We need some kind of religion to keep us going.

A political ideology works too. :M
It's the same. A 20th century secular religion.
I genuinely wish there'd actually be such a thing as a secular religion based in natural science and human nature, including spiritual expression and established tradition. A faith not based on blind idealism, nihilism, and reductionism, nor belief in the supernatural, but genuinely progressive, balanced, and more reminiscent of confucianism and archeofuturism.

Humanism, anthropocentrism, and materialism are as false idols as any semitic faith.

I think Bester said it was selling for $12 or so in Russia, which (I think, going off the stuff that Vince disclosed regarding AoD sales) usually is in the top 3-4 countries for number of copies sold. So I'd be hesitant to attach any figures, for now.
Bester, can you confirm? Get it for me on GOG, I'll pay you back I swear.

LoL do you see me as a Disco caricature of a man? I do go around the streets and screech my own ideological slogans lol. Ideology is part of life, and life is what shapes us a human beings lol. I won't abandon my believes just because is have a kid, most likely will try to make him a honourable human being....and a good thief :).
You can't explain hunger to a sated man. Good luck. :)
You do know that this sentence goes for you too. I have raised two kids, and they turned pretty decent rational racist bastards. Why do you assume that every man would be a spineless cuck like you? I feel bad for your kids. You are one of those "do the best for their kids" and end up creating spoiled brats. I am more of a "hardship and consequences are good teachers".

Holy shit, it's true, according to this: https://gog.dionakra.com/

1088 RUB = 15 EUR = 17 USD.

Unless it actually means 10,88 RUB, in which case it's 0,15 EUR.
Seems unlikely.

That's a huge price difference and I genuinely want someone to buy it for me now. For reference, the price I'd have to pay is pretty much exactly 40 EUR, which is not disco.

So... Any indication of how the game is selling?

Is it a success? A flop? Middle of the road?
You can't put a price on true art...

Though God knows we try.

Missed opportunity to sell it for 1488 RUB.

BTW, how does it work - if you are gifting a game, you pay for it in your account's local currency, not in the currency of the account you are gifting it to? That's a serious fucking loophole if yes

IIRC, GOG gives you a code that you can give to anyone, but I could be wrong. The policy seems to be that you can gift cross-region with no troubles, but there are exceptions, according to the forums.

Going by the indirect evidence I think it's safe to say it's not a flop flop. I have no idea what the actual numbers are, nor what ZA/UM expected.

I have a hunch their expectation/hope has been that this is one of those "long tail" games, that it'll sell by word of mouth.

Whether it's enough... we can only hope.

I do think that the game has been successful enough that ZA/UM has proven their ability to make a game. That means that getting funding for another one shouldn't be impossible -- although what strings would be attached is a different matter.

Never got an answer on the other thread either, if they have something planned or not. it's safe to say sales are very bad , they are in debt up to their necks and there's nothing more possible. If it was selling enough we would already know and they would proudly communicate about it. They prove they can develop a game now next thing probably will be some shovel ware on gamepass inspired by fallout.. the fps.

Fucking cancerous buttons, seriously if you disagree, if you have some piece of evidence Prime Junta i am wrong say why . You are amongst the few codexers who can still make sentences, so write some...Game never was on top of steam sales , not in my area and that was behind absolutely awful games.

It's still in the global top 10 on Steam, and held the #1 spot for a while. Steamspy (which is always behind) estimates 50,000 to 100,000 sales. It's also #1 on GoG. Whatever that indicates and whether it's enough or not, that's not "very bad."

Jokes aside, posting our private conversations is ungentlemanly and in poor taste. You should know better.

You should've said they're off the record.

I wasn't aware there is a record. I was under impression you came to me privately to try and bury the hatched, I agreed and we shook hands on it.

I thought you're a cool guy and we just happen to disagree on some things, turns out you're a bit of a weasel.

:hmmm:
