Here's something funny about Troika closing it's doors written by the guy who's spent 14 years working on a Wizardry clone and still isn't finished:

Desolation barely has anything working except the revamped editor/compiler from WAKE OF THE COMET and a DirectX viewer for the iso map output. However, I know how to do it, what I will do it with and how to implement it. I also know what people want in terms of a FALLOUT style game and I intend to give it to them. I've been working on the story for this game for about fifteen years. I doubt if Troika would have had a story as solid or as interesting as my own to put into their FALLOUT successor.

This wouldn't be nearly as funny if Cleve had actually finished a game. When you factor in the amount of time he's been working on the Wizardry clone though, his super great Fallout clone will probably be a generational project. He'll have to pass it down to his Super Genius offspring and their offspring in order to have it finished.

I understand that this is all high drama and all, and that Grimoire is some jackass's wet dream that he hopes to one day sell for M1LLONS OF DOLLLARS!, but really, this is getting old. The "Bad Neo-Nazi Hater Person vs Liberal Defender of People's Rights Everywhere" battle has been waged on the Internet for *years*. I don't come to the Codex to read pages and pages of flaming, but to read about *RPGs*. I didn't mind the other stories on the "subject," but next time, could we keep it to a one-line article that says "More fighting on the internet" and a link to the relevant thread in the forums?

Your presence in this thread is what could be questioned. Surerly you could see that this was not about a RPG and if not you surerly could have discovered that before you read it all trough? I find it quite humorous and the laugh is mostly on some super genious developer guy, not even Bryce dare compare himself with him anymore

I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the mess that Fez and Sol Invictus (ex-news posters) have caused at the RPG Codex. I've since fired them from their positions and their ISPs will be receiving notifications from myself as well as the host of the RPG Codex servers, Taluntain. They will be dealt with by their local authorities in Australia and Malaysia and my legal counsel has assured me that we will do whatever we can to aid in a civil suit against these two miscreants.

I have logs of Fez confiding in his part in spamming Grimoiresystems.com last year with batches of pornographic spam and I assure you that he will be dealt with. Sol Invictus's actions reflect poorly on the website and while his heart may have been the right place his litany of accusations was misdirected, as I believe that Cleve Blakemore is an outstanding, and upstanding individual who could not, in any way be connected to those false accusations. More likely, he did it out of maliciousness and for the sake of bringing undue attention to himself, and unfortunately, to the RPG Codex as well.

Please don't sue us. I and the remaining staff at the RPG Codex will be delighted to write up a feature preview or interview with you, Mr. Blakemore, on the subject of Grimoire, if you'll agree to leave this behind you and leave the lawyers out of the (resolved) situation.

Oh, this is fun. Tears of joy here. I want to thank so many people for their contributions, particularly Jinxed for posting that hilarious typing animation and Role-Player for the "small penis" comment posted in reply to the "fat fingers" question. I also want to thank Adolf H for joining their forums. He doesn't have to post, it's enough for me to know that he appeared as their "newest registered user" when I visited.

If there were any RPGs I wanted to read about I'd probably be annoyed at the fact that long non-RPG posts take up space on the main page, but that's not the case right now.

I will have to say that poll on Cleve's site is the funniest damned thing I've read today. I actually voted for the Tom Cruise one, just because it's Cola-Out-The-Nostrils funny.

The second funniest thing was the fake post on Cleve's forum from the fake Exitium which had the line, "I always do my best to make sure that everyone around me is feeling as good as me.. Even if they are Philipinian subhumans." in it.

I've banned their IPs and cleaned their posts out.

I hope nobody saw the horrible stuff they were posting up here. They were some of the most hideous graphic images I have ever seen. I'm speaking of course of the undoctored photos of their own faces.

I deleted that picture of Ian Cheung and I got an automated email from the Wayback machine that said when they sent that image to be archived, their server tower suddenly sprouted legs, disconnected it's own parallel port and ran off - and has not been seen since. That dude gives whole new meaning to the expression "butt ugly." The guy's face looked like a 3D television commercial for diaper rash. I can only guess how many times his parents moved house with no forwarding address before they were able to ditch him when he was little. The doctor probably didn't know which end to spank when he was born. Before you ask why the guy has such a chip on his shoulder, I demand an explanation to know how he got a baboon's ass grafted on the end of his neck. I couldn't quite make out that expression he had, I'd generalize it by calling it "proctology examination." The fellow looked like somebody hit him with the ugly stick, it stuck in place and they just left it there. Looked like a drunk taxidermist putting together a piece of performance art. I'd sue a veterinarian for leaving my dog's face looking that way after a car accident. The poor lad was that homely. Unless somebody builds him a mate like Elissa Manchester in BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, this critter is not going to be courting any time soon this century. If I was that ugly, I wouldn't even have sex with myself. Very Happy

Anyway, I've banned all their IPs and will ban and delete them if I detect them back on the board under any concealed alias as well.

What really bugged me was not these thin wristed shrill girly men attacking me, I can take it - I'd chew these guys up like beef jerky and spit out souffle. I couldn't believe they were going over to RPGDOT and cursing the unpaid, unrecognized staff like that. These kids definitely came from the MTV latchkey generation, they've got mouths on them like Eminem, another 4'6 120 lb Gen-X loser. They probably grew up in single mother homes and were likely lucky if their mothers even showed up to supervise them on occasion. I'd say theirs were wasted lives, except the truth is - nobody misses 'em, anyhow.

RPGCodex is not only as bad as it has been accused of in the past (by many, many people over the past two years) it is demonstrably worse than anybody could have imagined until today. Really class act what they did this morning. Likely the high point of their existence.

If anybody sees them again on here, even lurking, please bring it to my attention.
