Their HDR tonemapper in this game is pretty dogshit. Might have to downgrade to SDR.

More context about that quote from Adam smasher: He's literally saying that to a thot.

first impressions is, you gonna need a current CPU to play this game. I got a 4790k, 8GB of RAM, 1080Ti, running off a SSD on medium settings and still got a lot of skips/stutters. Granted I was trying to stream the game, performance may be a bit better without that and if you have more RAM, but game was nearly unplayable during high action sequences. Unkillable NPCs are cancer because unlike Skyrim they don't even react if you toss grenades at them and if you try to run them over your car will slow down automatically until outright forcing you to leave the vehicle. Lot of bugs in the first few hours too, but the majority did seem to be visual in nature except for a certain boxing subquest at the very beginning of the game, I initiated the fight and suddenly the opponent kinda fell over and I don't think I completed the quest properly but whatever. Awful lot of dialogue in the beginning too and they don't really let you 'off the leash' until about an hour and a half into the game. Oh and people were right about the character creator, you don't really get to be white at all, there's only one shade of white and it looks more Asian than white. I'm a mulatto boy, I like to make my charas like a very light tan to reflect that but there's not an option for that.

still, it's got potential. Don't know if it's got potential to be a good RPG, but it's got potential to be a fun game. The gunplay is neat and if you're using melee it's easy to cut off limbs/heads and stuff which is nice. Driving physics are horrible though but I also can't drive very well on a keyboard so that's on me I think.

Let's assume for a moment you could make a lilywhite caucasian. Then more than 50% of screenshots circling the net would feature main characters of that nature.

Conclusion according to progressives: Game lacks "representation", is racist for giving people the option to make lilywhite caucasians.
.

i have zero concern about that, fuck all that whining about representation. I just want to make the character that I wanna make. Bad enough that half the hairstyles are that weird modern 'shaved on sides hair on top' look and the other half are too bland, the least I could get is the skin color I want. I don't even want pasty ass white boy skin color, I just want a slight tan.

Why more character creators don't just do RGB/color wheels for everything including skin color nowadays is beyond me.

The Witcher 3 didn't top 50 million, that was the entire Witcher Franchise. I mean, TW3 did sell well. But they're a long ways away from GTAV (something like 135 million sales of that title alone; the entire GTA franchise is upwards of 200 million copies).

As far as topping The Witcher 3 (28 million sold) they have a shot. I would hazard a guess that between pre-orders and first-day sales, they're at least at 12 million, maybe in the 16-20 million range -- there are some sources we don't get data for, I believe these numbers are not counting the Epic store or Stadia but I'm not sure. Factor in the eventual release of an upgraded version for next gen consoles, and I could see them clearing 28 million easily.
Whatever the case, if 30 million or 50 million, Witcher 3 created multitudes of revenue compared to 1 or 2, and 70% of that is from console Sales. I think the first doesn't even enter the equation when you compare them: https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/the-witcher-franchise-sales-revealed.120906/

Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't supposed to do Witcher 3 numbers (or likely a lot less, I don't know where you got 12 million or 16-20 million range from suddenly). The console versions of the game (where Witcher 3 made 70% of its Launch Sales with ~115 million PS4 and ~50 million XBone consoles now out there) are completely broken, to the point that they didn't allow any Pre-Release reviews for consoles and they're all yet to come, this is a huge mess and PR blunder for them:
https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/cyberpunk-2077
https://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/cyberpunk-2077

Only one console review is listed so far, a 35% from a French site: https://www.jeuxvideo.com/test/1338...-ps4-et-xbox-one-fat-a-eviter-a-tout-prix.htm

It also impacts their upcoming Online Mode, because the reception of the main game will have a huge impact on that too, and they specifically said they wanted to follow "Rockstar's model": https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2016-04-27-cd-projekt-games-will-follow-the-rockstar-model
The Witcher is not Grand Theft Auto, of course, but after 2015 CD Projekt's balance sheet is, in Iwinski's words, "not too shabby." The company's next game, Cyberpunk, will show the benefit of those extra resources, "more ambitious on every single front, in the development and on the marketing side." And if Cyberpunk shows similar growth to The Witcher 3, then maybe Bethesda's seat - if not Rockstar's - at the top table really will be under pressure.

"For us, it's never about money," Iwinski says. "Yes, we deliver results, but we always explain to our investors that we have a long-term perspective. They shouldn't expect us to annualise, or suddenly start releasing games just because there's a business opportunity. Fundamentally, The Witcher 3 has proven that... and right now we have a lot of credit, so we should use that and take the time to make Cyberpunk something really meaningful for the whole industry. It has to reach the next quality bar, and I'm not talking just for us, but for the market.

