Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Two things that annoy me: Text box to the right, but I already knew about it. I just like it on the bottom of the screen. Readability of where you can go on the map.

Oh, and in menus, I wish it would highlight what I have clicked on.

The writing is okay to me, and I don't have a big issue with the setting.

Accuracy should be tweaked. Missing point blank shots with a shotgun is ridiculous.

Anyone else finding the inventory tedious?? Haven't searched it for new weapons in hours. Also i see no difference between weapons in general. The difference is like 1 or 2 max damage unless energy weapons. But there is no ammo for energy so..... Also did anyone kill the worm boss,me weapons were doing 2 damage ?!

After reading the last few pages I'm getting this distinct impression from the codex.

Snap judgements on combat/systems design from people who demonstrably don't have a good grasp yet (Give it time), and people displeased with the level of polish/production (Fair enough), not dissimilar to AoD's response.
Once our resident agendaposting rightoids fulfill their hysterical faggot quotas and move on to the next game the atmosphere will change, as it does with every release.

all this bitching gets me itching

but I will wait before I shit on the game

I mean, the game is definitely a step down from AoD, no question. It's missing things that were great back then (a map, LORE, faction system from the get go with tons of reactivity and roleplay viability, LORE, crafting, LORE) and doesn't really improve that much upon existing things. I still had fun with my first run and I'm definitely going to replay it, but it's hard to shake the feeling of what could've been.

Still, hope this sells well and they can do another one. The setting has potential if they want to continue with a sequel and frankly, nobody makes RPGs like ITS.
Imagine, you have not known AoD or Dungeon Rats. How would you feel about this game?

Are you asking as somebody who hasn't played AoD or Dungeon Rats?

I can't just erase my AoD memories, so hard to tell. As I said, I like it and plan to replay it eventually, which is something I can't say about many other RPGs. Finishing Colony Ship made me start a new AoD campaign though, so take that how you will.

Of course the game is perfect perfection. How dare anyone criticize such a God send to humanity. Getting very strong Creative Assembly ban madness vibes here.

Since I did not manage to do full solo (kill every possible encounter) with my "dodge" build started another playthrough, did not take many hours to reach Habitat this time.

Build with some chest hair:
10 str, 10 con, 8 dex, per int cha 4
focusing on blunt + armor + shotgun

A lot easier early game think I can do everything with this char except unnerfed mission control robot fight. for mission control big worm might need Romeo.

I finished the game and liked it well enough, apart from the skill up by using skills.

I'm somewhat confused though. I did all quests up to the habitat, solved everything peacefully until I got back from the heart but then suddenly everything was on rails and I don't understand what choices I made.

There were a series of pretty hard combat encounters starting in the armoury and the game implies that there are diplomatic options but I seemingly don't get them.

When I finally get to end game the game seemingly presents me with multiple options but jokes on me, I only get to chose two of them (one of which i suspect is a "secret" ending). What is going on here?

I got 3 endings
take the landet, return to earth and don't land the ship
. I assume there are 2-3 more endings for the other factions but that leaves me with only 5-6 endings and I heard there were 8?

The design of the ending honestly confused me. Is there cut content or am I missing something obvious?

I had no fights in the armory at all.

My options were to:
Take the lander and abandon the ship with my team, return to earth, take the lander with a few colonists and prepare for the eventual landing of the main ship, stay on the ship and help organise for said eventual landing.

I had allied with the
Monks
outgoing from allying with the church and was able to broker peace between all factions and unite them under a new banner.

I've cleared all the game's EA content thrice and have now beaten the full release and have made detailed arguments about the poor balance between evasion and armor handling in this thread repeatedly. The other shill gave up on addressing any of my arguments if you'd care to take up the torch instead.

Mind you, I'm reasonably happy with the game overall, but skill balance is still not great. Steal is almost totally pointless, Stealth requires you have metagame knowledge of each of the skill checks the devs decided to include for the railroaded stealth options, Rifles are the best weapon type, and Evasion is a trap build.

How do reaction attacks work? My guy has a rating of 60% which seems decent, but he almost never does any.

It's a percentage diceroll shown in your combat log each time an enemy either misses you with an attack or moves. I don't know exactly how the game decides which movement triggers reaction attacks, when you plot your own movement you will see little crosshairs on the tiles which will trigger reaction fire from enemies. Something to do with LOS and each weapon's range, I assume?

Don't be a fucking woman about this shit. If you got something to say you can go ahead respond to me. Your last response was some butt hurt shit that I laughed at then ignored.

Barking up the wrong tree, since I even posted about this in the EA thread:
for a grunt rifle build i should use light armor of heavy?
Armor feels a lot better than Evasion ATM. My thief Faythe was getting obliterated by grazes in my last run.

I don't know how I could be any clearer. I - and several other people - have repeatedly explained that Evasion is flatly inferior to Armor Handling, both as a skill and feat investment, and made detailed arguments to this point and posted screenshots demonstrating its reality in play. Your response has basically amounted to "you can't dodge bullets," a ridiculous retort that betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of what RPGs - abstracted through numerical values and dicerolls - even are. And even if it were a valid argument, which I am absolutely not granting you except as a rhetorical device, then the trap option should simply be removed and sublimated into the accuracy progression as a whole, rather than being presented as a valid character building option which competes with armor for resources and is implied to yield equivalent results.

Both Age of Decadence and Dungeon rats had character backstory. And even small quests explaining how you found yourself in current situation when storyline starts.

Here, in Colony Ship, your character wakes up one day in his room and goes adventuring, because why not.
Can be the Chosen One, as well.

It's obvious the game suffered from lack of funds and development time to fully realize the vision Iron Tower had for it. 7 years development time doesn't mean much if you spend most of it counting pennies to be able to afford anything.

Dont think that even an "enhanced edition" would be enough to salvage the experience enough for it to reach the level of AoD. The devs would have to completely rewrite the factions and add almost another game worth of content.

Well looks like the best thing about Colony Ship by far is that it made few people here (myself included) re-install and re-play AoD and DR
