'Van Buren' or 'Meantime' it does not matter as long as is not 'Dominos with Friends' or 'Pinochole + Friends' the RPG.

I know it is absurdly crazy, but what if Fargo bought from Bethesda all Van Buren documentations (and maybe assets and Jefferson engine), so he can continue it's development providing he won't sell it under Fallout title? Sound completely insane, but the news is already insane.

Then he could also license the Fallout trademark with all other things like the pipboy and spezial, and make Fallout: Van Buren on the unity3d engine.

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
We've already had a game inspired by the documentation of Van Buren. It's called Fallout: New Vegas.

I seriously doubt this has anything to do with the actual Van Buren.

The box cover was never made public, but is said to feature Albert Einstein, who was a playable character in the game.

Maybe "Van Buren" could be a good hype engine for an expansion pack of Wasteland 2.

Yeah. It's more likely that, in the same way they used the Torment name to give more credibility to their spiritual sequel to PS:T, they would use Van Buren for a possible spiritual sequel to Fallout 2, except that idea is preposterous and unlikely as well, unless they will use the Van Buren brand to hype the Kickstarter campaign, before settling for a different name.

Making TWO post apocalyptic games which compete against themselves isn't a wise business decision.

Van Buren was used in NV already, design documents are leaked, modders who are trying to revive this mutilated corpse will commit suicide if they work will be wasted etc. there's no reason to make it. This trademark makes no sense besides generating hype and misleading codex's spies. I wonder what they are planning.

RPG with time travels sounds cool. I hope they will include some less known historical figures (if they really are going to make this game).

I like how people are waving away the Van Buren trademark and focusing their hopes on the Meanwhile one and, to be fair, that does make more sense. But since the Van Buren one is almost a month older, if Jedi Master Radek's find would have preceded the one made by Roguey, this whole place would have been in flames with speculations about it.

inXile and Fargo has currently only few considerable trademarks: Wasteland, Desert Rangers, Meanwhile and Torment. Van Buren is currently not given to Fargo. Fargo is only an applicant for this trademark. And The Bard's Tale trademark status is abandoned.

Van Buren is definitely something people have been "passionate" about. How does that fit anything remains to be seen. Making the "Fallout 3 that fans wanted" sounds ridiculous, but Van Buren could actually be related to the next Wasteland which would be Wasteland 3, afterall. :)

EDIT: Also, please note that both Wasteland and Van Buren share the idea of some kind of military installations in space. Maybe not all of that stuff got destroyed in the meteor rain that spawned the war. Or maybe there were no meteors... ;)

It would be funny to see Van Buren released like they wanted it to be back in 2003 and codex's subforum devoted to complaining that it suck because of engine, Sawyer's approach to mechanic, weird story, Sawyer changing stats, different colours palette, Sawyer, not being like F2, and Sawyer.

Add some Hyperion & Book of the New Sun RPGs to the line as well, plox.
