They're at least 3 bars which can be chosen by clicking on 1 at left side of hotbar Comrade-Kun.

Yeah I almost had to replace skill and then switching bars when I had to accomodate all those special arrows.
Thank God Larian let me switch bars and made me know all the cooldown on all skills in one glance.
When you level up, put more points on perception.

Things like pyramids wouldn't get into game if game was single player.

Yeah I can't believe they never put this pyramid in their previous games, it must be due to the technological limitations amirite?

Put all the special arrows in a bag, drag the bag to the hot bar, open the bag in combat and pick your arrow, much, much better solution, same for miscellaneous scrolls, you can craft bags with a rope and leather scraps.

You can't use the arrows out of the bag (unless I am missing something obvious). You have to move them into your inventory first which makes the bag-on-hotbar trick useless IMO.

To expand further on crafting I've yet to run into a fight where I thought: boy if only I had augmented my weapons/armor I'd have been fine. So, for a first time playthrough (unless you're going for hard right away), I wouldn't bother. Whenever you go back to replay and up the challenge either via increased difficulty or 'lone wolf mode' or both then I'd say crafting/improving your gear is probably necessary; or, at least, helps a great deal.

Whats the difference between normal and hard difficulty? I switched to hard after i killed boss in black cove cavern in 1 turn (the one that supposedly killed some dragons) and i just didnt notice any difference. Kiled Loic at level 10 on first try while he and some of his friends were level 13. Hardest was enemy till now was level 15 goblin merchant at level 11.Bastard casted absorb elements spell and only noticed few turns later that im actualy healing him with elemental spells he was resisting status effects alot no stun/curse/slow/cripple/knockdown only blinded him twice for 1 turn while Loic was perma blinded (3 turns each cast) . Engaged him too close to Silverglen so some level 9-10 cultist and miners joined him but Madora 1 hit killed them all with whirlwind while missing goblin.

Cant augument my weapons yet with essences crafting too low but i used poison potions on weapons few times.

I leave an empty slot next to the bag, I prefer it to filling up a row and a half with arrows, and another row with scrolls, or worse yet try digging through the inventory. Hopefully someone mods in an option to right click an item in a bag and use it, then it would be the perfect solution.

Tried that. Arrows in the bag can't activate. SO you still have to open bag, then drag arrow to skillbar/inventory, then activate arrow. It's fiddly as fuck.

PC Gamer USED to be a great magazine. USED TO. 15 years ago that is.

PCGAMER has always been shit. Stop the lies and start the truths. In fact I would say PCGAMER for me was a harbinger of decline when Computer Gaming World was at the height of its powers.

Fuck PCGAMER.
:rpgcodex:

The US PC Gamer has always been shit. The UK PC Gamer was an entirely different magazine and stayed good until around 2000

PCGamesN review:

http://www.pcgamesn.com/divinity-original-sin/divinity-original-sin-review

When I play Divinity: Original Sin, I’m back in my parents’ study, gleefully skipping homework as I explore the vast city of Athkatla. I’m overstaying my welcome at a friend’s house, chatting to Lord British. And it’s not because the game is buying me with nostalgia, but because it’s able to evoke the same feelings: that delight from doing something crazy and watching it work, the surprise when an inanimate object starts talking to me and sends me on a portal-hopping quest across the world. There’s whimsy and excitement, and those things have become rare commodities. Yet Divinity: Original Sin is full of them.

What does
the pavillion of life in Luculla do other than kill you if you choose that answer? Both "i want to live" answers don't seem to do anything

So, huh, crafting question: where can i find knives for my Dagger receipes? I am not seeing any vendors that sell them?
butter knives are scattered around people's houses on tables and such around the world. it's a common item but it's hard to buy.
I had to hunt for branches at endgame. fucking branches are a rare item man.

And kill trees for XP

There are also 3 vendors in tavern in 2d town that sell a lot of crafting equipment. Shit is, "high tier" crafting stuff like "strong sinew" or "evil tooth" doesn't seem to work with regulars or just doesn't work at all.

For people who want to make changes to the font in the game.

