I've sorta glanced over Chaosbane, I remember thinking to myself - am I desperate enough?
There's a bunch of other stuff out there like Viktor Vran and Van Helsing which remind me of Frater / Well of Souls...
yeah, that takes me back to the bargain bin diving days of my youth. Perhaps not the kind of nostalgia I am looking for.
At the moment, I want to pay for a proper product that fucking delivers. Quality escort service, but a diablo clone.

The problem with most of the stuff, they can't get the basic atmosphere I'm looking for.
That feeling of being the sole beacon of light, descending into the den of pure evil which has twisted and made mockery of everything that's righteous.
Y'know, that classic christian gothic horror shtick.
Perhaps that's why I was rather charitable in my opinion on Inquisitor Martyr.

Dude is one of the more analytical and calm PoE streamers and has some insightful takes:

- warns about the trajectory Blizzard has been taking with their monetary policy

I really don't want to hear opinions about "monetary policy" from Path of 30 Dollar Capes players.

Although it seems to be a foregone conclusion that almost every arpg will now gouge you for cosmetics. Path of Exile does it. Torchlight Infinite does it. D4 will do it. Last Epoch was p much set up from the beginning to do it.

Game has literally a free pass to earn yourself cool and exclusive cosmetics every league. IMO if you're going to be a Blizzcuck and pay them 100bux just so they can fleece your nigga ass for literal p2w xp potions, you lose the privilege of complaining about monetization. Either vote with your wallet or shut the fuck up.

Every Diablo clone has free cosmetics, so what? PoE created the hardcore rinsing of players with grossly overpaid cosmetics in diablo clones, everybody else is just a copycat.

"If you don't like 30 dollar cosmetics you are a blizzcuck" is such a deranged take.

Tthat is not what I said, you nigger. But speaking of deranged - you clearly have no interest in quality conversation and it would be crazy of me to continue to read anything posted by you.

Torchlight 2 was probably best arpg "out of the box". They didn't want to work on it or do a worthy follow up though....

There is also Undecember and that new upcoming Hero themed H&S which name I cannot remember

they nailed the gameplay but making a diablo clone that looks like a disney movie completely misses the target audience

Except the itemization was retarded and every skill was OP no matter what you choose, then you were forced to play on the hardest difficulty and find out that there was not a single minute put into balancing. And I'm not talking about autistic balancing, but stuff like insane HP bloat on everything and normal mobs one-shotting your geared and optimized character if you are not insanely overleveled.

While POE is free, there are two problems with how the game handles cosmetics, as I see it. Apart from a few measly items, the only price groups that exist are "expensive" and "super expensive", and the other being that the regular gear in the game is both bland and lacks variety on purpose to borderline force people into buying more stuff than just stash tabs.

In PoE I was able to make Crook Mofus look like Crook Mofus with a viable Crook appropriate skills build and gear, so there's that.

So you spent a grand total of like $700 just for Diablo 4. People think I'm retarded.

Tbf I bought a steam deck and have only turned it on like 3 times.
I bought my first-ever custom computer for XCOM 2. How dweeby am I? :P
Xcom 2 is awesome though. Diablo 4 on the other hand well...
True dat. Annoying what T2 did to the launcher and indirectly to the modding community though, but oh well.

Lol noob. I have never bought a PC that was ready to use. It was always get parts and get it working myself.
Although I have to admit I have not done that for 7 years or so as gaming PCs are a luxury now.

No no no, I don't mean an Alienware or something like that, I mean my local techie guy helped me e-shop and did the assembly. I gave him the specifications, he gave me the price, we did business, and lo it was good. Guy's swell, total professional.

That is also not what I am talking about. You paid 20% more than if you just bought parts yourself and assembled it.

Yeah, I know, but I didn't know how to do so at the time. :U

Plus, as I said, he deserves the money. Always helped my folks out with their comp problems at a fair price, and if he couldn't fix it he didn't charge for repairs.
