It's an amazing mod obviously but why is Riordian a novice in this?
I thought this plays at the same time as Gothic 1/2 or does it play before?
10 years before the events of gothic 1. The mages haven't even created the barrier yet.

Where does it say that? I was looking but I couldn't find anything that placed the timeline.

Strictly in promo materials. There wouldn't be any way for people in-game to say "we are currently ten years before the events of gothic 1," would there? Probably the date is referenced in a few places but it's not like any of us remembers the gothic 1 calendar if it even had one

Well...duh. Yes, I was referring to info from the devs.

Saw the plot twist coming (before the release actually) and it was still soooo good. Story and voice acting are fucking brilliant, seriously professional grade stuff. It's middle of the night, I haven't worked or trained all day and I'm making coffee to keep playing. I feel like a kid discovering Gothic for the first time. Last game that drew me in this much was AoD.

No thieves' guild. Too derivative of G2 imo
Well, Lares did remark that there is a Thieves' Guild in every major city in Myrtana.

Zariusz Why rate me retarded?
Mobile browser sheaningans, using it means finding out later that you pressed random shit during fast scrolling.

Learning second level of alchemy makes beasts drop seeds on death, they are needed to craft some of the potions.

I wish that somebody has told me about it earlier. I have already cleared like half of the island, may be more.
It actually is written in a book somewhere. Most things are. Also, monsters respawn each chapter like in regular g2
They don't respawn but add a new ones to the group.

Is it worth wasting more than 3k to learn alchemy (level 2 and 3) or i can learn it for free somewhere or at least with discount?

Btw the guy who teaches extraction to 90% is a ship master\builder named Dack in the docks. About time to start mining all the ore veins.

to learn it for free you have to be the alchemist's apprentice, and it's probably the worst one for making money to balance that fact out

there are food recipes you can learn that use 1 sorrel and 2 stat plant to give +3 to the attribute of your choice if you want to skip alchemy altogether and just rely on those

I only want to learn alchemy for perma potions. I'll take blacksmith's apprenticeship. Cheer, man.

Maybe it's a good idea to skip it after all.

I just wasted 2k gold to get pickpocketing to max only to find out that the high level pickpockets give even less gold that the simple ones lol. Yeah top tier design of running around and getting 9 gold per pickpocket after spending 30 lp and 2k gold lol.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
What are the other apprenticeship options in the city? I just got the citizenship completed last night.

Alchemist does seem kinda tempting to skip the 3k requirement for max level alchemy. Gold seems a fair bit scarcer than in NOTR base, though maybe that's because I just haven't found good money making methods yet.

There's a butcher, blacksmith, locksmith and the bowyer woman who also offer apprenticeships. No idea if they offer anything besides buying relevant items at a premium.

The chap that gives you the citizenship also gives you a list with all the possible apprenticeships.

There's a great staff just outside silbach in the cave full of undead near Rita's vineyard. Strength DOES boost staff damage, and weapon training affects your hit percentage just the same. It's just magic damage rather than blunt/slashing
I've just done some testing with marvin mode, neither strength nor mana increases damage dealt by the staves.

Ah, stopped playing last night almost as soon as I'd finished the quest. I'll have to check the options out when I play later.

I guess it's a bit of a long term/short term thing. Can you easily make more than 3k gold in the long-term with one of the other options vs the short term saving for alchemy upgrade.

Am I missing something then? I finally managed to get enough mana to use the 50 damage staff from that skeleton cave and it does absolutely laughable damage. Barely shaves 10% off a scavenger, what the hell?

You still need to train weapon proficiency to hit for full damage more often. Even alchemist's staff nearly one shots a scavenger when you "crit". Is this your first time playing Gothic.

It's not about the gold, it's about the items you can get for example I got fire rain scroll from pickpocketing a mage also got alot of golden plates and other valuables (you can sell them at a good price at the locksmith) from the rich citizens.

I recommend visiting Araxos Gold Mine, provided you have high extraction skill. This place is hilarious. You can also make some nice money there.

Nah, but it's been a couple of years since I touched G2. I forgot staves also need 2H proficiency, and apparently I can't read either.
I was already going to make a 2H fighter for my second playthrough. Oh well, back to being a severely alcoholic spellcaster then.

Learning second level of alchemy or becoming alchemist's apprentice (haven't figured out what exactly you have to do) makes beasts drop seeds on death, they are needed to craft some of the potions.

Seeds comes just from learning 2nd level of alchemy rather than the apprenticeship. I started getting them after learning it from the alchemist who gives you the bloodfly medicine.

You can learn how to collect the seeds for free on lvl 1 alchemy you just have to do alchemist aprentice quest he will teach you how to get seeds so you can do his quest.

How much is high? I have like 50 extraction now.

I went with 90. The book next to the mine boss will give you additional +3 or +5. You can get to 100 in the mine itself. And i think those who joined merhants guild in Ch2 have better exchange rates for gold nuggets. At least i remember the mine boss mentioning it. And don't forget to take some spare pickaxes.

The way this mine functions reminds me of the bandit gold mine from NotR. Gotta have the skill as high as possible before you even start mining to jew the maximum amount of gold nuggets out of there.
