I think they have some "creative" shock&awe department bossing over tech dept and when push comes to shove the former can't reinvent itself for shit because got so "high on their own supply" in the first place would neatly explain how this game is overdone so bad.

Itemization is below the paygrade of the shock&awe dept person responsible of CUTSCENES & maxing the cringe-o-meter.

Really depends on what you mean by "significant".

Have they said anything about the godawful itemisation? I found a screenshot recently I'd taken of a riot helmet and a baseball cap with the same armour rating, and I recall weapons being a hellscape of damage modifiers and useless "DPS" numbers taking visual priority over actual damage numbers.
There's already a "wardrobe" (transmog, glamour, etc) feature that lets you wear any clothing over the ones you're actually equipped with.

With 2.0 armor will no longer tied to rarity tiers, so you’ll no longer see a legendary cotton t-shirt have a higher armor rating than a common ballistic vest. Clothes won’t provide any defense unless they’re armor to begin with (like the vest). You'll use cyberware (like the dermal armor) and maybe the slottable armadillo mods (I forgot if those will be removed). I think the transmog will be maintained, so nothing will change much since you already find armor around as random drops. Everyone will just be fully armored under their wardrobe look.

The weapon stats complaint sounds anal retentive since the raw damage is right under DPS

Yeah that's just a shit bandaid they slapped on to try and cover for the shit itemisation. It's also irrelevant, I'm not looking at myself.

This is what I wanted to hear. Clothes not providing armour unless modded appropriately. Excellent.

It is, but the crux of the issue isn't really where the damage numbers appear in the UI. It's this:

No-one can meaningfully compare items with this many variables. I think I heard at some point they removed a lot of this, like damage types etc., but any confirmation?

That won't be changed, but the game isn't difficult enough for that to matter. Just pick the bigger DPS unless one of the variables looks particularly strong.
That's not exactly a ringing endorsement - "these granular stat suck but it's okay because they're mostly irrelevant." Though I didn't expect a change anyway, this second perks overhaul is already more commitment than I thought CDPR would show the game.

It's not meant to be an endorsment, he said it's hard to compare weapons and I'm stating that the game isn't difficult enough to warrant comparing weapons beyond "this looks stronger" and maybe not have all your weapons deal fire damage and you run into a mech that is resistant to fire or something. Either way it's going to be obvious once you pick uniques that have variables such as "hits from this gun are 6x more likely to cause a knockdown", "fires two projectiles", or "you can use ricochets without the requisite cyberware".

I never even noticed those are in the game because I stopped looking at anything under the raw damage number, just like you said.

If by content you mean new quests and areas, then no. The patches added new gear, vehicles, houses, fixed bugs, rebalanced costs*, improved NPC behavior, etc. but the map is the same as release. Phantom Liberty will add new quests and areas but it's self contained in Dogtown (Pacifica). A few new gigs too.

*no more buying Samurai vinyl discs for cheap and dismantling them in front of Johnny for more valuable crafting material...

did they add any significant features to the game since release or will this be the first big addition?
Not only did they not add anything significant since release, but neither will this be a "big addition".
They're turning wasted potential shit no. 1 into wasted potential shit no. 2. Most of the "additions" read like downgrades tbh, with a few exceptions like car combat & police system (which will probably be buggy af).
The game is unsalvageable, and I'm sure there will be more downgrades than upgrades.

Story Driven, RPG, Open World, Well-managed difficulty curve - can't have all four of these at once. The game was rigged from the start.

The one from the racing sidequest? Was always there, as was the tranny pride flag on the car you might get for that quest. There was typical twatter butthurt about mods existing that could remove the flag.

Yeah, always been there. Very sad instance of checkboxing a tranny character. It could have simply been a nagging woman and the story would have worked just as well.

This new skill tree looks great and should actually support different feeling builds. Technically you could have builds before, but they were all pretty samey feeling from my experience. High level play may still fall into that trap just because of the number of points available, but there are enough distinct options that it seems promising between weapon specializations, melee vs. ranged, netrunners, more and less cybered characters, etc.

The absolute best possible outcome for this will be that the DLC is overall better than the base game but ultimately that just means you have a little island of quality in a sea of garbage still.

They should just straight up cut the police sysmte out instead of trying to make a 2.0 which will likely still be shit. But no they need to pretend this is a game like GTA instead of a RPG.

The police system in Witcher 3 is just as retarded and no one bats an eye. Even GTA 5 and R2D2's police system is dogshit.
