Check out an all time best selling games in Japan chart and its almost all portable games, with a few exceptions like new super Mario brothers, even then the numbers are very far from western sales numbers.

Not even final fantasy xiv which is a hugely successful mmorpg, managed to move any significant PC units in Japan, most people there play it on ps4 or ps3.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with a GTX 680.

The engine is notoriously terrible on 32 bit systems, but since you are on a 64 bit OS things should be fine. And I'll just ask, have all the latest drivers for your video card, and maybe even check your motherboard drivers and BIOS?

Though you might want to browse the Larian technical forums. There is a ton of useful info there of common problems, or if not your issue, perhaps making a thread there. You should get some help fairly quickly.

A hard lockup like that sounds like a hardware problem/failure. I'd look at your thermals, and rum memtest86.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
About to try this out again with the four PCs mod. Is there any use in a sword and board tank?

I never bothered with sword and board, felt it was just easier to give fighters 2h weapons for damage.

I think they did some rebalancing in the enhanced edition though, so they may have buffed shields.

Pathfinder: Wrath
When I played with a Sword and Board character last (i.e. when it came out) it was reaaaaaaally bad, I haven't tried it with the EE but I doubt the skills they added outvalue pure damage. There is also the aspect that you can't really "tank" in this game, I don't think there's a taunt mechanic or aggro mechanic. Still, someone with more experience with the EE can chip in, maybe they've added taunts or a different mechanic that makes S&B characters viable (compared to other choices).

Playing on the harder mode ofc.
When I beat the game, I had a sword and board fighter that was immune to almost every element and could block almost everything enemies threw at him.

So I started to play the EE and found out what they did to stealth. Points invested no long reduce the AP cost in combat. Making stealth completely useless in combat. Why would they do this? This was my favorite game mechanic.

It was OP as hell, letting you do multiple big damage attacks in one turn then ending it as invisible so they couldn't retaliate.

Nope it wasn't.

Monsters on the battlefield could always move or look around and reveal you. Also a lot of AoE was going on most of the time, so manouvering the battlefield without shields as a squishy rogue was dangerous as hell. Even attacking enemies from behind will spill stuff that will hurt your rogue. Often you had to buff your rogue with your mage to pull it off. Landing backstabs in hard boss fights was something well earned.

Guess what, 2H guys can do the same damage, without all the preparation.

You often had to rely on casting from scrolls, or some tactical elemental arrows when the situation was to dangerous to go in for backstabs. Or use your charms.

Mages, Warriors and Rogues all had their tricks and Rogues where high risk situational single target DPS with some utility. Now there is nothing rogues can do better than Mages or a 2H Tank. Everything is OP in Divinity when you use it right. Warriors can still hack shit and tank shit. Mages can still CC everything. While it's true that rogues got some new Skills in compensation, I just found the stealth mechanic fun and something unique. They should have just designed content against stealthy rogues and better AI instead of destroying the class totally or turning it around.

There is a talent called guerilla which has basically no use anymore. It is a placeholder. In their enhance edition. If you do things half-assed why do you do them at all?

Guerilla still works as an alpha strike ability, much like D&D backstabs (in addition to D:OS's backstabs). :M

If I were in charge of ~balancing~ I'd change it so that ranks 2 and 4 are dead zones and at rank 5 you can sneak for 3 AP. That's half the AP you can sneak at rank 0, but not absurdly spammable.

For me they totally hit a sweet spot with the balancing in the original release. Even if you read threads from back then, it says stealth rogue is on par with damage of 2H knights, which it should be considerating a knight can also tank. A rogue always needs lots of micro management and risk involvement to shine.

To get in the position to hit something without any of the other targets having the chance of seeing you next turn, you need to get around the whole battlefield. Again, a 2H Warrior might have killed his first target before you even started attacking. Sure it was powerful if used right. But that is the point, isn't it?

Everything broke the difficulty past Luculla. That was one of the major criticisms of the game. If I had done it then maybe I would've included a "Vanish" type of ability which would have charges and reduced its AP cost with every stealth point. Maybe 2 charges with 2-3 turn CD each. You still get your stealth in combat and reduced AP with stealth points, but only spammable when you really need it.

Hide in Plain Sight in NWN1 was like this, you could literally spam stealth with no CD.

Rogues are now CC machines, and survivability is shit. I mean you have winged feet but currently my warrior has one point in scoundrel for this fast track and trip(additional knockdown is never bad). Then you have become air and cloak and dagger that actually give some survivability you can't get without getting ~10 agility :prosper: but that's not really much.

I dont remember and cant look but can you change the difficulty midgame? I might breeze through to where I was on easy and then up it to hard agian.

edit

Googled it, it wont go to Tactician from Explorer... Fuck this.

edit

Hm, I might just cheat and stomp through the encounters. But the gear is gonna be crappier compared to what I had...

Is there any way to use
Black Cove bloodstone
as
second healing stone in the quest where you have to decide which of the patients lives or dies 'cause Evelyn only has one
?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the quest might resolve itself before that, i.e. the two guys are gone.
