Off topic: How many millions will Mr. Shitface siphon from Sony in relation to the Grim Fandango remake?

Mr. Shitface, bring me a game
Like old adventures, but puzzles are lame.
When people complain, just get all snarky
And say that you're against the patriarchy!

Mr. Shitface is so ambivalent. Once he was a great developer and created a few masterpieces. Now he is vapourware quack who sucks money from credulous simpletons. But still I can't hate Mr. Shitface, because Kickstarter incline wouldn't be possible without his great vapourware scheme.

:nocountryforshitposters:

Most of the better games we've got in the last couple of years were in production before DF did their thing with kikestarter.

Of course, if you idea of incline means half-assed jobs and "meh" titles, then that's fine. Or maybe you were a big fan of the Ouya and Occulus Rift.

My only hopes right now to prove kickstarter are Satellite Reign and Armikrog.

You seem pretty upset BRO. Did Mr. Shitface rape and murder your family or something?

No. I'm just wondering what are the terms between Sony and DF.

I would not be surprised if this remake will be postponed to 2016 and so on.

Edit. Actually I see that the correct term is "remastered" and there is no release date as of yet.

No Wasteland 2, more simpler Divinity OS, no Project Eternity, no Torment 2, no Shadowrun, god knows if we would have got Quest for Infamy, god knows if Elite would ever seen the day of light. So do you know what are you talking about or are you just trying to be edgy? So let me fix your post a little:

Did you miss the part about "half-assed jobs"?

Of course, if you idea of incline means half-assed jobs and "meh" titles, then that's fine.

I'm still way more interested in the projects that had nothing to do with kickstarter to begin with, or only used it for some extra money. Div OS, Age of Decadence, MMX, Underrail, Stasis if you count that Pyke would've ultimately end up finishing it without KS. Paper Sorcerer, FTL. Stuff that doesn't just promise an idealistic game without any working prototype that turns into a sorta meh thing in the end.

Really, incline implies to me more than "oh we get 2/3 extra slightly average titles with isometric perspective and turn-based combat, at least it's not Skyrim". It implies moving forward the medium, which I don't feel it really happened with any big KS RPG other than Div OS arguably.

Wasteland 2 is an okay game, I'm playing through it right now. I heard it gets better later but right now, it personally ranks lower than FO1 and 2, a bit lower than FOT and much lower than Wasteland 1. The hype brought by the campaign itself didn't help. I refuse to call incline something that's inferior to its predecessors.

Seriously, what the fuck takes so long to produce some shitty borderline iOS 'adventure' game?

'borderline iOS 'adventure' game', hardly 'borderline'. This thing SHOULD have been sold as some sort of 'interactive picturebook' on iOS for a couple of bucks, because that's what it fucking is! The fact that this turd got such high scores and general praise is proof plenty that gaming journalism is completely FUCKED!:D I mean, say what you will about WL2, D:OS or SR:R, none of them failed to deliver this badly, not even close. 'A classic point 'n' click adventure with a whole bunch of awesome PUZZLES'!:D Tim Schaefer's a lying fat sack of shit and 'Broken Age' is his asshole vanity project!

So, what are those great games we got without kickstarter? Div OS: Kickstartered. And although it would have been released without a KS, it would have been a much shallower game. Age of Decadence: Vaporware (I don't care about early access). MMX: OK, nothing special, especially if you think Wasteland 2 is just an OK game. MMX is nothing more than an OK game. Underrail, again, just OK. Stasis, still not released. FTL, kickstartered. Blackguard: kickstartered. Expeditions: kickstartered. And it is sure as hell that the kickstarter money helped to make these games better, even if the development started before the KS.

Sure, we would get good games without KS, but saying that Schafer's involvement with the popularity of KS means nothing is stupid.

Might and Magic X was not Kickstarter.

Nobody claimed that it was. Still, a man who describes Underrail as "just OK", and claims that Blackguards was kickstarted is either a troll or an idiot.

:negative:please J_C, for the love of god, stop having such shit taste.

Anyway, my point was that "incline" more or less happened whether or not Tim came in with his little scam. If anything, it's Minecraft that popularized the concept of crowdfunding games. DFA just made a couple of Amazon empty suits richer. Good games were still going to be made whether or not kickstarter became a thing.

Having 4 good games a year (without kickstarter) or 8 (with kickstarter)? Which is better and why? I don't know about you, but I like more good games than less. Let me quote myself:
Sure, we would get good games without KS, but saying that Schafer's involvement with the popularity of KS means nothing is stupid.
And sorry if my shit taste doesn't hold Underrail as the holy grail. Nice game, but it didn't get me. I loved Shadowrun Dragonfall on the other hand, which is fully kickstartered. And I like that games like Divinity, Expeditions and some others were made better with the kickstarter money.

Basically.

He has been jerking around his fans for a long time, finally decides to give them what they wanted, everybody simply throws heaps of money at him, and he just delivers some popamole iOS bullshit. The word scam and conman gets thrown around a lot, but this is pretty much it.

Not knowing what he is talking about is kind of his shtick at this point.
