I'm not saying it's amazing, I'm just saying most RPGs - even good ones - don't do that stuff much better. And I recall it being a main point of criticism here. when there is so much other stuff that works way more poorly
Yeah, but it's better to remove non-critical features that you can't properly flesh out rather than retaining them as gimmicks.

EDIT: Turning off cross-platform saving fixed it. Why is that even enabled by default

Lol, apparantly this is still a thing and I'm near hitting (my saves and loads are exceptionally slow) even though I haven't used any crafting exploits - just crafted a ton of shit to get my crafting XP (and I'm still only level 14):

https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kfpwt5/psa_steampc_crossing_about_6_mb_in_your_save/

broken game is broken. Supposedly gone with 1.6 but seeing as my saving and loading is shot to shit I don't trust it. Is there a fix?

Yeah, the final episode felt really "Trigger" to me and kind of weak.
Sure it's more bitter sweet and has some dramatic moments (but nowhere near the level of Episode 6), but that whole cyberskeleton thing really jumped the shark and really no different from their over the top giant robot ending.
I dunno, the show felt weaker after the time skip. How they covered David falling to cyberpsychosis was neat though.
Trigger didn't even write that. CDPR did. CDPR wrote all the major story beats and Trigger rewrote everything in between to make it more "anime"

CDPR wrote in a magic gravity defying exosuit that causes blues brothers shenanigans?
Didn't think they had it in them but ok.

Has there been a new patch or something? or is it just the shitty Japanese pornographic cartoons?
Latest patch added some neat token stuff like being able to save outfits (i.e. transmogs). Don't recall how long ago it released tho, so dunno if you're already familiar with that one.

I haven't played it since launch, and didn't get too far into it really. Was hoping for some new quests. Might give the Auntmay a watch though.
There have been some new quests (& freebie DLCs) added since release. Also, among other things, a few more apartments for V.

On an unrelated note, seeing how the anime deals with cyberpsychosis, question for other 'dexers: would you guys risk that shit by getting cybered up if we had that sort of tech irl?

the older I get the less willing I am, if you had asked me 20 years ago I would have gone with full cyberization close to the edge of a cyberzombie

No thanks. I couldn't mentally deal with a simple bone marrow transplant. I sure as fuck ain't dealing with cyber implants going into my body.

Shouldn't it be the other way around with seeing the slow decay of your physical condition due to age? :M

Bringing that shit in real life is going to cause some MAJOR problems.
See Deus Ex,where the divide between the augmented and non-augmented humans will cause civil unrest and violence.
Finally, with all the new technological advancements rolling in,the governments of our world will have every incentive to become more dictatorial and oppresive towards its citizens(a major theme in the first Deus Ex game).
Technology will not fix human nature nor the problems plaguing the human soul.

I'm not talking about the broader implications, just about how you'd personally tackle the question (and lets say that there is no economic downside to it, both the implants and the meds to keep your body from rejecting them coming for free).

Oh hell yeah. That augmentation would be welcome,as any other which can fix or treat major illnesses for example.
However, there will be many problems when rolling that new tech on the market. Presumably only the really rich will be able to afford it at first, while the poor get the shaft. There will be protests, violence, and so on. Again,Deus Ex had the Gray Death, the rich rarely(if ever) got the disease and if they did, they had access to the vaccine, while the underclasses were screwed.

Personally I wouldn't mind getting some cyber implants here and there and fuck me if gorilla arms/jumper legs wouldn't be cool to have but, and this is going to sound ridiculous, I'd be scared shitless of a solar flare happening and basically rendering me a cripple.
Didn't the lunatic just right to Misty's shop rambling about something like that in the game?

It would seem so, but the older you get the more you realize cyborg implants would be a crutch, a futile attempt to stave off death. And most cyborg implants from cyberpunk literature/games have a very low utility for normal people living a normal life. You're better off living a healthy lifestyle of proper sleeping/doing some sport/good eating habits than becoming a machine with a brain in a soup glass at the core.

It's funny how the devs have tried to address some gripes that can't really be addressed anymore. People wanted more apartments but apartments are functionally pointless? Let's add some pointless buffs from making tea or taking a dump! People weren't happy with the limited interaction between V and the supporting cast? Let's make Panam annoy you over SMS!

The word filter is really hitting up this thread hard.
No, the anime is really hitting this thread hard. And not just this thread, CBP's Nexus page has been overrun too. It's like a swarm of locusts, but instead of locusts it's anime.

In Deus Ex,mechanical augmentations also completely wrecks the social life of its possessor. See Gunther Hermann and Agent Navarre, who are so fucked up that they even compete against each other to see who has killed more NSF targets. It destroys a person's humanity, ironically enough,it doesn't elevate it.
Aaand,we have now turned a Cyberpunk 2077 thread into a Deus Ex one, which goes to show how much better the original Deus Ex is at building a dystopian and cyberpunk setting, while also delving into the morality and even tragic ramifications of enhancing the human body, but not its soul or aspirations.

Went with STR this time and with some implants you become waling tank.

Life is around 600
Biomonitor - at 15% of life it recovers 100% of life with 2minutes cooldown
Second Heart - at 0% it recoveres 100% of life with 60 sec cooldown.

Bretty good. I mostly played previously stealth/netrunning/techie but this time i went for dumb brute and so far it is pretty good. It is funny to watch people reactions when they say stuff like "you need to sneak into.... wait wait wait why are you shooting ? with V answering more or less: Anyways i started blastin'"

That's one of the things I do like about the game. There are plenty of viable playstyles, although some do go bonkers in how overpowered they are in late game. Personally I prefer the classic commando style with a focus on tech weapons.
