So, what's the deal with the severed talking head? There's a guy under the table right? My ideas of how to expose that charlatan have run out.

Well, for the backstory of the head - keep exploring and you should eventually find out what that is about.
Of course to get access to the head, you eventually need to get rid of the entertainer, who's busy entertaining the crowd...

Can you put the head in your inventory? I did finish the quest. I can talk to the head. But I can't grab it. Is that normal or should I be able to inventory it?

i started knight+witch and got borred after two hours. melee with two handed weapons is either you miss or you get one hit in round cause you are slow as fuck. witch spells are shit, most enemies you meet are imune to bleeding, spider summon is weak as fuck and she has no AoE. also no companions with rogues skill set means you either invest in lockpick/pickpocket with your warrior/mage or you miss a lot of shit.i restarted with two mages with all four elemental spells:bounce: fucking weapons of mass destruction:salute:
Spider summon is not a witch skill tree, it's Geo, since he's immune to Poison and Geo has it as main element for damage. He is a very tough little fella who can do some nice damage and aggro monsters, so don't talk shit on my multilegged friend.
I actually find him a lot tougher than elemental summons, who like to quickly explode into bits (even if they do more damage and have ranged skill each). Plus he does physical damage. Kinda handy when you need to kill something that just heals from your best spells.
Witch has +50% damage, just raw damage, on whatever you want.

Ppl said lol lightning, no, lol Oath of Desecration > Fireball. Get loot.
She also has +50% elemental shield on any element. VERY handy later in game.
And she gets her own summon who seems like a tough warrior-like one, and undead. Meaning you could probably heal him with Poison.

Stealing from npc can get you skill books and money easily in early games, but soon you will have plenty of gold and equipment to sell.
Thing is, what you can steal you can just barter using dialogue screen. So very meh.

By the by I looked up detailed ability descriptions since I'm still waiting for my box (as well for them to patch it to a decent state since I am not downloading 1.2 gigs every other day) and, as I suspected, anything that isn't in a spell tree is junk. Nice mage-playing-game you have there, Larian.
Magic will always have more just because by it's nature it allows much imagination. Either that or you do it like in JRPGs where every attack is just like a spell but with different names.
It would require a less magical world to find the focus for interesting melee I think.

You will be able to get head later, I think you'll actually need a reason for it first.

Also, whether or not people find it "interesting", melee characters have some very powerful abilities later on, like the midgame warrior one that does QUADRUPLE your normal damage.

I love this game, but the fanbase is already starting to suck. Seems they can't praise a game without trying to put another kickstarter title down, which of course they were dumb enough to back, and haven't even played yet.
I don't care how much of Sawyer's aspergian ideas and thoughts have gone into the game if it's void of any semblance of personality or interesting art direction.
What bullshit, firstly, your value system sucks, secondly, the codex didn't like the shitty D:OS concept art when they first seen it, retarded proportions, typical, uninspired designs. This game is great because of it's fun combat, great encounters, challenge, and loads of content, not it's Fable/WoW marriage when it comes to art.(There's a reason morons automatically think Diablo when they see this game.) Environments in D:OS are beautiful, but I don't think they're better than PoE, just more saturated and with xtra bloom.

tl;dr, graphicwhoredex is fucking annoying, but this game is at the height of it's hype, I'm sure everyone will get their heads out of their asses when it dies down.
Going play the game, interacting with the fanbase of something you like always leaves bad taste.

They remind me of staff weapons from Stargate. Characters even hold them the same way.

Fan bases are like political parties. Everyone adds a little of their own crap until the collective is so weighed down with shit that nothing good comes of it.

Is this game great or what? Seriously, best damn RPG of it's kind in ages. Only complaints so far is it's fairly dialog heavy (especially in the start) and of the fact you only get to create two characters.
RPGs SHOULD be text heavy.
(even dark souls is text heavy)

I don't agree with the premises that RPG's should be text heavy (unless it's that kind of RPG), and the example you brought up I find to be pretty odd. Dark Souls has very little text/dialog compared to D:OS. NPC's more often than not say little more than a blurb, there's probably like 1/100th of dialog. Dark Souls I think uses mood and atmosphere more than explicit 'text' and personally that's what I enjoy. Both fantastic games, though, Larian hit it out of the park IMO.

Not 100% what you mean (so sorry if I am misunderstanding), but is your issue that melee characters do not have good/fun skills? If so I disagree...I'm only level 10 ATM but my melee characters already have a fairly nice variety of skills. There's charges (that can knock enemies down), whirlwind attacks, calling down a huge fist to smash into enemies from a distance, helping up downed allies, healing, inspiring allies, crippling/debuffing enemies, and inspirational skills (leadership, for instance). I actually am fairly impressed with the amount of stuff melee characters have at their disposal.

Beyond that, melee characters do have other 'tricks'...you can flank enemies, there's attacks of opportunities if you use smart positioning, and combined with your mages laying down burn/ice/electrical fields you are able to control the battlefield. It's a great system, IMO.

So is lockpicking/trap disarming useless? I've only just finished the tutorial dungeon, but it certainly seems that way, since you can just bash stuff or trigger traps from a distance.

This game has the funniest stealth ever.

The camera became very unwieldy in the dungeon. A lot of the rooms also felt very small and cramped. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come.

Combat is great, and very fluid and fast-paced thanks to the animations already starting during your turn. Slightly put off by the cooldowns, but oh well.

Goddamnit, two hours less sleep than originally planned.
I want to say though, that soundtrack is once more amazing. Love the theme that's playing at the
End of Time.

The music is great, but it feels out of place. Nothing 'fits' the area it plays in. Or maybe that's just me.

Blargh, early part of the game was stupid easy and all of a sudden I'm getting fucking destroyed by every encounter outside of Cyseal.

Lowering difficulty to Easy. :negative:

You must have a severely gimped party, then. I was steamrolling all enemies outside Cyseal on Normal with my Cleric (Men-at-Arms + Hydro), Wizard (Geo + Pyro + Aero), Witch (Witchcraft + Aero) and Rogue (Marksman), so I actually had to switch to Hard to maintain some challenge.

Edit: I was level 3 when I went outside, now I'm level 5.

How do you have 4 characters with these specs in Cyreal? I thought only Jahan and Madira were available at the beginning.

Yeah it has some weird changes and it changes a bit too fast, but sometimes it fits the situation just right, especially the track I mentioned above. That was some goosebump-material.

You can unlock henchmen quite early in the game. They're as Diablo 2 "kleenex" mercenaries.

So guys, if Larian would make Original Sin 2, would you want the title to be:

1) Unoriginal Sin
2) Original Tan
3) Original Cos?

Because as we know, trigonometry jokes are hilarious

Divinity: Roguey Wept

Some locked doors and chests have massive amounts of health so it's pretty much a time saver.
