Phew... I finally read the whole thread, my playthrough is sucking all my time.
I am at 140 hours mark and still in chapter 3. I spent 42 in first chapter and was at 124 hours mark when I joined chap3. /anw
I am obviously exploring the world map like an autist-tard, feels good, wasn't excited by a game like that since my early 20's (probably VTMB at the time), that's around 15 years ago.

The game is a massive incline; notable mention for its quest design: where there are tons of hidden solutions. Where your quest journal would update with a line like ''ok, I found the cave[...]'', it would actually be a misinterpretation of your character and you would have to figure it out on your own.
Someone telling you ''ok, there might be x and y that you need to fetch me'', you can actually find a z if you're bright (and if you've got the time to handle it).

But as it was mentioned before, yes the game is literally plagued with Immortal NPC's, or design inconsistencies: Teleports that malfunctions because quest.
I seems that some quest designers found sublte ways to approach dead ends, and some other went hurr-durr. Really hope we will see some fix to this. I'll certainly bring it up on steam forums when I'm done playing this.

Sjukob it's not hard to start a mage, the fact that you need to find runes etc. is exciting, ofc it's busy work, but it's part of the thrill. But the thing is, you ''one shot'' (burst dmg) everything even early.
The issue is that it involves backtracking, you're out of ammo pretty fast and you cannot take groups, you need to pull out critters out of their groups and if you can't, you're fucked.
But you make steady progress. I would vouch for a 30% in one handed since it synergize so well with Dust Wind and Ice Block.
You can easily pump strength with all the boosters, notably apples. I need to check again but I think I am close to 130 str with only 30 trained.
Thx a lot for your input/video on combat technics, helped me a ton.

Finished it after about 80 hours, what can I say except what a fucking masterpiece. The fact that it got made in this degenerate clown world we live in now is a miracle that we should all be thankful for.
Hear hear. Finished it last night. I feel empty. It'll be another 10 years before something of this calibre comes out again. I donated to thier PayPal heh.

I felt burned out towards the end, but roughly a week later I'm tempted to start a 2nd playthrough -- this time with the the happy Infinitron merchant faction.

Need to convince myself to wait. Otherwise I'll almost certainly burn out towards the end game.

Someone in this thread mentioned that the devs might make a veteran mode. Think it was Justicar. If so, was it something they said on the Steam forum? Any more info?

Finished it as well. Not much to say, except that it's a masterpiece worthy of the Gothic name. All the more so since it's free (and was made by people living in Poland).

I only right now able to try this mod out, but then I noticed that some people on steam forums were talking about 1.2 patch releasing soon and I am in process of thinking about waiting a bit. Is anyone here knows a more precise date for patch than "soon"?

No idea but it shouldn't stop you from playing, mod is content complete and there's hardly any game breaking bugs. Game is 20 years old and likes to crash so save often and in multiple slots but that's common wisdom.

We are going to release another major Patch named 1.2 in a few days. It will feature even more bugfixes, balance changes and other improvements. We also hope to start community-supported translation on Crowdin after the patch, but we still can't confirm it yet. Once again, please wait for further announcements as we continue to work on preparing Crowdin. We sincerely thank you for the great response from all communities that want to give their compatriots a chance to experience our game!

They also specify it will not require a restart and if they ever release a patch that would require one you will be allowed to keep playing on the old version.

Hey! You have the same thoughts as me when I finished it and restarted after a few days. Simply any game still to be played in my library paled in comparison and having it still installed I couldn't resist.
I had started a game as a mage and wanted to join the merchants to try out what I had not done so far.
This time I aslo installed DX11 and quicksave enabled. Obviously it turned out that the save file got corrupted and I had to redo a long piece of the game so I gave up at chapter 2...
I'll probably wait for the patches and this new hardcore mode to play it again.
It would be nice to know more. I also did not find information around ...

Really enjoying the game so far but the city is too big for my taste. It becomes a pain to get around. It could have benefited for being tightened up a bit imo.

Anyone else share this sentiment or am I just a ADHD-addled popamoler?
If you get lost, feel free to hire a guide. They're cheap, and I found it charming that the team went to such lengths to make the city navigable. Nobody ever mentions the guides it feels.

Is it even possible to beat big ben?
I think I needed like 5 shots with a bow. Didn't even need any fancy speed pots or slow scrolls, strafing and dodging around his slow and highly telegraphed attacks was easy enough. Not that I had to, he was barely alive before he even got close because he doesn't feel like running. I have consumed an ungodly amount of perma DEX pots and raspberries up to that point though.

English voice-overs for this when?

We need to put the RPG-Codex anglophile pollacks to work on this. Have Maxie , warpig , madbringer, Lagole Gon translate that shit with their beautiful voices..

First of all, u never heard my voice. Second, I wouldn't touch this shit with a ten foot stick.
