Kickstarter!

We encourage you to subscribe to its launch notification on the Coming Soon page. Your subscription (the number of subscribers) will help us a lot in the planning of the campaign, including the stretch goals. If you're an existing backer already having the DLC add-on, you will be offered another cool reward in the DLC Kickstarter (for any pledges that normally give the DLC), so we've got covered here. Of course, you can still choose to get a second copy of the DLC instead, if you prefer.

If the Kickstarter campaign is successful, our studio won't be forced to close, and the DLC is expected to arrive before August 2024.

You can check out this forum post for more details on the DLC and its associated Fixpack. We want to emphasize that this Fixpack will be a free Steam/GOG update to all owners of the base game, so you won't need to purchase the DLC to get it.

A teleport spell would be handy now...

Backers of our previous Kickstarter campaign who haven't received their physical rewards yet (game box, lorebook etc.) will receive all items well before the start of the DLC campaign, as all shipping will be completed before the end of September.

Thank you for your support and be sure to join us on Discord, or across social media, to let us know your thoughts.

7d8007571c9d7e13da18dc565547be4bd211b5f1.png

Ho there, adventurers!

The Kickstarter campaign for
Tales the Moon Cult
is launching on
17th October
(next Tuesday)!

We're still working on some features of the campaign. If you plan to support us, please help our planning by clicking the
"Notify me on launch"
button on its Kickstarter page.

If the upcoming Kickstarter campaign is successful, our studio will not have to shut down. In this case, the launch of the Tales of the Moon Cult expansion (DLC) is expectable before August 2024.

The DLC introduces brand-new areas with new content and a
major questline focusing on the Zoria Cult and their answer to the corruption of greed affecting the world
. Some of the planned features for the free Fixpack are as follows:

  • Dual wielding for Warrior and Outlaw classes
  • Strongholds
  • Travel to quest giver directly from journal UI (one loading screen)
  • Already known recipes are marked in shop UI
  • Steam Cloud Save (GOG is already supported)
  • GOG Achievements
  • Item descriptions display which classes can use the item
  • Full personal questline for Helgenhar
  • Expanded romance lines (planned stretch goal)
  • Two brand-new companions (planned high stretch goal)
  • A brand-new character class (planned high stretch goal)
  • Companion-specific epilogue (planned stretch goal)
  • More love for unarmed combat (planned stretch goal)
  • Craft a golem who will fight on your side (planned high stretch goal)
  • Shapeshifting for druids and as spells (planned stretch goal)
  • Improved modding support (planned stretch goal)

Should you have any questions or comments, you can share them here on Steam, on our forums and social media, or directly on our Discord channels.

This game is too easy to be fun, even on hardest diff i find myself left-clicking 90% of the mobs

If they increased the difficulty I would buy the game and the DLC. That apparently will never happen though. Such a shame and waste of potential.

Still haven't played it but I'm eyeing it up for my CRPG between now and Rogue Trader. Need to see what they'll announce with the campaign but most likely I will back it.

said it several times already, people familiar with IE games need to play on courier and will have a decent challenge in last chapter vs Septhys and some fights in castle Alastor.
DLCs tend to offer more challenging fights, think of Bg1 for example. Modding is also a stretch goal in KS i believe.

You shouldn't have to wait until the final chapter of a game to finally get some challenge. That's not a good compromise here.

memo to myself:

1) post in BG3 thread complaining about it being pisseasy even though i never played let alone finished it
2) praise BG1's difficulty saying how it's fun being oneshot by an ankheg
3) proud myself how i'm helping indie companies by buying their games then shitting on them all over the internet
4) wondering why nowadays there's only 1man companies developping rpgs with pixel art or AAA titles where 1/3 you fight the camera, 1/3 you listen to npc blabber/cutscenes and 1/3 you deal with turnbased party rpg combat that feels like battles last an eternity (while simulatenously having to deal with overloaded UI-s)

so much to do, much to do

Another bad thing is about this game is economy, i had 10k monnies after scavenging first town without doing any side quests why would I increase greed meter for 600gp when i can loot some random chests a get more money that i ever spend anyway nerf money gain like 10x maybe then interacting with main mechanic would make sense i encountered some bugs too i had items that i couldnt loot i would click on them, and they would disappear for a moment and then return to corpse I don't know if this happens every time but after killing monsters outside my fov, they were T posing when i came closer

Loading time are still horrendous 5-10 second of waiting between locations and there are a lot of small spaces like houses so i spend 5 s waiting to enter house loot 2 chests or talk to one NPC then another 5s to leave the house and go to next building repeat it 10x per map F

Cvilidreta them being indie doesn't exclude them from criticism, and almost every person who has played it and posted in this thread has noted the lack of difficulty. That's not even including elsewhere on the Internet. Not to mention the developers didn't even bother to stick around here to gather valid criticism to improve their game with, instead - I believe - leaving in a huff never to return for some reason I can't even recall.

It's a simple request for a supposed old-school crpg to provide decent challenge throughout sans cheesing. Sunri just provided another solid example above about how the difficulty was yet again botched, with the game economy being completely out of wack, which also trivializes what was supposed to be the key innovative mechanic the game was bringing to the table. I get wanting to support indie devs who have good intentions, but blindly tossing money to them simply because they're indie isn't going to make better games for the future. They have a lot of feedback from this very thread they could have used to improve their game even while it was still on early access that they chose to completely ignore, and continue to ignore.

And for the record, I did buy the game when it left early access, only to feel the need to refund it because it felt lacking most importantly in the difficulty department, but in other areas as well.

meh, i just sold ring of wizardry at friendly arm inn in BG1 for 9k, economy sucks won't play that shit evah again... hell, i've got 125K in chapter 6 in BG2 after letting the smitty assemble all of the greatest weapons and after buying every freaking item from the best vendors in athkatkla, man i think economy in BG2 sucks, in fact BG2 sucks wont play that shit evah again.. i even had to cluaconsole that idiot Saemon in Brynnlaw and Desharik wouldn't talk to me so i robbed his entire place while he just stood there, bugs bugs i hate that BAH!
What's up with those devs lately, we are polite here, we never mock their games and don't shit on them why are they only replying on discord or their official forum or on GOG and Steam, pfft!! Well, we surely brought lots of good things to their attention here, but they don't put that into the game, are they stupid or what ?? I mean they drive ferraris, have all the money in the world and the manpowah...
Oh wait, they did add money sink like costs for assembling the vineyard bow after a fan's suggestion who simply mailed the idea to them.
Ahhh yessss greed, it isn't really where it should have been, thank god Sunri mentioned that, i never would have figured that out, oh wait Lady Error mentioned that in her review... hey, i just noticed that in the area which Sunri posted, you can get a unique armour by being greedy, don't mind that, doesn't fit the narrative...
ahh yess those loading times, BG3 is muchbetter here, only 15-20 secs to load area, dadda boy!
