The worst part of this series is the big cities with many houses and loading times for every single one both entering and exiting. That's what makes parts of the story feel like something you suffer through.

Otherwise fun games.

Get a SSD.

That only helps a little bit. You can load the entire game into a ramdisk and the loading times for those tiny indoor areas will still be ridiculously slow - really anything slower than instantaneous should be unacceptable. We're not talking about crazy-detailed 3D levels here. And if it was the disk speed or latency is the limiting factor (which for Pillows it is not) it is still a failure of the Unity and incompetent devs to not sufficiently predload and optimize their data layout. No need to make excuses for incompetence.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
PoE1 stank, but I did enjoy PoE2 and will probably return to it again in the future. Definitely go with RTwP; I'm a turn based supremacist but the game is clearly designed for RTwP and the transition to TB did not go as well as it did in Kingmaker/WotR. It will take you 100 years to complete the game if you go TB. I have no interest at all in the west indies, pirates, or hawaiians, but somehow it still managed to keep me entertained.

Also, PoE2 has Rymrgand, the best god.

Hi, I wanted to update everyone. Well, after a few years, I did end up coming back to it and decided the juice is worth the squeeze. Some gripes about the unlimited rest system and spamming of spells, but its Likely the best RtwP game. Plot is mid but fine. So, thumbs up, it was indeed worth it.

Yea...I should clarify my post, i meant likely best RtWP combat system I have played, except the rest/per encounter that fails to create tension or conservation over multiple battles. Not necccessarily best overall game with RtWP, just combat system. If anyone knows of a better RTWP comabt system (I've done Kingmaker/Baulders Gate II/NWN), let's hear it.

Kingmaker, Wrath and BG3 are kinda better as Turn Based systems.
But as far as RTwP goes... you have a point.

To place KOTORs, Shadowrun and DAO above the Owlcat games, one needs a strange taste indeed.

Furthermore, "Larianshit", aka BG3, is in many areas far more advanced then all of its competition. There is some cringe and the story is a bit of a patchwork, but the game itself is great.

Honestly as much as I'm loathed to give Deadfire credit on anything, the RTWP implementation is the least of its concerns really. It's alright

Insert Title Here Pathfinder: Wrath
That's why the TB version of Deadfire is so much worse than the PF games.

PF RTwP is effectively TB with simultaneous movement (with a few strategic differences like the ability to disrupt spellcasting with damage in RTwP and to combine Charges with flanking), while Deadfire's entire system depends on it.
