Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
On his linkedin he's pretty smug about how he wrote everything to spec ("Contract completed in 2018 when content delivered according to spec, approvals, and under budget.") so it came down to Brian's personal preference for not having any kind of Avellonian writing in his game.
Could there have been some bad blood between the two of them? I find it weird that Mitsoda didn't like *anything* of what MCA wrote (and given the timespan, I'm sure that Mitsoda or someone else could've given Avellone some feedback as for him not to pointlessly write stuff that they wouldn't want to implement).
It wouldn't be the first time Chris wrote a bunch of content for a game that ended up being unusable. Maybe someday we'll get an in-depth explanation of why these things happen.

Yes, Avellone-feedback is why Alpha Protocol had to go through two Mitsoda-penned drafts before he was ultimately pulled off/possibly fired and Avellone rewrote the entire game himself.

Erik Kain was one of the few journos who remained open minded about GamerGate back in 2014.
He also honestly wrote about the ME3 endings debacle and he's one of the few conservative gaming journalists. I see a pattern of behaviour.

We know that with New Vegas and Pillars it's because he blew past the specifications to a ridiculous degree. With Dying Light 2 he was trying to go full-New Vegas when Techland didn't have the capability of making something like that. On BL2 he swears he wrote everything to spec. :M

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Avellone did stop associating himself with the Codex long before the accusations ever came out. Happy for the guy but it's hard to care when he just fucked off despite all the fanboying and support the Codex has shown (even if I would've done the same), in addittion to shilling for the SJW bullshit in his twitter post despite it ruining his life. You would think he'd have learned his lesson, but I guess not. Or he's really hoping this shit will allow him to reenter into the industry again, but somehow I doubt it.

Well yeah, the point of spending a lot of money to clear his name was for the chance to get to write for games again. Otherwise he would have just retired in luxury and let people believe what they want. He'd be just as much a pariah if he went full-chud, has to signal "I am still one of you." As long as there's a chance, he'll take it.

All he has to do is to just start his own kickstarter game.

It bothers me a great deal that they're not going to end up serving any jail time. They cost this man a lot of money, his livelihood basically, and even that apology is fucking halfassed.

I mean, look at it:
Mr. Avellone never sexually abused either of us. We have no knowledge that he has ever sexually abused any women. We have no knowledge that Mr. Avellone has ever misused corporate funds. Anything we have previously said or written about Mr. Avellone to the contrary was not our intent. We wanted to support women in the industry. In so doing, our words have been misinterpreted to suggest specific allegations of misconduct that were neither expressed nor intended.
And this is what she previous wrote:
Chris Avellone is an abusive, abrasive, conniving sexual predator.
“He’s fucking disgusting, but he did not rape me,” she said. “He assaulted me, 100 percent, but I stopped him.”
There is no room for misinterpretation here.

since the "lawsuit" was basically hysterical screeching of a lonely neurotic woman
While lonely neurotic women being put in their place isn't something to particularly cheer about, it still feels like a bit of normalcy was restored to the world.
I think we need every little bit of this and it might even be a useful reality check for mentally ill people of twatter. At least some of them might double check the shit they post now that there are apparently consequences in the adult world.

Years ago he talked about the possibility of starting his own remote indie studio and very likely since then has come to the conclusion that it's too much work. Far easier to be a part of someone else's thing than to run a business yourself (involves a lot of not-fun stuff you have to do as the Troika boys found out).

He certainly does have the money to do that, doesn't he?

begging some porn whore to come to his place so he can lick her used and destroyed pussy, full of cum from the previous porn star she fucked.
It was a.... major lapse in judgement on his part. Can happen to the best of us.
