So, how's the level design in general. Can you still approach most of the quest in stealth like the main game? Or this new Bioware director they hired has decided to force the player into constant combat?
Yeah Stealth is still really strong.
There's a new thing where if you use quickhacks enemy netrunners can track your location but I believe there are perks to slow the detection down greatly and if you can find and take them out quickly the detection fails.

game crashed pre-DLC every 10 minutes or so, now with the DLC it crashes before I even get to the title screen. polish quality
Upgrade your PC.
I didn't have any problems 3 years ago with the game, now it just crashes all the time.
Of course, you didn't notice it back then, but now, after three years, the thermal paste on your GPU has dried up. The hotspot temperature goes above the safety limit, causing it to crash. It could also be your RAM failing. Run GPUZ to check for temperature issues, and please note that temperatures exceeding 110°C are not normal. After that, run some memory tests. The game runs flawlessly and is highly optimized compared to other modern titles.
It's a common trope on Steam forums; people often blame the game. However, when you look at the Steam survey, you'll find that an overwhelming majority actually have hardware that's inferior to an Xbox or PS5. I can already hear the autistic screeching here , as its very taboo, but for many of these individuals, it might be more cost-effective to simply get a console, especially if they lack the skills or financial means to maintain and upgrade a gaming rig.
The issue is with Cyberpunk 2.0 specifically. But I appreciate the advice.
Do you run any other demanding AAA games atm ?
it’s not a hardware issue I think because I keep an eye on it with msi afterburner whenever I start a new demanding game to optimize when necessary. Cyberpunk crashes every 10 minutes or so before the temps can even rise, which I assume is a bug on their part as many other people are reporting crashes after 2.0. And yes I’ve been playing Starfield, BG3 and Jagged Alliance 3 recently without issues.

Vic did you ever use mods? You may have some mod residue left over causing these crashes.

There is also a perk to trace them right back and to revenge hack them and their buddies.

I am not sure i like new skill tree. At start it looked pretty cool but when you look deeper some things there don't make much sense.

1. If you run cyberware you pretty much have to use tech tree. Tech for some reason now handles cyberware and cyberware limits. Now this would be logical if not for a fact that a lot of important stuff was moved to cyberware that previously was a skill and cyberware gives you armor so you either way need cyberware and ton of it.
2. Main skills sure are pretty nice but orbiting skills around those main skills are still pretty much passive bonuses (though stronger)
3. Most of trees actually feel pretty empty when you look at them deeper. They give you some passive-active skill like deadeye that more or less is just boost to stats not actual skill.
4. If you don't use something in your build this pretty much means sometimes half of your tree is not used. Good example of it is Cool tree and throwables.

We will see how it will end up later but for now i am not too hot about it.

On other hand the whole "enemies are scaled to you" is much better than i thought. First of all, all weapons and things are unleveled now. So copperhead tier1 shoots like copperhead and difference between tier 1 and max isn't that huge. Same with gongs, they are much more varied now and types of gongs matter. Some gongs are heavily armored, some run sandy that actually works now etc. But they never feel like they are just unkillable because they are lvl 50 and you are lvl1.

I think what they did is to first delevel world, properly categorize into classes enemeis and then just make equipment TIER1-x. But like i said difference between tier 1 and 5 isn't that huge. So what you end up is pretty much good upgrade where world is now unscaled (as countrary as it may sound to what they wrote in changelog). The "level scaling" probably just ups item tier of weapons they are using over course of game.

Most of the skills in skill tree also don't give direct damage, more like situational damage.

Is it the case of Skyrim as in leveling up non-combat skills will screw you over if you ever want to do a dungeon? Or are all skills combat related?
Everything's combat-related and crafting is now separated from the main levelling system, you can't fuck yourself over that way.

alright figured out the reason for my crashes, it was CPU overheating after all, moved to new apartment which is hotter than the last one and this is the issue, should probably apply new thermal paste too. For now, I set up a desk fan to help with PC air circulation and it seems to help, little trick I got off reddit. Started doing the main quest, and seems like I need to progress a little before I can start the DLC, which is fine, and yeah, after the crashes got resolved and I disabled the camera head bobbing, game became enjoyable again, tho the oversexualization of everything is still irritating, whatever, guess you get used to it after a while and become a sad coomer who can only get it up to bear sex. For now, I am enjoying the changes to cybernetics.

Jesus, Vic, that CDPR guy explictly said "everyone check your CPU cooling" in that dramatic tweet

i have a suspicion that door checks are scaled. Everything is now at 20 for me
They might have been upped here and there. See this mod description: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2886
In the unmodded game every conversation with a skill check has a difficulty level (None/Easy/Medium/Hard/Impossible - not related to the game difficulty) and a numerical power level associated with it. The power level is like an enemy or quest's level. The power level is fed into a curve (different one for each difficulty), which outputs a check value. None difficulty is a constant 3 difficulty (so always pass), and Impossible is a constant 20 value. The other three scale from 3-10, 5-15, and 6-20, respectively. The maximum of each curve is reached when the power level is 40 or higher. This is the same mechanism that doors and other device skill checks use, but it seems that devices actually use all the power levels and difficulties, because those can get quite high.

