I can actually feel this happening with certain games, mostly multiplayer related.Don't worry, happens to everyone. You keep aging, brain function keeps declining, one day some RPGs just become too hard. You had a good run, old man, but it's over now. It's time to stop playing games, sit down in your rocking chair, and turn on TV Trwam.Uninstalled. This is not worth the nerves.
That -is- a real thing in a competitive game especially. Your fast twitch muscle and reflexes will absolutely get slower and you are just not going to be keeping up w/ 15 year olds in that department. Games like Counterstrike (CS:GO for you newfags), RTSes, and competitive FPS, etc. you will get dunked on.
We have enough gamers in there 40s, 50s, and probably 60s now that they really ought to have "leagues" by age or something. In the same way you wouldn't have a collegiate athlete playing sports against a 50 year old, there should be some sorting by age function out there for gaming but nobody has thought of it yet or nobody cares.

Shit sucks, you may not have noticed. The one negative comparison I'd make to AOD is that I feel much less compelled to immediately start another character.
with all due respect but didn't you cheat your way through AoD?Shit sucks, you may not have noticed. The one negative comparison I'd make to AOD is that I feel much less compelled to immediately start another character.
But your brain did.
Gave myself 100 exp that were spent on chatty skills, made the game far more interesting as there was more than a single thing to do all the time (Murder everything).with all due respect but didn't you cheat your way through AoD?Shit sucks, you may not have noticed. The one negative comparison I'd make to AOD is that I feel much less compelled to immediately start another character.

seems to me mr. Lhynn that you're not the biggest fan of Iron Cross Studios games.
you forgot to mension that robots are equiped with panic grenadesdoes that remove all the fucking overhead gantries and chokepoints to 'squeeze through' (tm)
No. And I was just joking around. I had high social skills, which is easy mode regardless of starting difficulty. I didn't skip every faction fight and I did do most of the optional fights. But I never even had the option of fighting Cobra (she was there to escort me rather than fight despite my slightly negative Church rep) and I didn't do things like the last fight in Mission Control* because fuck that. I agree that the positioning at the start of fights is also ridiculous, outside the arena in the Pit. Also, the small maps and lack of cover made many fights devolve into just standing in one spot and trading shots once whatever consumables are deployed. Moving is a waste of AP and only invites reaction fire. Plus there is nowhere to go until it is time to hunt down any turtling enemies.
Seriously, who the fuck designed that one? You start surrounded by two 120 HP combat robots with energy weapons and four energy turrets, two of which you are probably going to want to use 600 credit grenades on. And then oh yeah tEH AiR iS pOIsOn loL! Basically you either have computers, engineering and sneak all on the same character or fuck off
It's odd to see codexers giving sloppy blowjobs to a game this limiting, restrictive, and railroaded.
If the graphics were chibi anime characters none of you would put up with this.
Possibly the wrongest opinion of the year, right here. Then again, given the reactions to Disco Disco, that may be the wet dream ultimate expression of the genre for some of the storyfags around here.
agreed, because this isn't a game you want to play for the writing.Possibly the wrongest opinion of the year, right here. Then again, given the reactions to Disco Disco, that may be the wet dream ultimate expression of the genre for some of the storyfags around here.
Big crits are fun as fuck right? Biotech is a bitch w/o a tag but there aint a imba too significant of an implant upgrade to lose that way. As for the main skill - yeah, it was excessive in some encounters. In some (vs monks it wasn't though but there's always the right consumables).ught: can you have a respectable murderhobo who can also open every door/box/computer, without mastermind?
Rifle Man actually did very well in second half of the game - you get enough energy cells and crit chance to essentially hit anything for 20-30 damage per shot. I forgot to go take out Mad Dog,

But mastermind shouldn't affect skill xp right? I think tag + skill monkey + mental fortitude from 3 frog brains should be enough to get everything to 10 by the end of the game, maybe with one com, ele, lockpick training token.Thought: can you have a respectable murderhobo who can also open every door/box/computer, without mastermind?

The speech mini game in CS is forgiving in that you can fail a check and make up for it on the next one. I know at least once, I was a point too low and passed the next check and ended up getting the result I was after. Initial disposition at the beginning of the conversation plays a role too. So for speech at least, it is not all about having a certain number in a skill but about reaching "10" by the end of the conversation. You also get points in all three speech skills every time you succeed in conversation, regardless of how you got there. For other skills either you can pick the lock/hack the console/etc or you can't but that seems entirely reasonable. That's actually what I hate most about ITS design. The all or nothing skill minimums. They're not even checks in the normal sense of the word, they're Amber style, "you must be this tall to pass" gates.

That's basically Abyss/god ending in AoD. Either you had the stats or you were fucking off. I wish there was more content and restrictive gating like this. Exploring AoD with different builds was fun.
I just reloaded an old save and I was able to bypass that fight by doing what lukaszek said. Basically you just need sneak at two and a decent cloak on the guy with the science skills (Computer 7) and you're good. There was one crate and a door that I couldn't open. But I was able to get to the important stuff and access the lander, which I believe opens up a new ending that wasn't available to me originally. Definitely going to finish the game from there at some point......Seriously, who the fuck designed that one? Just adding to the list of contrived positioning: questgiver is expecting trouble, you're waiting for the enemies to arrive yet your team is the one out in the open
Beat it just fine but it's still tiring having to deal with such bullshit.
Do they throw grenades in that fight? I just camped behind the rail in smoke. To be fair starting behind the elevator railings provide cover, but it's still a disadvantageous position. Getting bunched up in there means eating grenades and limited LOS.
Two have flashbangs iirc, maybe they don't use it when the target's under smoke, I didn't use any. I'll try that when I do it again, thanks. Decided to leave it for later since I used precious Disruptors.Do they throw grenades in that fight?
