Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I had a look at the global best sellers on Steam for the last three weeks. Cyberpunk 2077 has been in third spot three weeks in a row.

really curious to see how many copies they'll sell. cyberpunk projects usually turn out to be financial failures but cdpr tried their best to make their game to look like gta in the future and made it as zoomer friendly as possible in the hopes of getting the gta/fortnite audience to buy their game. they definitely have redditors buying their game thanks to glitcher 3 and keanu reeves. they recently lost the woke crowd because jason schreier's reporting of crunch and that one advertisement with the girl with the dick, but who knows if these people were even planning on buying the game in the first place. i hope it sells well just so more cyberpunk games are getting developed, maybe even by an uncucked dev next time. microsoft could give arkane the shadowrun license for example.

Y'know, I actually wouldn't mind a Cyberpunk (real Cyberpunk) game set in some slav place. Have all the gopnick culture of rural areas interspersed with hostile and authoritarian city areas. Like a mix of what people thought GTAPunk was going to be and Stalker.

Sounds like a versus to current Cyberpunk 2077. And a game worth making. But poles would take it too seriously, like an actual offense.

I can't wait to hear the exact same NPC conversation when passing the same place for the 50th time like in Witcher 3. Nothing makes the world feel more alive!

"I'm wary of current industry trends and their potential fallout. Clearly the best way to present my argument and to demonstrate that I'm someone who's to be taken seriously is to wear lipstick and a steampunk hat."

I don't even disagree with the bulk (har har) of what he's saying, but I hope he's ignored just out of spite.

So this game will be true to Witcher 3's absolutely unnecessary and inane character progression? In both cases it would be better if the "character progression" didn't exist and a focus on more dynamic itemisation that has tangible impact instead. Alas it seems RPGs or RPG wanna-bes can't get itemisation right anymore. Only PoE1/2 in recent memory has good itemisation.

He's really quite intelligent but being a lefty and a fat fag drags him down.

Sterling implying Philip K Dicks politics is a new low for him. Especially when he cited Blade Runner and not DADOES.
Dick was very open about his distrust of communists. Everything he wrote about was more to do with paranoia and his own psychological episodes. The political stuff was mostly because it interested him but he publicly stayed out of it with exception to his dealing with the FBI. But if you look at his actual political stance it goes contrary to what Sterling is suggesting. Blade Runner is NOT political, Blade Runner/DADOES is about the ethics of being human.

DADOES is about the ethics of being human
DADOES is a parable about empathy masqueraded as a cyborg-hunting thriller. And that's why I like it.

As for PKD views on communism... say no more:

In 1974, Philip K. Dick wrote a letter to the FBI, accusing Stanislaw Lem of heading up a Communist conspiracy among the American science fiction community.

It's ironic because Lem considered Dick to be the only worthy author in American sci-fi.

Sterling is fucking retard. Philip Dick view on communism was very similar to how Jordan Peterson see it. It's a system where the worst of human traits are being used to build a society of self-contempt slaves. It's like an entropy, destroying humanity and making people full of resentment. It makes people distrust others, divides community into tribal groups where you can't think by yourself. Yeah, he had paranoia, he was scared as fuck of being controlled by terrestrial entity. But that wasn't political in today's retarded meaning of this word. He wrote about ideas and universals.

Truth be told, he often makes valid points but somewhere down the line he got crazy, probably by breathing the methane from his own farts a little too much, believing he is some kind of holy authority in video game industry.

Even this video about CDPR was mostly valid and did make good points.

But pink lipstick on a fat slob of a middle aged man? Like, seriously?

I still watch him, he makes really good commentary when it comes to games, when hes about things surrounding the industry though... well not so much.

I also actually do not mind his eccentric way of presenting himself, he always did that and it irritated me more originally, when he styled himself more akin to a "supreme leader", but in hindsight it does not distract from the valid points he makes.

A pluralism in opinion is worthwhile, even if I think some takes he has are abhorrent (equating claims of bad behavior as evidence for example or his anti-gamer aristocrat persona) but I think he is in general coming from a good place and his influence when it comes to gaming in general is positive, for the costumers.

It is actually one of those aspects where we can see that politics are one thing but gamers on all sides of the political spectrum have something to revolve around, and as long as that happens it's a net positive.

At this point, i hope at the last second of this new release date. CDPR is going to announce that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be cancelled.

The Fallout is going to be so massive, it's going to break the Internet just to complete 2020 fuckery.

Check your echo chamber, the "fallout" is comparable to the one with the cancelled preorders when they announced the previous delay.
