cdpr got mad at potato people getting constantly banned at their forums(wild cycle of critical posts getting hidden/banned and new, more critical ones reposted). Admins removed option for registering new users on their forum. Turns up its somehow connected and they removed same option for gog too

A playable beta of Cyberpunk 2077 has been discovered on the ps4 physical copy.

The version of Cyberpunk 2077 located on every physical copy of the game is from late September of 2020, over two months before the release date. Thanks, in part to the insanely rushed final months of development, it's bursting with cut content that was removed at the last minute in a dash to make the build run on last-gen consoles. The best part? Anyone can play it, right now.

The UX changes are interesting but I don't foresee any major cut content coming out of the late September build of the game but who knows with this game.

another complaint: you can just spam healing items
this is something they specifically prevented in Witcher 3 with toxicity, you had to be careful with potion usage and they had limited charges that had to be refilled while meditating.
Not so in cyberpunk, you can just spam healing inhalers all day long and they're plentiful and everywhere.
Is the game worth playing, and is it better than GTA5 at least?

never played gta5

They did the basic gameplay loop well which is about all I can say. Other than that... meh.

Very interesting, but how could this happen? Did they burn these versions last year before Sony took the game from the store? Or is this some way a sneaky developer wanted to get the cut stuff out there to be found? Because this reminds me of Bloodlines: Most of its content is packed into vpk archives and weird enough, almost all the unfinished content ended up in one archive that they probably wouldn't have needed to include...

It has a lot more going for it gameplaywise than GTA V, but whether or not that's likeable in the big picture, is another story. You can play it almost like stealthy Deus Ex for the most part of the existing content, but it does force you into battles that you are hard pressed to win without proper gun skills.

I'd say so, but I didn't like GTA V, got bored after a few heists. Aside from the second-rate Tarantino knockoff there's really not that much to it.

Yeah, the stealth gameplay is okay-ish, but the mission design just isn't there to fully capitalise on it. In and out, five minutes, and then drive around for the next mandatory phone call or obligatory Heartfelt Cinematic Moment™.

The stealth play in CP2077 is ultimately nearly pointless because of the two facts that:

- it is a trivial matter to deck your character out to be a master in stealth, nearly undetectable in nearly every situation

and

- it is impossible for all the enemies in any one combat zone to vector to your location once you are detected, either involuntarily or voluntarily

You almost have to just say, "fuck it," and pop out of stealth and go on a shooting spree to make any of the missions interesting after a certain point in the game.

And no, I don't think increasing the difficulty of the game past 'normal' is a viable solution, because as we all know that does nothing more than increase bullet sponginess.

If turning the difficulty up resulted in a legitimate increase in the combat capabilities of your enemies in CP2077 then I'd definitely do it.

Alas.

In my case I didn't even bother with stealth, I just decked all my gear out with armour upgrades and tanked everything.

Became unkillable pretty early on.

This was on hard mode iirc.

Uh, No?

I mean its not complicated or difficult to remain undetected, but you still have to pay attention and zero enemies about to notice you real fast. Once enemies are alerted, its often not easy to return to effective stealth. And use silenced weapons, preferably revolvers. Which don't have great scopes, so you end up fighting in mid to close range.
Sniper rifles won't cut it, they are too loud.

- it is impossible for all the enemies in any one combat zone to vector to your location once you are detected, either involuntarily or voluntarily

Again, how about no?
In buildings, the architecture and obstacles pose a problem, enemies cannot easily navigate to your location, plus they often try to stay in cover. And its an issue that with tech guns and ping you can shoot them in their heads trough 3 floors and 2 walls (not noiselessly, though).
However in more open areas, most enemies WILL close in on you.

If you've kept to that stealth and picked the relevant perks, you wouldn't need to worry about that sponginess....

Speaking of stealth, something that really irks me about it, in as much as Ping + Tag is a component, is the visual effect on tagged NPCs. If it were just an outline it would be fine, but fully covering the NPC with a flat pattern in conjunction with the very cluttered level visuals sometimes makes it very difficult to tell whether the NPC is in one room or the next.

I'd prefer a flat, 2D "flag" of sorts. Learning an enemy spatial location should not allow you to precision aim headshots FFS (at least not without supporting visual feed - from cameras or hacked enemies).

Yeah, I think that could work well too, it would improve navigation while nerfing the w411h4x weapons at the same time.

Obviously, the best solution would be the DX approach, X-ray vision with active energy consumption, but then that could be said for most everything in this game.