"If we look at our role models, what Rockstar is doing is amazing. It's not like, 'We have to ship a game or we may not hit our financial goals.' It's, 'Here's GTA V, and by the way, it's the best game ever made.' We're all looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2 because we know they'll show something and we'll be like, 'Oh my god.'

"But we still have to get there. We have to prove it. The Witcher 3 is a good example, but we have to keep on delivering."

Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be CDProjekt's GTA V with an upcoming Multiplayer Live Service Mode with Microtransactions, not a budget Witcher 3: https://www.pcgamesn.com/cyberpunk-2077/multiplayer-microtransactions

They did it all wrong though, I don't know why they thought they had to release on all platforms at once instead of concentrating on getting one right and then taking their time to do the others justice. Both Todd with his Skyrim ports and Rockstar did this right commercially:

What's the Film Grain setting for?
Pure aesthetics and to feel like you're in a movie. That was one of the first things I turned off.
No, I meant in relation to AwesomeButton's earlier post, not the game effect (I also hate that). The Image Sharpening option in the nVidia Control Panel has two options, Sharpen, which is the strength of the filter applied, and an Ignore Film Grain, which I'm guessing is the amount of "noise" it will tolerate in the frame, since you don't want it applied to things like aliasing "jaggies" to sharpen them further. But I wanted to confirm what that would translate to on-screen.

Sniper headshots are alright due to high hs multiplier, and shotguns throw people around in hilarious ways... But my most damaging weapon is still some hammer I found and upgraded a bunch of times. Does like 300% of the dps of my guns.

Just buy dildo dude, it's pack a punch, I'm serious. It's a cyberpunk after all.

V is such a shit protagonist honestly. it's like once again cdpr gave you the worst of two worlds. V is voiced and has a predetermined personality and past so you can't use the power of your imagination and autism to self project into him.
but his personality is just so bland that he makes a boring and non interesting character. he is always either angry, sad or sarcastic and always 100% edgy. what else can you say about V? i guess he wants to become rich in night city and swears a lot.

The amount of
Writin' like this is the perfect complement to whatever 'Serious & Refined' narrative people like to go on about appreciating. It's kinda funny, but this edginess is what puts the Punk in Cyberpunk.

Also from what I've seen there's multiple hours of dialogue cutscenes and controlled combat instances you have to go through before actually being able to play freely. Makes me think this game would be served by having a "Skip-Prologue" option that lets you bypass the life-path intro and everything up until you wake up with Keanu in your apartment.

Incorrect. In my current corpo playthrough, I was pretty much immediately able to do whatever I wanted to after an hour. The city literally opens up right in the beginning and you don't need to do the Relic Heist before exploring the city.

I'm not sure what benefit stealth perks are when you're going to be in all out warfare soon enough, so I might restart the game with a different origin and go with a commando style character.

I think it's for infiltrating on mission site via different route for preparing a place for a fight to make it somehow easoier or completely skip number of foes.
I think I seen that in main questline on stream.
ALso probably to obtain more lore - you know, infiltrate and hack things that used in game as smrtphones, lptopes and such.
So if you interested in lore, I think stealth is a must. Or maybe you could just struck everyone's head with dildo and be fine. :hahano:

What's the Film Grain setting for? Threshold so you don't sharpen aliasing artifacts? I applied your suggestion but went with DeepOcean's recommended setting for 0.30 Film Grain, and I do feel like it's improved the picture, cut some of the DLSS fog, but I didn't take screenshots for side-by-side comparison.
The game has a film grain effect, you can shut it down on the game but when you use the Nvidia Panel, the settings in there override the ones on the game. So, if you wish to change sharpness, you will have film grain enabled as default and the result is an awful image if you go for more agressive sharpness. It seems that sharpness also sharpen the film grain effect creating alot of visual noise, the ignore film grain option tells the game to ignore the film grain bs. I have an agressive 0.80 sharpness and 0.3 ignore film grain and it works for me. The image doesnt look that blurry anymore for me.

It's either gun blazing or blade slashing. You can't even get good hacking related equipment from looting.

I wonder how you can finish the game "without killing anyone" like CDPR claimed. There are so many scripted scene where you straight up murder people.

Car driving is also shit, wonder if there will be a auto drive function in the late game. Currently I prefer fast travel and running with my foot.

V is like geralt, a premade character with a strong personality and you can't really role play for shit. Open world design didn't really work well with the heavily scripted narration. For example, V and Keanu's relationship was progressed through main quest, but when you running around and doing side quest they suddenly becoming buddy buddy despite the fact that you haven't do any main quest yet.

On the bright side, I think night city is the best city ever created in gaming history.

:hmmm:
Soooo my gog install files are 100gb big.....but the installed game is 61 gb. What kind of dark polish magic is this?

I guess installation file had all language voiceover, and your game only 1 or 2 languages.
