Merciless basically removed gold and shopping, two things that I liked in D2.

Merciless basically removed gold and shopping, two things that I liked in D2.

but also lowered prices for hirelings and more inventory space. and stamina is less of a problem

Path of Diablo or Project Diablo 2 are better. I think Project Diablo 2 might also have an offline version.

I might need to get that, I've started a new character in Path of Diablo recently and even with using server close to me, there is too much desync and lag and it is irritating to play.
And my D2R is on Xbox and cannot be modded and hard to play well with a controller.

PD2 offline might just be what I need. I just need to find a place to buy D2 and LoD cheap as PD2 needs you to use legit version.

These mods use some graphic enhancements as well. Lets you use full resolution and full FPS

They do but they don't have the same lightning system and details of d2r.D2r looks even better than D4.