How to:

Download LSTools, install and run.
I used this version: https://mega.co.nz/#!Rwd1zLaJ!29VAX82KYe4ibOIu2aRrxw_ZK4dEEh4YDgeWZCLg6Lo

dos8.png

Unpack Game.Pak found in your main D:OS folder.
(Notice I made a backup and added a .org extension)

dos14-1.png

Save it wherever you want to. (I'm using e:\temp\Game Unpack)

dos15.png

Go into the unpacked folder you created, ..\public\game\gui\fonts

dos11.png

There are the 8 fonts used in game. There is the LSX which makes the most sense to edit that in LSTools, I just haven't had immediate success going that way. So what I simply did was find a TTF Font that I liked and renamed it to match those 8 names exactly. So the game is still looking for the same font names, it's just that those fonts were changed with something else.

Then Repacked the game folder: (Made a folder called Game RePack)

dos12.png

(For Source Paths choose the Unpacked Game Folder you made, compression doesn't seem to matter)

dos13.png

Repackage...

And take the re-packed Game.Pak and copied in over the games actual Game.Pak.

dos14-1.png

Done.

So the main thing is finding a font you like.

Tip: Also be prepared to redo this after a game update. I just found that out.

It is just bolder and clearer, Combat log, Inventory/Stats.

Since the grids don't resize/scale we have to make it fit in with what they give us. So we can put slightly larger fonts by design in vs what the game ships with. The main thing we are looking for is a crisp, easy to read, bulky font, so it can be read well against a moving background.

Here is another font that works well:

dos25.png

Here are some comparisons of the smaller sections of text, with our stats:

Original:
dos23.png

Liberation, a clean bold font:

dos22.png

Poetsen One, a fat but clean font:

dos24.png

Somewhat subtle, but really still quite a bit clearer. Popup chat, much easier to read against a living background.

Sadly I can't test it, I keep getting a msvcr110.dll is missing whenever I try to open lstools. Maybe if someone tries this they can PM me the modified Game.pak with the changes made to the font.

D:OS is still the #1 top selling game on steam and has been all week. I think it's asfe to say Larian's turning a profit on this now. :incline:

Some very strong praise there

In a year that will see a big return on my kind of RPG – less Bethesda and Bioware, more Obsidian and Black Isle – I’ll be shocked if this isn’t the best of them.

It’s a sprawling game, responsible for some of the most interesting experiences I’ve had in all my years of gaming.

Original Sin is like a Lego set. I might never build the architecture or the scene shown on the box, but I’ll make a thousand other things along the way. It’s a game that encourages the player to follow or invent tangents and diversions, and that provides its inhabitants with enough simulated agency to convince that they’re willing to engage with those diversions. Perhaps Pillars Of Eternity or Wasteland 2 will have a finer end-goal for their kit – a handsome attempt at perfection – but will the pieces be as fun to muddle and confuse?

Ooh, comparisons!

Eh, from what I've played of WL2(not that much though) it doesn't really deserved to be mentioned on the same breath as D:OS

Sometime in hunter's edge decided to restart, I could feel the game 'contracting' into the endgame and I wanted to leave a bit to look forward to for the second playthrough. Trying a two-handed dedicated melee Simone de Beauvoir & earth/water mage random AI Emilie du Chatelet on Hard. Having fun with Simone pumping up Oath then ramming multiple enemies into the ground, two skills I never used last time round.

I try to migrate my save file folder from my Larian folder from one computer to another and it doesn't detect anything in the new one. That's beyond lame and frustrating. I don't want to start all over again.
Cant you use the same Steam account? It does have cloud saving.

It's the same account.
So whats the problem? It should recognize saves in the cloud. If it doesnt then make a support ticket to Gaben.

Cloud saving is actually disabled at the moment. You can see that by going to Steam->Properties->Updates and see Steam Cloud Storage usage for D:OS. It is zero.

From the notes of V1.0.47:

-Disabled saving to Steam Cloud again because its size is too small for our save games. We are going to compress the save games first and then reactivate it.

You can also add spike (nails) on your boots if your crafting is high enough.

Still the top seller in steam. Nice. And now the positive reviews start emerging. Methinks this game is selling way past expectations already. Kudos to Larian.
