I just wanted to say that despite its size, the city is very well designed. I was afraid it would be a nuisance to navigate but after a couple of treks through the streets, I'm already pretty familiar with the layout. The city also feels very alive, like you would expect form a Gothic game, though I gotta say that people going to curch at noon (?) is a very cool touch.

And you can attend mass.

I'm guessing the devs intended to leave a black bear skin in the endgame dungeon for armor construction, since there is a brown bear skin right there when you find the damaged armor. Perhaps they will fix it next patch.
Thanks for the heads up, as I brought one.

Edit: dammit. I cashed out all my gold and ore beforehand so these new weapon plans will probably go to waste.

Has anyone figured out what to do with the Wisp? It's important enough to warrant a journal entry.

So I went and looked up the ending on Youtube to see if I missed anything because it kept crashing at the very end of the sequence. Now everything makes even more sense.

I feel so bad for Marvin. :(

Just to make you feel even worse, you probably killed Marvin in Gothic 1 if you killed Scar (Marvin) and Gomez's other lieutenants in Old Camp

Are there any quests with Astrologist in Old Town?

TEH TRUTH AWAITS
This thread is going to be a great foothold for further Potato colonisation of lands of Codexia. Today you are playing Chronicles Of Myrtana with a prestigious dubbing but tomorrow you will be playing real life with that dubbing.

The future awaits and it will be glorious...

When i killed Widow during that bounty he had became aggresive, did this happened to anyone else or Astrologist is just a simp like Marvin.

He only becomes aggressive if he sees you loot her dagger. I guess since the corpse is in his house he lays claim to it.

Same happened to me -- after a few in game days he didn't care anymore though and wouldn't attack me on sight. No clue how intended any of it was.

So, I finished fight club....and went back there the next night.

I'm now a little depressed.

What the HELL was Alena thinking, trying to bring in a fucking Shadowbeast of all things?! :argh:

Oh well, I got some apples from the corpses, so I guess I'm ok with it.

Fun little exploit I just found.

If you beat on someone while they sleep, other's won't notice and your bounty won't increase.

It's a little buggy. Sometimes they don't get xp (and they get "stuck" on their beds, but still lootable). Sometimes they'll get up immediately with one hp and attack you (but they won't cause an alarm still), and then you'll get the xp for beating them.

Even if they get out of bed with other's around, no one else will notice as long as you don't move around while swinging your sword. They'll get up, complain about their head, and then go back to sleep even if you're standing right there still.

Even with the bugs, it's a good way to get apples.

Justicar it has nothing to do with quicksave, any save can be corrupted, it has been pointed out many times in this thread.
Every time you load the game it generates new seed for lockpicking combinations.
This isn't the case with quick save/load, which is probably the only reason why quick save/load was disabled in the first place.

I personally save to the first slot and always do a quick save backup, and it saved me m.u.l.t.i.p.l.e. times, I'm 240hours in and still not done with the game (just begun chap.5).
I possibly had a dozen corrupted saves, if not more, and my backup always saved the day. At most I lost 5 minutes (at the very top).

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
The Gothic engine literally uses a different process for quicksaving than manual saves.
I have *never* quicksaved and none of my saves have ever corrupted, not in G1, not in G2 and not in this.

Yes, even regular saves can get corrupted-- but it is so extremely rare; the game would have to have an access violation while you are saving, which is very unlikely with the 4GB memory patch.

To add to this, the systempack creator (who is very familiar with the Gothic engine) recommends you have it off completely.

The act of saving without opening the menu apparently changes the way the game unloads resources. It makes sense as the game likely "pauses" a bunch of stuff when you open the menu, quicksave likely skips directly to saving the game without going through the same process.

Edit: Also to mention I never quicksaved and didn't suffer a single corrupt save the entire way through.

In my ~15 years of playing gothic I have never used quicksaves and had save corruption happen I think about 3 times. At least 2 if not all of those happened because the game crashed or power went off during saving. Not a single corruption in Archolos so far.

i think it was sent by Riordan later to find Kessel, i dont know if he made it or maybe it lived there before expedition, maybe some leftover for possible saving of Kessel?
