I found out few weird things about DS3 refresh system:

- first i play on my TV and it supports 50hz refresh rate (which is awesome if you can't hit quite 60fps). When game runs in FULLSCREEN mode game doesn't actually use VSYNC. It uses some internal framerate check and autoassumes that you are playing game at 60fps. So with my 50hz mode game produced judder.
- To actually fix it you need to run game in borderless mode which forces true VSYNC with TRIPLEBUFFERING on game thus i can play in 50hz mode which is close to 60fps to be ultra smooth but way past 30fps which compared to 50hz mode is not so smooth.

BTW if you want to play borderless here is good program:

Yup that is how i feel almost exactly. Though i would add music. So far this is best OST this year.

The music is good, really? So far its bombastic ear raping orchestrals every single time where music is played, gone is the subtle and somber music that actually adds.to.the atmosphere.

The combat feels kind of...jittery? I don't know. Feels like it's all about getting the jump on enemies, where if you hit them once, you stunlock them to death. But if you don't hit them first, they have all sorts of weird attack patterns designed to punish you for letting them attack - the mutants being a prime example of this, there's just no way to read their movements on the fly.

It's certainly a move in a completely different direction than DaS2, which was all about deliberate actions in a relatively slow-paced environment.

Spot on. This is my sentiment.

Huh, wierd. Worked fine this morning but now whenever I rest or switch area the games goes into slow motion, like it's runnig at half speed or something. I can "fix" it by changing back and forth between resolutions, but that's gonna be quite the hassle if this continues...
EDIT: Updating nvidia drivers appears to gave solved it actually.

This is how I felt with DS2 when I played it. Stun locking everywhere

One negative I have to say about the game is that the bosses are way too easy. I already defeated half the lords of cinder, and there hasn't been any bosses I died more than 5 times to.

Spoke too soon, turns out I missed a boss in Irithyll and he's absolutely destroying me.

And the magic is over.

DaS3 might be the first game were "normal" mobs are harder than the bosses. Frost Knight is a bitch. The harpies from the forest are insane.

I know. There are many arguments (get gud) but the bottom line is this: designing mobs with infinite stamina is simply indefensible. Basically the game stopped being DaS and it started being Bloodborne. Absolutely awful.

Fuck Miyazaki and his fucking retarded design. DaS3 is proof that he is as clueless as any other designer in the industry (Gothic, Obsidian): When DaS games are 90% combat and the previous system worked for 3 games (DeS, DaS and DaS2), what in the world could justify the changes to the combat system?

But I think I know the answer: reusing Bloodborne engine and going for the retarded audience. And with that, all my fears came to fruition. I will try to finish this abomination but I don't know. I feel like giving up. First time for me playing a DaS game.

And some advice: Stop bashing DaS2. That game was mechanically sound. It was fair. It was tactical. This one: it's a fucking joke.

I gotta agree with toro here (fuck). I only "demo-ed" DaSIII so far, but I think I'll skip a full price purchase.

Combat feels very aggressive but not for the right reasons. The slower, methodical approach of the predecessors is gone. Now my tactics revolves around circling, backstabbing and rolling for the heavier dudes. And that with a full-armored Knight. The mobs are just slash-slash-slash roll. I'm also not impressed with the level design so far (Undead Settlement), but I suppose that will open up. I'll just stop playing and go for a 75% Steam sale in a year or two with all the DLC. Probably will replay DaS2 rogue build instead.

This really feels more like Dark Souls: The Force Unleashed.

Played for an hour, killed Index Faggot on my first try (surprisingly) thanks to the firebombs found near. Got to Firelink Shrine, the dialogue with all NPCs there is so unimaginative by far. Not as cryptic as it always was. But anyway I'm glad the game finally came out.

With the retarded and completely unnecessary change in combat, the enemies really should follow the same rules as the player especially when it comes to stamina.

This game definitely has the worst combat out of the Souls games. So far. Don't see how it could change by me playing further, but maybe it does!

Started again as a knight, went to the crystal lizzard run circles around him until he died and gave me 4k souls. Which I think was more than the first boss. I dont understand this game. Thats the second boss or miniboss I did by just running around him.

Lol you clearly dont remember people bitching about infinite stamina knights two handing maces with insane tracking? Cause that bread& butter of DS2 mobs. Playing STR character with zweihander i just send all those faggs flying 10 feet high in the air.

Also lol at slow methodical approach aka hiding behind the shield. Real man two hand his axe or dual wield if he is a dex fag

Also actual meta in pvp right now is turtling behind havels shield and poking with estoc so here is your DS1 combat

Bosses are really easy but more imaginative than DS2's pathetic roster.

Yeah, fuck variety. There should only be one way to play this game - my way!

Major problems right now:

-Huge problem with crashes, stuttering, inability to connect to online, Default-stance gliding enemies make the game unplayable.

Mechanical problems:

-Unit spam that's 5x worse than DS2, coupled with every enemy outside of hollows having infinite stamina and high damage, and probably the most obscene, slow-tracking attacks I've seen in the souls series up to this point.

-Invasions have ceased to exist, replaced with red invaders only being able to invade parties of 3 or more white phantoms. Whoopee, way to breathe longevity in to your franchise!

Whacky-Eddy commentary:

Faggot souls fans once again, instead of acknowledging the fact GTX 980 users cant run the game or can only run it at 20 fps on low settings are chimping out with gems like "SO WHAT!" and are also bragging about how much they love the new matchmaking system, since "invaders have no right to ruin their experience". Goddamn what miserable little SJW cretins.

Have you played a Souls game before? Tons of bosses (and especially minibosses) can be beaten simply by strafing around them at point-blank range. Especially the big ones whose legs you can walk under.

All I see are fags complaining about one thing then proclaiming that the combat is the worst while defending DS2.

I don't know what part of DS2's awesome combat I liked most. Was it the enemy attacks that would track 180 degrees mid-swing? Or the grab attacks that would connect even when they visibly didn't, so you'd teleport into their hands. Maybe it was the infinite stamina statues. Or the fact that you needed to pump a stat just so your roll didn't suck dick (great mechanic 10/10). Though of course, who could forget the game's many memorable bosses like Ornstein V2, [collection of mob enemies with a boss healthbar] x4, Gargoyles V3 (worst one yet!), and the climactic battle against Nashandra!

Fume Knight and Sir Alonne were good fights, I'll give it that.

Only second and I had more problems there. But since I am in the very beginning I wont complain.

Whats different now with invasions? Cant you just invade using items like before?

Yes but you will only be matched up against enemy parties, instead of just 1 guy like before. They took pvp in to a retarded direction. Also, invaders get less health and their estus halved.
