Welp, there's another game that can come off the ol' watch list. Hopefully they'll drive enough money ships into the ground that the entire enterprise sinks. Microsoft rolls whatever's left in that soulless shell of a company into making fucking Windows updates.

Why was it even on your watchlist to begin with?

If they were talking about an auction house in which they take a small cut from each sale (of items strictly generated by the players and not created on demand), and use that to maintain and expand the game, that wouldn't be bad if they did it tastefully. Realistically, whatever this "storefront" might be, likely will be far from tasteful.

I'm guessing it's cosmetics just like in PoE.
Difference is that PoE is a free game...

I bought just inventory space for PoE but it's nothing since I've played for more than 100 hours.
I know that these are rookie numbers, but from a value standpoint it's great.
Maybe Diablo 4 can have it's own battle pass but I'm still going to play it.
Story, coop, exploring how the classes play, some builds. All is good value since I will be using blizzard money to purchase it anyway.

What's particularly disrespectful about this to the players is that they will bring in someone at the 11th hour of development, who is not a game designer, to decide product contents, pricing, and availability. Those things are arguably the most important element to design in any game with paid transactions.

No knight class, so D4 gets pass from me. They'll probably add it as DLC again.
