What was he like? Did he get you black-out drunk?
no I only went up and talked to him after his panel. He did get a friend of mine drunk though I've seen the photos lol. Fun Fact Duke Nukem (John Saint John) was there at the party as well. In terms of Avellone benders this was probably his most tame.
I found that Avellone tended to ask a lot of questions about you a lot if he found you interesting, He rarely spoke about himself but was very passionate about the industry and I threw him a bit when I talked about wagetheft because of the incident with Obsidian had just happened not even a few months prior (I didn't know about it, I just brought it up because it had also just recently happened to me and I was excited about starting a new job teaching game design which Chris asked me about). But yeah I could kind of tell he got a little upset when I told him how much money had been stolen from me by my former employers. Generally the experience was good but awkward I was nervous and I think Avellone knew that (I think I surprised him that I walked up to him). He signed my copy of KOTOR2 which I've shown everyone here as proof that I did indeed meet him before.
My experience was he was more interested in Industry politics than women when sober.
I couldn't tell you what he was like drunk but the photos show he doesn't have a preference for men or women when it comes to drinking. Which makes me doubt that "malicious intent" point Chris likes to drink and he uses buying rounds for people as a way of making friends.
