Oh, right. Where are they both standing right now? Kazeem at the gate, Judge at the house?

I'm doing the quest for acquiring a house in Old Town, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
I hung all the notices and worked out a deal with Kazeem. I have the 1K gold and bought a set of rich merchant garb from the tailor, but neither Kazeem or the guy in charge of the auction are giving any more dialogue options.
Did you buy the right clothes? Open your jorunal and see if it says "I have the right outfit with me. I can take it to Kazeem", if it doesn't, then the game doesn't view the clothes you bought as the correct ones.

I'm in chapter 3 and apprenticed to Odgar. I've bought all weapon recipes I've seen, and crafted 1 of each for him.

Now I'm at the point where there's apparently nothing more to craft for him. I've also completed the quest about finding a new diagram for him at the Amber Coast.

How am I supposed to proceed/complete my apprenticeship with him? I've read about people who's learned master weaponsmithing from him in chapter 3, but he doesn't offer it to me.

Chapter 4 for master smithing for me I think. I also hadn't crafted every type of weapon either. He gives you something else in Chapter 5 if you talk to him but there is no prompt for it.

By the way, I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that the alchemist artisan gives you a super potion once you finish his quest line. I've completed it, he allowed me to become an apprentice for another master, but I did not recieve any potion from him.
Keep visiting him and selling him things, it might not happen till chapter 5 or something.
Alright, I'll check it.

I found two intereting scrolls in the cave near sailor's retreat: summon demon and wave of death. But they can not be transcribed at the writing table, what a fucking waste! I wanted to have some fun with a bunch demon pets, I would've been glad to have them during my trip to the forgotten temple at the swamps. Don't see much point of these scrolls then, unless they allow you to cheese bosses or something.

Oh and does the door in that cave opens during some quest or do I need to look for the key somewhere? I've been almost everywhere on the island, except for the swamp temple, volcano, distant island and the monastery.

I bought literally every piece of clothing the tailor offers just to be sure, and I still can't do shit. Guess the quest bugged out, rip to my home.

Here's a full quest log, may be it'll help you somehow.

I've made it to chapter 5.

Volker is the big bad of story, right?
Just as I thought. I have no idea why some people in this thread have tried to dismiss my concern about him and his man appearing in Silbach prior to Jorn's kidnapping. If some unknown, unfriendly armed men, that do not explain their motives, appear somewhere a short time prior to a disaster the first fucking thing to do is to check if they are somehow involved in the mess! It's such an obvious thing to do, holy shit!

For the 'Old Friends' quest: I've gotten the manifest, chest of gold, the ornate sword, the jewelry, jewels (3 total from bodies, southerner and goblins), weapons (3), swampweed, magic ore (3), and steel (2). Is there anything else? Normally, there would be a 'time to visit Cortez' journal update.
There is another isolated beach and cave nearby with much higher level monsters than everywhere else. Related?

Edit: last steel bundle was on a body I missed, so 3 total.

As far as I could find, there was nothing related to that quest there. But there's a very cool dungeon (which rekt me within 10 seconds despite being level 28 or so and with decent armor) if you have a certain key to unlock it.

The door to the temple in the swamps opens with a key you get from the museum curator in archolos who collects old coins. Did you miss him entirely? The sword-key should be one of the first things he gives you.

Have these guys shown any ambition toward founding their own studio and making AA open world proper RPG good Action games?

This is excellent proof of their skill

Turns out one of the notice boards I went to didn't register, or I'm just an idiot and forgot to actually post a notice to it. Either way, I swear I did them all. Derp.

Honestly, I'm surprised there are so few indie game studios making Gothic-like games. All ingrediants are there: current lvl of technology is high, cheap and easy to learn, HD Gothic lvl of graphics with good art style are financially cheap (DO NOT make games in EU, make them in Balkans/Eastern Europe), ease of publishing on Steam etc... It's really a missed oportunity, especially with time gap between Skyrim 1 and Skyrim 2 being INSANE 10+ years, to not capitalize on STARRRRVING audience

So starving that they pay full price for Skyrim+:Fishing Edition after ten years. One of best selling games in 2021.

I wasted about 30 mins looking for the final notice board then realised that Old Town had two notice boards.

Much raging occurred.

Is this on par with Gothic/Gothic 2?
I've beaten G2NotR at least 20 times total in my lifetime, probably more. Still have a physical copy I bought around 2008 I think. Game has been my childhood. Day 4 of playing CoM, 24 hours of play time. Unironically better than crack. My social life is dead.

Nostalgia won't let me admit it but it's probably an overall better game than G2NotR is too. I will save my final judgement until I finish CoM and have some time to think. Tons of fixes and improvements over the originals. A lot more C&C in general, more choices, more alternative solutions, more everything. Various bottles/foodstuffs scattered around homes and much more small details in all locations in general. There's no need to save perma stat boosts for late game, they no longer count toward training costs. Can no longer cheat by waiting until you are 1 point away from higher LP cost for training and getting 5 points thus saving 4 LPs, the game will adjust the cost appropriately. Much better crafting and seems to actually be worth spending LPs on most of the time, gives access to much stronger weapons a lot sooner and they give bonuses to the relevant weapon skill that almost makes up for LPs spent on crafting itself. Economy is a lot better, money is pretty tight, worth to spend LPs on some money makers unlike in the originals, I have like 1500 gold right now but all the stuff I'd like to buy that I've seen is probably worth over 10k combined. Design of everything is truly Gothic, if you told me the map and all the hidden treasure was designed by PB themselves I'd believe you. Much more underwater treasure, too. There's even a water breathing potion so I expect some underwater exploration in the future. Cool new monsters, I especially like the turtles that pretty much shit on melee with no counter but are so slow ranged shits on them in return.

Only complaints so far are too many immortal NPCs (like every other person at the city including patrolling guards that don't seem essential at all, very annoying) and too many closed doors that cannot be interacted with at all, not even a "key required" message. Also too bad they did not put a cap on praying to Innos, seems like it's still an infinite money-to-hit-points converter, but given that money is much more valueable and you probably won't be able to afford everything you want this may not be a big deal at all.

It's grander for sure. I wouldn't say it's better, some things are definitely better and some things i don't like, but it's a high quality stuff. And a good addition to gothic series. I'd canonize it as official Gothic prequel game if it were up to me.
