it really says nothing much if a low level demo takes 2-3x hits to kill a monster instead of 1x in a finished game at higher levels
I would say it sounds much like D1 and D2. But that single factor does not a full experience make.

PoE takes multiple hits at low levels to kill stuff too. "Clear speed meta" is, like all metas, a meta for endgame. Basically, as someone else alluded to, Perkel is full of shit.

You can clear an entire screen of enemies quickly in POE long before end game mapping.

1. It is not that hard to implement proper frame rate limiters and its actually hugely beneficial for gameplay. In-game frame rate limiters are extremely good for reducing input delay, they are better than any other method including driver-level limiters (which are admittedly still good).

2. There is no reason to run fucking game menus at 5000 FPS. "Lol your GPU was defective" is a fucking retarded take and people should be embarrassed posting it. Even if your GPU isn't overheating or frying itself, it's still wasting electricity and other resources pushing frame rates in a situation where it doesn't matter at all.

(not responding to you specifically Arbiter I'm just lazy)
Just looked up how to limit max framerate on my GPU. Capped it at 60fps. Hopefully it prevents games with shitty programming from killing my GPU.

Still not getting this game though.

Do you think that Mike Morhaime (Dreamhaven) or Rob Pardo (Bonfire Studios) can release anything to rival D4?

I think Morhaime is the more serious one.

Pardo's studio sounds pretty awful:

Rob Pardo, former chief creative officer at Blizzard Entertainment and lead designer of World of Warcraft[1] is joined by former CEO of Nexon America Min Kim,[4] game designer Josh Mosqueira (Homeworld 2,[5] Company of Heroes,[6] Far Cry 3,[7] Diablo III),[8] producer Sigurlína Ingvarsdóttir (Eve Online, Star Wars: Battlefront),[9] and former games journalist Morgan Webb (The Screen Savers, X-Play).[10]

The least autistic PoE player gives his perspective. He is usually a pretty positive guy and tries to do a measured and balanced take:

tl;dw:
- visuals are great
- UI is bad
- sound balancing is sometimes off, some of the soundtrack can get very annoying after a while
- game is heavily instanced and you'll see about a dozen players at most
- you can't opt out of the online
- other players ruin the immersion
- world is very Lost Ark-y, large open areas without any monsters
- world events are mostly about killing some monsters attacking carts, but sometimes you get a more interesting one
- dungeons are important to progression, as you unlock crafting recipes and quests there
- some dungeons feature the "kill all monsters in the zone" task which can get very annoying
- a lot of backtracking
- a lot of repetition in the layouts and bosses
- rumor has it that these dungeons are what you'll be running in the endgame (lmao if true)
- rest of zone completions tasks are standard boring AssCreed/MMO fare
- zone completion gives out very important rewards, so it will feel like a chore
- you have to collect herbs in order to craft xp buff elixirs
- world boss spawned approx 4 times during the weekend and is on a set schedule (fuck you, people with jobs/friends/life)
- world boss is aids for melee
- world boss can easily one-shot you, but his attacks are telegraphed
- looks spectacular but mechanically very simple
- world boss just despawns if your instance can't kill him in time (lul)
- rogue class is very bland, all skills feel the same, ultimates are very disappointing
- rogues use the dynamic melee/ranged system which lets you equip two sets of weapons and your character will use the appropriate one, he likes the system a lot
- skill tree is very simple and the customization options are very limited (only 2 per any given skill vs the 5 from D3)
- rumor has it that the Paragon system will enable much greater customization (COPIUMTRUCK)
- gear was very boring up until lvl 23-25 where the affixes started getting more interesting, maybe an upwards trend (COPIUMSHIPMENT)
- gear customization system is good and shines in comparison to other MMO-style games and within D4 itself (but nothing amazing compared to ARPG standards)
- his bottom line: it's Diablo Immortal + Lost Ark that you have to pay 100bux for

A great achievement for an indie studio like Blizzard. Hats off!

By "tactical" they mean the same braindead gameplay as other ARPGs but slower
