Yes, that's what I want in my medieval history simulator. A content pack giving my character a wardrobe.
How about meaningful and interactive banditry/piracy/raiding with state sponsored bandits and pirates and interaction between that stuff and intrigue and diplomacy and also meaningful realm administration which also interacts with that stuff? Not in CK3 though. Where the titular feature doesn't even work and would still be trash if it did.
PRE-ORDER AXIOMS NOW 20% OFF
Nah, pre-order sales imply the real price is illegitimate. I opposes sales for games unless it is like a 10 year anniversary sale or something.

Don't get what is so bad about tournaments, seems to fit the setting.
Is there anyone who objects to tournaments in the game? Some people would prefer a different focus and some would prefer a different implementation but no one outright rejects them.

Tournaments were fine as a short event chain in CK2, a full DLC about them is a waste of time. Can't wait for more decisions about which of 3 people I've never seen before and who are irrelevant to me should get that juicy +20 opinion bonus for 5 years though.

Paradox will go to any lengths to avoid adding meaningful content to their flagship title. I expect a DLC that'll be all about your pets, letting you pamper them as much as you like, cats, dogs, horses, pigs, and maybe even a platypus (how did a platypus get into medieval Europe? Shut up.)! Maybe followed by the Sex & Debauchery DLC which will be basically softcore porn in text form, all the while carefully avoiding being explicit enough to be marked as mature on the store page. You can even turn your ruler trans in it (Shut up bigot, it's historical, Elagabalus was trans). Then, it may come the time where the unwashed hordes of filthy customers get unruly, and demand some (may Allah forgive me for uttering the word) mechanics. That's when Paradox will pull out their trumph card – Sunset Invasion for CK3! And even better than in CK2, as it won't be the Aztecs invading you, it will be the strong and fierce Amazons (yes I know the Amazon rainforest and the Amazons from myth have exactly zero connection bar the name, shut the fuck up you nerds)! They'll arrive with a doomstack of about 50 million troops (immune to attrition) and force any country they invade to switch to a strict matriarchy. Also they'll all be lesbian, and will help any women they encounter find out they're lesbian as well. Only for $29.99.

Axioms does a lot with Social Occasions but if your social simulation is very shallow I suppose they could be less than impressive as is the case for CK3.

Well one of the competitors of Wards and Wardens was Lovers and Lust or w/e they called it so probably. After all why have 3D nude models but no hanky panky plus their Sims4 refugees with love it.

People win about $40 Slitherine games but a single DLC for CK3 is like $30-40 now. Imagine $50 for base game and $30 for DLC. People who buy these things should have to take a financial literacy and sunk cost fallacy therapy class. Cost? A mere $30.

I mean it is technically mechanics. But they did the typical Paratrash thing of tons of new systems totally separate from the game and heavily gamey shit because the AI can't handle the game already much less new stuff. Tiers and progress bars and other nonsense.

Is it just me or they made it into Diarchy mechanics because they remember how annoyed people were at Imperator: Rome not having Two Consuls?

Also I think this system would actually allow something like the late Merovingian Dynasty to actually work in the game. Puppet-Kings, yo!

Considering how moddable this system is, I think it would be fantastic for ASOIAF mods. Hand of the King, anybody?

Separate? It doesn't seem separate to me. Nor that gamey, either.
Reminder its coming to the base game, so they clearly consider it important.

It doesn't seem bad, in theory. I would rather wait to see it working. I'm sure we will see some regency silliness at first - then again, were the Merovingians silly?

I will hand it to you about the AI, but honestly, videogame AI is a neglected field.

The tiers made sense to me, they wanted to allow for short regencies without the player having to come back to a burning house every time he visits a noble on the other side of the border for five minutes. Not all Regencies are powerful. A rando regency doesn't evolve into defacto puppet kingery in five minutes, either.
Shockingly OPB is on my side as far as the scales and actions and the way you move them. I was pretty flabbergasted.

Uh, OPB?

He is a literal paid shill. Has his own affiliate store filled with Pdox games. Even has links like this in some of his videos:

The name should be a turn off alone. Anyone who makes their identity revolve around where they are from is sure to be as shallow as you'd expect.

That will backfire horribly, i had a friend who made a lesbian world mod where every woman was a lesbian and every government a matriarchy.
What happened in this perfect utopia?

Well as is often the case with stories of people playing god, my friend overlooked a crucial detail: Islam.
The powerful strong independent women that ruled the world decided to become the 4th-5th wifes of random landless arabs and within a few decades the perfect world of female harmony became that of the handmaiden's tale as arabs became the head of every major country and reverted gender equality whilst the female nobles who once ruled the world became glorified pets lying at the feet of their islamic masters and feuding with other wives in the vain hopes of moving up in the wife hierarchy.

There was a lot of wisdom gained from that game I'll tell you.

Is there any cool mod that makes use of the struggle mechanic? It's something that's quite interesting, but being limited to Iberia it's not something you encounter often. Hopefully Paradox themselves will improve and expand on it at some point.

Any of these mods actually fun? I tried Elder Kings for CK3 and just couldn't bear how boring it was. Nothing was happening. Decisions were pointless (learn Daedra language? Why? And why is the reward so worthless? What the fuck?) and all the fun shit from CK2 predecessor was missing.

See above, Fallen Eagle.

(And, ofc, there are other mods similar to CK2+ and HIP for CK2, but dunno if you care about those more limited mods that just aim to improve the vanilla experience.)

Probably not. They were pretty weak even in CK2, tbh. Better than vanilla, but not enough to make me wanna return to them

See above, Fallen Eagle.
Well I see the bookmarks, and some of them look cool as fuck, but that doesn't say much about what the mod actually brings to the table. If it's just a bookmark then that's worthless.
