Sawyer wanted Van Buren to have a turn-based/real-time toggle like FOT, and also co-op play. I don't believe he has ever apologized to the fans for this and admitted he didn't get Fallout.
I don't recall those being his decisions at all. They were using the Jefferson engine which already had RT in place and they were working to add TB rather than make it RT(wP) only. That was management-level decision making, not Sawyer's. As far as I recall. Same for co-op, already in the engine.

Also haven't seen Sawyer act like an asshole even though there is a lot of Sawyer hate.

And I doubt you ever will.

I remember that. But man, I can't blame him. Looking back, the depth of detail we argued with Van Buren is crazy when it now looks like the perfect Fallout game in comparison to the shit we get shoveled on us now.

I feel like I divorced Sawyer and now I'm begging to have him back. PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER FALLOUT JES.

Say what you will about Todd and Pete, but at least these two guys still know how to laugh all the way to the bank.
Sort of. Bethesda folk do check up on NMA and probably the Codex too and I've heard rumblings of poor reception at their office of - say - my extended deconstruction of Emil's take on BoS history (which was full of holes and bad ideas). But they'll never let that stuff come out in the open, their PR is much more tightly managed and they're not as clueless about community management. Bethesda should win an award for PR in Video Gaming each year every year. It's the only part of their staff where I can honestly say they probably have some of the most talented people in the industry.

I think that might be the reason Project: Eternity has RTwP and coop play.

Whoa whoa whoa. Co-op in PE? Are you hopelessly wrong or did they change their tune since the KS and I missed the word?

Also, if I was Gaider, I'd probably not use the internet in my free time at all. I'm kinda surprised he does.

What? No multiplayer? Not even pvp? Then why the fuck would you balance the combat?

In case there's good AI ?
I wouldn't count too much on that, but i can't totally get rid of some sort of tentative hope on that one...

Because randomness and chaos in RPGs is like unto poison to Josh Sawyer.

As is anything in sufficiently high doses, while a controlled intake of a poisonous substance may well act as an antidote. Anyways, he's wasting time and burning money on stupid shit that nobody in their right mind would want, instead of adding team deathmatch arena and Moba-style multiplayer.

In case there's good AI ?

It's time to make new IP mister Gaider, a world when there are none black and white choices. Only grey ones, 50 of them. Make it RPG, where you can whip girl for XP in some basement. That should ease the pain of fanboys.

Whenever I think of the game's Bioware and Bethesda make, I always think of a gigantic corporate studio with hundreds of employees who are all incompetent, and the only way they even manage to put out games is by brute force, by throwing tens of millions of dollars at the project until finally some turd rolls off the conveyor belt. Meanwhile the best games in history were made by tiny teams of talented and creative people.

Re; Sawyer and PE multiplayer, co-op, randomization: there was a huge discussion about randomization a while ago. Please look at his comments about weapon damage and dodging to get an idea of his stance on randomization (he doesn't hate it, he thinks it should just be a little less relevant than it was in D&D). Re: co-op, it's always been SP from the beginning. Re: balance, he isn't aiming for a "perfect balance" between classes. It's some other kind which I don't really understand myself.

on-topic  at Gaider's toupee.
