So I was testing weapons and it fucking dawned on me that you can dual wield weapons with less strength than the requirement, cuz it counts as two handing.

What the fuck From. How the hell are you so bad at this shit.

EDIT: there's a very special place in hell for people who pronounce Havel as 'hay-well'.

I didn't know there was a boss in the road of sacrifices. They really hid the crystal sage well.
I like how the game diverges at this point. You can continue to the farron woods or diverge to the cemetery.

I have had mixed luck with being summoned for co-op. Seems like a lot of people are too stupid to bear the abyss watchers and before I do.

PVP has a lot of rolling faggot shit that is annoying me. I won't willingly try pvp until I get a red eye orb, I don't want to run out of cracked red eye orbs.

What.

If rolling annoys you invading will drive you apeshit within half hour. Constant rolling, instant chugging, shitload of estus by half game, matches lasting 10+ minutes, 2-3 friendly phantoms, host popping a seed half the time. Duels and fighting clubs is what most sane players resorted to. I suspect that's why there are a few Reds, therefore not enough Blues and Darkmoons. Kudos FromSoft for trying to make the game more accessible to crybabies, have a star.

I spent sth like 2 hours walking around as a Darkmoon Blade in the Lothric castle yesterday. Wasn't summoned even once. Is this area dependent, as in, only possibe in Londo or sth?

These people are good.

Why are you spoiling yourself by watching boss fights before you've faced them yourself? You really can't brag about beating stuff on the first try when you already know how to do it.

I'm not bothered by spoilers. It won't make me better at the game

Not mechnically, but theoretically since you'll have prior knowledge of boss moves and attacks. And just figuring that out - when it's safe to attack and when to GTFO - is like half the battle, and it's been fought for you by someone else. But whatever, it's your experience.

It's been known since the start the Blues and especially Darkmoons are borked. For some reason most people never get summoned. 2 hours? I spent walking close to 100 hours with either the Blue or Darkmoon badge equipped and was summoned twice as a Blue. Never as a Darkmoon.

They supposedly loosened the summoning conditions in the latest Reg but due to the problems I described above nobody is invading anymore so there's noone to protect.

Beat wolnir. He was a piece of cake, but I didn't expect him to have poison all around him. That red fire demon that is blocking a bonfire was crazy and one-shotted me with a fire with bad hit detection. Afterwards, there is someone shooting a great arrow at my character and I can't tell from where.
This new location is easily the best looking one so far, I just hope at level 40, I'm not underleveled because my health is really low.

I'm quite surprised that there have been so many easy/gimmicky bosses early on. Reminds me of DS1 bosses, maybe the 2nd half of this game will be more difficult in that regard.

Shit is fucked, doesnt matter which area you in. Though surprisingly when I was farming souls in Lothric to get to level 120 I was summonend 4 times almost in a row as darkmoon. Ofcourse always into a ganksquad where the red had died the moment my loading screen was over

If you want to create a fightclub, pop the dried finger, make sure Aldrich is still alive and summon reds near the Sulyvahn Bonfire. The only fun you can have with pvp in this game.

fuck, I'm just going to stop playing this game until poise is patched back in. Black knights are raping me and this invader pissed me off with this katana bullshit.

Learn how to use hyperpoise properly. Once you do all problems usually go away in PvP as ton of people don't do that.
Also special skills are super worthwile especially something like Persevernce on maces which gives you both hyperpoise and hyperarmor and you can shrug off anything in short time usually getting solid 2 hits for one small hit yourself.

Also backstep. Unlike DS2 and DS1 backstep in this game really gives you room to spare for instant counter and that counter from backstep has increased both stun damage and hyperpoise period.

If you play with bigger weapons you will get nowhere until you learn it.

What all weapons have you all settled on? So far I haven't found anything I love. I'm not a big fan of super heavy weapons, though regular greatswords are ok. So far been using curved swords and daggers (bandit knife and the corvian great knife.)

I really like maces this time around. Swords are great and all but maces seems to be improved a lot since both DS1 and DS2 days were they were clunky chucks of metal. Now not only their moveset is improved but also usually come with really great L2 special that usually works really well. Warpick my favorite shit weapon from earlier games also got nice boost due to moveset change. Also most of heavy armors have stat reduction vs strike so you do more damage than normal swords at a cost of very little speed. R2 changed attack is brutal and works really well in both PvP and PvE.

In PvE they really work. PvP on other hand is where its special rekts all estocs and other cookie cuter builders.
Dark infused mace or morning star is death sentence for all armored enemies in DS3

Didn't play much with bigger weapons but i like what they did to pole weapons. Lucerene absolutely punishes anyone trying to run away with its R1 from run attack which basically never allow you to lost dude. Poleweapons special attack finished with R2 is just pure rape.

Crescend axe this time is pole weapon instead of axe and i was surprised by its awesome but gimmicky special and r2 attack after you use warcry. Second R2 attack with warcry on is absolutely bonkers but i don't think there will be that many people getting caught by it. On monsters it works well though.

My go to currently with my new char is either mace or lucerene. Both because they are for different things.

Persevernce on maces which gives you both hyperpoise and hyperarmor

You forgot hyperstability, hypersteadness and hyper-anti-stagger. All those five things are completely different you know.

Yes they are different. I don't understand why people use hyperarmor which was used for parry damage reduction in previous games and they use now for poise which doesn't have anything to do with armor and damage reduction in first place.

If you miss parry in DS1 or DS2 you don't get full hit you get huge damage reduction which was called hyperarmor.

When you use mace skill you have boosted armor for damage reduction and infinite poise.
If you use R2 attack you get infinite poise only.

Which is why they are different as they do two entirely different things.

By who? By you?

Because when everyone else says, "hyper armor" they mean the hidden stat that prevents heavy weapons users from being staggered mid-swing.

It's been like that since Demon's Souls, stop being a retard.

Don't really care for how it was named in DeS. In DS1 it was used for parry damage reduction and all actions that produced additional armor.

I guess it makes sense for DeS players to use it that way but we are talking about DaS not DeS. Concept is similar but DS games had/have poise so it doesn't make sense to use two separate therms for one thing. Call it what you want, it is semantics either way. Difference between just infinite poise on attack and infinite poise + increased armor on maces exist.

Saying mace skill has increased armor and hyperarmor doesn't make really any sense btw

I mostly agree. But for me: best pvp is low level pvp. And that can take place anywhere.

Up until level 75 I had some great time invading other noobs like myself or getting invaded. There is nothing like getting invading when you are in a bad spot. And I'm always smiling like an idiot when it happens to me :)

Starting with level 100 the fun is gone. Everybody has a pvp build with maximum damage on some shit (usually katanas, estocs or glaives) and the fights are mostly decided before they start. Not always but usually.

That's why I play close to the end game and then I simply quite/restart the game.

Yeah, I love invading and being invaded as a side activity in my PvE playthrough. But when people twink the shit out of themselves and do nothing but PvP for weeks on end, then it's not exactly fun being invaded by them. You simply lack the knowledge and training to compete with them. It's like a tennis match against a pro who trains twice a day.

Ideally the twinked out builds and PvP specialists should be relegated to fight clubs but it's probably tough to implement. Maybe take out the Red Orb again and limit the availability of Red Cracked Orbs? Dunno.

While i don't approve on using walkthroughs I must say that pseudo-elitism surrounding this franchise is fucking disgusting.
