Realistic version: he wrote one companion which will end up being heavily edited and they send him out to present at E3 purely because it's much better marketing to have even chubby Avellone reveal your game than some anon from Potatoland.

With an actual capable writer? Better than both. Dying Light was quite good action game with talent trees, just horrible fucking dialogue most of the game that made me skip most of the dialogue. If them Poles have actually learned from their mistakes with the 1st game, it should be worth getting at some point.

The first Dying Light is one of the best action games in recent years. It's writing isn't great but the gameplay and atmosphere is phenomenal. That formula with proper writing and reactivity could be top tier.
