All codex, grimoire, libram and treatise pages for Demise: Ascension have been updated and now show from which monster the last item was found and at which dungeonlevel.

I've written a little article on how to access gold and items from an adventurer that has died in the dungeon.
In Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol when you visit the square (x,y,z) or room where the adventurer has died,
you can exit to the Main Menu and select Exchange Items.
You then choose who you want to exchange items or gold with, this can be a living or dead character.
You now have the option to exchange gold and non-equipped items.
This was also a handy way to exchange items between good and evil characters, because of opposite alignment they can't be in the same party.
Mordor I was unique in this way. This feature disappeared in Mordor II: Darkness Awakening.

In Mordor II there is no way to get the gold, items or bank-items from a dead adventurer, other than rescueing and raising them.
Infinite Worlds introduced the Transfer Funds option from within the Bank in the city.
Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan and Demise: Ascension use the same routine.

See: https://www.city-of-marlith.com/mordor/exchange-items.html

well, I tried this game a few times, built a melee party and so forth to explore the first few levels, then I stepped onto a plate and got insta-wiped by some fish. Idk, can't really bring myself to create another party and rescue the fuckers. Should I push through this painful beginning, am I missing on something good?
On the other hand, I've been wanting to play Xeen since forever so maybe probably I'll go for that : |

A beginning party should stay within the first two levels of the dungeon, running around collecting stat-boosting tomes. When you grow your characters strong enough, then pushing deeper becomes more manageable and rewarding.

Ok, let's try here since I didn't found any answer anywhere : does anyone know of Erik's puzzle must be solved ? I see the reference to the snakes and ladders game, but... I'm stuck by the invisible force, and cannot move.
Was thinking about throwing a dice or something, but I have no dice....

Check out my new Mordor II maps (0.98b).
I've got dungeon levels 1, 2, 3 online.
Maps aren't 100% complete, but you can see:

0 floor messages
0 click and follow a fixed teleporter (shows the landing spot)
0 click and follow a chute (loads the next level)
0 take stairs up (loads the previous level)
0 take stairs down (loads the next level)
0 see monsters on the map and click on them to open their detail page in a new tab

See: https://www.city-of-marlith.com/mordor2/maps/level1.html

In addition to the maps, the monster pages have been updated.
The coordinates in the "Last Seen table" have been changed into hyperlinks.
When you click on them, the map gets loaded and is scrolled to the coordinates where the monster was last seen.
When you hover over the blinking cursor it shows a tooltip. For example "An Enchanter was here..."

See https://www.cityofmarlith.com/ascension/items/list-weapons-thief.html
Use guest/demise to login.

Burning Blade is ok for your current level!
You could consider switching to a Staff of Electrocution if you have any.
At level 76 you can use a Poison Dagger.
Test which weapon does the most damage for you and switch back if it disappoints.

also seems like something happens when i restored my old save. some of my characters forgoten spells that they certanly knew before since i had them in quickslots. i wonder if those spells are from treatises that somehow got screwed up when i did restore. like this one
jqY7Zmo.png

is this permanent fuckup?

Yeah those spells are probably from treatises donated at the guild hall.
Turning them in again should make the spells available again.

Everytime there's a major update from Decklin, you unfortunately loose progress:
0 Confinement reset
0 Store reset
0 Spells reset
0 Quests reset
0 Maps partly reset, you can restore squares visiited but loose anti-magic, anti-teleport, etc information.

When the update is installed and then you restore and old backup (from before the update) you basically screw up the game files again.
(The files in Ascension\System\Ascension).
So after an update, make a manual backup. This will give you a solid restore point.

My library says that the latest found Dust of Life(Raise Dead) was from a Dust Devil on level 20.
And the latest found Bells of Kwalish(Resurrect) are from a unknown source.
You can also try the Cross of Life which can cast Raise Dead. Last found on a Warrior of the Blade on level 20.

Try if you can buy Bells of Kwalish or Cross of Life from the store or Tavern Keeper's shop.
Good luck!

Excerpt from a FAQ/walkthrough:

"It is also wise that
all characters become guild master in all the guilds that they are a member
of to acquire a guild crest."

So you can only buy a guild crest from the store if you are Guild Master?
Some old The revelation version I could buy all crests in the beginning at level 1. If I remember correctly.

You earn a crest by doing a respective guild's mini-dungeon IIRC.

I have never seen a mini-dungeon in Kutan and DTR. What is that?

It's Ascension content. Accessible from the ledge directly across the dungeon entrance. The teleporter takes you to "the hall of the guildmasters", from where the individual guilds' mini-dungeons can be accessed. Each mini-dungeon can only be entered by a character of a respective guild.

Guild crests are earned just by leveling up (around level 50-60 depending on guild) and surpassing the current guildmaster.
Special guild training in Ascension is around level 150-200 (also depending on guild) and this "quest" needs to be fulfilled.
Each guild has a specific entrance, you can't take companions with you or other characters from your party.
Each guild also has a theme, for instance, for the Thief guild you need to pickup a key at the beginning and you need to run through the "special guild training dungeon" without the key being stolen from you.
For the Ninja guild you need to defeat the dojo. I think it was inspired by Kill Bill the movie.

Explorer is good for ALL Resist spells?
Can I reach 100% resist with him?

Or which class is for the best resist?

My party is Thief-Ninja-Paladin-Warrior.
I think I need an Explorer for moving, a Sorcerer for mass damage.
Anything else?

I do NOT want a Magi form charming. Because that is not fun. Charming is very complicated annoying process.
Seeking for hours a monster. Found it. Reduce its HP. Charm. Keep binding. I skip it.