What I found so far in testing is that most conversations are Easy difficulty (max 10), and the power levels tend to be on the low side (hence me never seeing anything over 7). I found one skill check that was Hard, but it had a power level of 0 (actually undefined), giving a check level of only 6.

What this mod does

What this mod does is (optionally) bump up anything in the None/Easy/Medium range to the next highest level, and it partially scales the power level up to the player's level. By default the amount of scaling is at 0.75 (meaning it will scale up 0.75 of the difference between your level and the conversation's level).

I'm Lvl 17 now with only the main quest cyberware, and not invested a point in Tech. It's tougher without bullet time and double jump, but you can play the game as a pure shooter.

Yes, I was thinking the same, and as Mediocre Poet also mentioned, their level scaling has practically removed levelling from the game. I guess it was better marketing to say "NPCs now scale to your level" than "We *removed* levels from npcs and items".

I played through Hellman''s recovery mission with Panam at lvl 15-16, Very Hard difficulty, no cyberware except for the main story's cyberware, and it felt great from gameplay and difficulty perspective.

I'm playing it as well. Seems like netrunner isn't completely dead. Just that it's now with extra steps to prevent that retarded tracing. Like use sonic shock and then use overheat, contagion, etc. That's what I picked up from other forums. But sonic shock needs to be level 3 to have that quick hack silencing property or whatever. I only have level 2 and it doesn't work so it probably needs to be 3. Yeah just going around distracting enemies with the environment stuff that can be hacked and using takedowns. Plus I got the vehicle hacks which are reminiscent of those of Watch Dogs 2. Cool stuff to take control over them, blow them up etc. Don't have any build in mond, just quick hacks to see if it's working still, distractions, takedowns and eventually optical camo. Of course using a trainer to speed up the leveling process because I'm not spending all that time getting to 50 again after I lost the previous save from way back when. And infinite inventory. That's always a must.

Vic, could you please do us all a favor and shut the fuck up? Nobody in this thread cares about Starfield, if you want to talk about Starfield, go to the dedicated thread.

Also, playing a game where the oversexualization is part of the setting and then complaining about this is pants on head retarded. And don't you think we might have noticed that there is a quite a bit of lewdness in the game after three years?

Are you for real, Vic ? Here are just some random examples where you talk about Starfield:

So, is it not shit now?
disregarding the crashes I’m feeling bored as it’s too railroaded. Also I’m getting arrested by 2 black cops and then have to bow down to a black kween in the tutorial. People were shitting on Starfield but while I’ve been playing this railroaded shooter I’ve kept thinking I could be playing Starfield right now.

Everything in the game is just for show and you can’t interact with it, and the controls are fucking ridiculous. Yeah it’s “cinematic” and hooks you in with a gay bromance story but I’m not seeing what this has over Starfied. Combat AI is just as dumb.

This is my third playthrough now, with the first 2 being on release almost 3 years ago so maybe that’s what may contribute to my feeling of absolute boredom and annoyance dealing with the controls.

Game feels like an edgy 16 year old version of Starfield. Too much sex and trying too hard to be “gangstah”.

I have a headache from the overstimulation of visuals and sound after playing for 2 hours. Adderall zoomer game.

is this another thread where everybody is bitching about the game?
maybe I'm sitting this one out and just enjoy playing the game instead of arguing with you retards

Uninstalled the game after 3 hours, it's way edgier (and jankier) than I remembered, also had 5 crashes during that time. Not gonna bother with the DLC, enjoy kids.

Vic do you ever stop to think.. maybe everyone around you isn't wrong.. it's just you being a slow retard?
I don't think you guys are wrong, its just that you are too overstimulated to enjoy Starfield. It's impossible to play Cyberpunk without some kind of visual or auditory distraction popping up every 0.5 seconds. And the sex, oh boy it's so overblown and cringe. And this is what people who hate on Starfield are enjoying... No, you are not wrong, you are just victims of our modern times and I pity you.

I have over 100 hours in Cyberpunk buddy, I know the drill. And lol that the sex is supposed to be satire, where that was not my point, it's the effect it has on me as the player, which is a stark contrast to the calmer, or more boring as you would say, tone of Starfield, hence why I made the comparison because I've been playing both recently.

carry on fellas, I'm not here to hate on the game, just left my 2 cents

cyberpunk is as shallow as a puddle compared to starfield, I absolutely do not enjoy railroaded games, which cyberpunk is, also very little interactivity with the game world.

starfield has already almost 50% of the amount of mods that cyberpunk has

not being salty btw

And I am sorry if my second sentence was too complicated for you. The shorter version is: sex is part of the setting, deal with it.

Side note: I am always surprised by people who don't mind graphic violence but have a problem with sex or nudity. Must be an American thing

are you retarded? that was on Saturday when I came fresh to Cyberpunk after playing Starfield so I made the comparison but I haven't brought it up until you did just now. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish tbh

In one of the earliest versions they had removed underwear from NPCs in an attempt to optimize performance  At least that's what the patch note that returned uderwear was saying. I have a pic of the same woman with underwear from the later patch version.

desk fan really makes a difference, CPU temp went from 100C (crash due to internal overheating safety mechanism) to 85C (perfectly playable on ultra settings)
