Duck and Cover was able to do all this for a tenth of the price.

Not really, on DAC it's just a matter of migrating the forums (which isn't going quite according to plan either). And the DAC forums are completely bare-bones, whereas the Codex forums have a boatload of addons, some custom-developed for the Codex that will need to be redone from scratch. And there's much more to it than that as well. Also, this donation drive is primarily for upgrading the server (or rather moving to a new one), which has nothing to do with what we're doing on DAC.

Open discourse is dying even on the verdant fields of the internet. I'd rather you guys not puss out or go belly up like so many others. :salute:

^ What he said... Imagine an internet where all forums are just slightly different flavors of ResetEra - or even worse - RPGWatch!

I will wait to see how much change I have left in my PayPal, dropping some serious cheddar on more physical silver bullion first.

How about the RPG Codex Troll as a bobble head for $100, or if it is bad ass and thus more expensive, a $200 donation?

Supporting Codex with a few bucks is one thing (which I did),
but if I'm to dish out a hundred, it would be mainly to get the memoria trinket and I won't do that until I know what it is and how it looks.

Oh come on, 'Codex Server Upgrade' just means DU want to buy a iPhone because the batteries of the Nokia 3310's it's currently running is starting to wear down and replacements aren't easy to find anymore.

How about a "get out of jail card" for every X dollars spent (amount should be decided by DarkUnderlord ) which would protect us from mods butthurt like banning Kalin from SB or Cael getting the dumbfuck tag for innocence (and it should last like forever or at least a year unless the user would do something really, really stupid which all mods would find disturbing deserving a severe punishment)?

I just generate temporary numbers for my credit card that expire after usage. Don't most banks offer this?
What bank rusty? Never heard of this before, and we’re both Stateside I think
