Btw as a noob I went automatically for a Barb, not metagaming at all. I just like to smash. Trying to go for a Frenzy build but should I regret? I'm watching YTs and strems where Sorceresses and Necros absolutely wreck shop with their AoEs and summons. They kill stuff like 10x faster than me.
You shouldn't watch youtube.

Honestly, just like Starcraft, I would honestly rather play a Carbot graphic remake than the Activision crap with the Manazon and homeless junkie druids.

But maybe that's just because Carbot is a fucking legend.

If you want to actually play and not rush through content with some rune word, barb is not easy. Just like anything that depends on good weapon, really. For solo sf, some pointers:
- find item to double shake uniques/super uniques for loot
- howl (yes, that level 1 skill) to not get swarmed
- battle cry to reduce enemy defence by 50% on level 1
- berserk to convert all damage into magic, thus ignoring physical resists.
- leap, of course.

personally, I dropped barb around Chapter 2 Hell last time I played solo because it's just too much work.

I am not even sure whirlwind is that good for solo play without good weapon.

In D3 Barb was an S-Tier speedrunning build, here it's a joke.

Is a non-Whirlwind Barb even viable on the hardest diff? I guess his 1v1 damage could get p. crazy with Frenzy but I suspect going through the hordes will be a slog.

Just play game and don't watch any guides. The whole fun is to figure things out as you play and be amazed from your own thinking and figuring out stuff. Later on when you will be experienced then it is time to compare notes and take in what you couldn't figure out.

Franzy is good skill and fun to use.

I never understood how anyone could play games like this with characters that don't have AOE attacks, seems like most tedious shit ever. It's why Whirlwind Barb is the only Barb I ever played.

Solo - sure. When you have a party of friends though it's another story.

Also it's not like the game demands of you to kill every trash mob. You can skip a lot, focus on elites/bosses, do a few runs back etc.

Unlike vast majority of ARPGs AOE damage in D2 is not the best way to play game. Yes it helps with normal mobs but the best drops are from rares and bosses which means D2 is single target heavy game.

Also some people just like to be men and hit things. Women and pussies on other hand choose ranged characters because they fear combat.

Not sure how can you believe it, most played builds are aoe area clearers, for loot, and good for xp; and miraculously such characters also feature fastest boss kills too (lightning zon). I think it's more like single target are specialists (shield slamming paladins or whatever).
And even for playing casually, it's a nightmare to clear all the trash now existing in the game - or, for ssf melee, to survive it sometimes. Even in classic, Chapter 4 is full of mobs making more mobs etc.
I'd say late D2 is the game that began clear speed meta and thus ruined many games after with its decisions.

If you're new and uncomfortable trying to figure out builds without reading a guide (and are playing singleplayer) then get PlugY which lets you infinitely respec. It also gives you infinite shared storage space you can build up a stash of runes and useful equipment for other classes you want to play.

Not an expert of Barb but I think the best ones are Frenzy and Berzerk with whirlwind being a distant 3rd or 4th place in viability.

Clicking fast to reorder an item and drop it in a new place in your inventory not working with Online character (Offline works correctly). You have to click, wait half a second, drop it in the new slot.

Unplayable.

I looked at characters, and that paladin was originally just a tanned person from Araby. They changed the character.
Necro was without pink color. Now he has pink color.

WTF is with these retards?

I was wondering if this is going to be a problem since the game had small popups about syncing with the server when buying anything from vendors in the open test. I don't know how Blizzard can continually get away with game releases being completely broken at release. WoW Classic was unplayable on certain realms for months and that's a subscription based game.

I found some fan made image, and tried to do some color compensation to make it look like near fire on original character creation screen.

p4TSde9.png

It might be smudge darker.

And this is on sunlight. I think I got it right.

Fanboys kinda forget, it's relatively dark near fire and it can change skin tone. (In original, they kinda screwed up with that assassin, if that assassin isn't a sorceress that plays to be an assassin.)

20 years ago I played Sorceress and especially Barbarian.

Now I am playing Druid, got to level 20 in a day (it is 4AM). It is a digital crack.

Druid seems powerful as fuck. Combination of summoner, fighter and mage in one.

Median guys said that they will be releasing initial version of median for D2R in a month of two. For now single player only. So those subhumans who like more boom and smash may rejoice.
