Cyberpunk 2077 Re-confirms December Release Date After Delay Rumors
CDPR doubles down on December 10th release date.

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has responded to rumors that another delay for its hotly anticipated RPG could happen — possibly pushing the title into 2021. Rather than deny the rumors, the developers reaffirmed its new December 10 release date.

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” a CDPR representative told IGN in response to a request for a comment on the latest delay rumors. “But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

The statement was issued after a rumor began circulating that Cyberpunk 2077 could be delayed again for a fourth time after the developers recently pushed the RPG back from a November 19th release date to December 10th.

The reason for the most recent delay is, according to CDPR, bringing parity to Cyberpunk 2077 across nine versions of the game that span across current-gen, next-gen, and PC. The 21-day delay is meant to ensure Cyberpunk 2077 runs smoothly on Xbox One/X, Xbox Series X|S, PS4/Pro, PS5, PC, and Stadia.

The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account also updated its header image to include the December 10th release date, doubling-down on the revised date as the official one.

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a bit of a rocky lead-up until launch, with reports alleging the developers have been given a mandatory crunch to meet its deadline. CDPR co-founder Adam Badowski confirmed the required overtime and said employees will be well compensated for their time.

Nope, even mediocre AA open-world RPGs like Outer Worlds sell 3 Mio in a year despite being on Gamepass, Cyberpunk 2077 sell 10 Mio + no matter how boring or broken it will be.

Just because they put up the date on the banner doesn't really confirm anything. If it turned out the leak was real, they could get in trouble with the FSA, who is most likely keeping close tabs on what's going on like a vulture, waiting for them to slip up so they can fine them, as they already pulled quite a number with selling off those shares a while back before announcing the delay. They put up the banner to stop the rumors, they might still announce a delay at a time they had planned.

The game went Gold some time ago and the console discs are already being mass produced. Anyone thinking there would be another major delay wasn't thinking at all.
For what it's worth, I've read that there were games that weren't released AT ALL even after going gold.
But if anyone thinks they would pass up December's sales, he/she/it is completely delusional.

Though they already skipped Black Friday sales peak (which happens all over the world nowadays btw) after going gold.

Hey, gamers! We know there’s one game left in this generation that’s been getting you more pumped than anything else. In fact, this open-world RPG from CD Projekt Red is probably one of the things that has kept you going through this tough year. But we need to just come clean and get this off our backs: Cyberpunk 2077 is not a real game. It was just something we made up to sound cool and interesting in front of you so you would like us and now that lie is spinning completely out of control.

[...]
We just really like when you hang out on the site, and we wanted you to stick around. That’s why we made it up way back in 2012 and got the developer to play along.

[...]
To be fair you probably should have figured it out years ago. The idea of a sci-fi shooter from the makers of The Witcher series was always a bit of a wish fulfillment fantasy wasn’t it? Obviously, we’re not trying to absolve ourselves of this. But we kind of assumed you would catch on when we claimed Keanu Reeves was going to be in the game. That doesn’t make any sense if you just think about it for a second.
[...]
Unfortunately, we also aren’t able to refund any of your pre-orders. That money is already spent.
