Well any update would help at this point. Pictures are fine, but some people like numbers - I watched several videos and still don't know what are the stat based interaction possibilites in the game world (other then freezing water and set shit on fire).

Lockpick? Sneak? Toaster repair?

Whenever I click on this thread I expect something about Divinity, but instead I read another post about how the Torment and PE kickstarters used their stretch goals.

EDIT:
Oh wait, now it's actually about Divinity KS updates, my bad. :P

Nobody would pay 60 bucks for these games.

I'm a sucker for the physical tiers (much to my wife's chagrin -- my library is stuffed with Ultima, SSI, Infocom, etc. boxes) -- I've bought into each one of the major RPGs at those levels, so $100 for Wasteland 2, $250 for Project Eternity, $95 for Torment, $95 for Divinity. =/ I know, I know, a fool and his money... But I loves me some cloth maps!

Oh, crap. Speaking of boxes... I just found out that there were Pony Canyon versions of Ultima II and VI that look just like Ultima I (remake), III, IV, and V on the cover, and *may* be the same size too. Must. Have. Always hated how Ultima VI changed the box style, and never did get a Ultima II. Ooooh, and Ultima III has the Ultima III prominent and the Exodus label below, like the other Ultima games. Looks like it isn't in the same box, though, more of a plastic thing.

Back to Divinity -- what is the world simulation like? I asked earlier about night/day cycles, NPC schedules, etc. Does it have those? I'm impressed by all of the object interaction so far in that video.

Pretty sure it's all about being willing to play the game. They're a reliable hype-machine in the vein of a lot of the bigger sites, that + any "prestigious credentials" aura they may or may not have make them better than a much more popular website that will bag on your shit 24/7 (i.e us). In other words, it doesn't matter how hot you are if you don't put out. Yes, RPGWatch is the ugly but eager ladyboy in this scenario.

Fun analogy. Although I think The Codex is only semi-attractive, but is known for it's dark practices in bed if you catch it's eye, however fickle. A risky endeavor in any case.

The Codex is a domina who lashes you with a whip, beats you with a cane, pulls you by the hair and forces you to worship her feet. But damn, she can give some really good whiplashes and after a while you really learn to love the taste of her toes. Her lashes are hard, though, and even those with the thickest skin will be left with bleeding cuts on their backs after several sessions. But if you actually deliver a good RPG to her, she will reward you with one of the best blowjobs you ever recieved.

And then she'll go back to viciously lashing that whip over your back.

the goals are bad and very uninspiring. Deeper story and reactivity. What the fuck does it mean? How deep did we get now that we tripped the goal?

You have to offer potential customers tangible shit.

Spot on.

@Larian
You answered the question "why will our game be good at release? " which is counter-productive for your kickstarter, the right question is : "why should you back us now?" You're showing people you don't need their help (because let's be honest your game looks extremely good as is) and then only spend a small paragraph to tell what might be ways of improving the game.

I think a good part of KS backers are doing that out of selfishness. They have the feeling they will have a better product and more loot if they get in early. You need to convince them it's in THEIR best interest to back your project. So use all the pre-order tricks right now, make this KS look like a giant stretch-goal full of "awesome" because at the end of the day, backers are but consumers.

Of course, where do you think she got all that practice to make her blowjobs so awesome?

And get total biscshit to play with you. Will get a lot of exposure.

Get wallpapers and concept art out there too, like hiver says - pretty pictures sell. It doesn't matter you've already got the graphics and designstyle set. People love the artwork.

This is a very good idea. Big YouTube channels now generate way more traffic and have way more influance than gaming-press.

Livestreaming a coop session of the demo with a guy like totalbiscuit through Twitch or YouTube and then upload the video would generate huge exposure, or just record a session if the game is not stable enough yet.

If it doesn't, why seek funding? It's very black-n-white.

Why? If you fail to sell one game it doesn't mean you'll fail to sell another unless you make them identical?

How do you know this isn't all Iron Tower has? The way they have been struggling with this for aeons should tell you that it's pushing them to the limit just making this. If they tried to make something different it would either be beyond them or take such a long time that the sun will swallow up the Earth before then.

Does this game have an ironman mode? One of the kickstarter comments Larian made was in reference to "David's ironman mode" so that would be pretty cool.

Next RPG in the Divinity series featuring classic turn-based combat, non-linear SP campaign with optional coop and a unique RPG editor.

All the right words are right there in the header.

Let's face it we all know they game will be released anyway so why should I give them more than honest price for preordered game (25 potato)? And add some in game goals like Paladin class, Witch burning Inquisition, Alcohol that can cause Witcher like trouble/effects or Brothel. You know cool stuff other devs won't put into their game cause they're all PC faggots and try to hit magic PG 12 tag.

They need to make a mobile bed as a stretch goal. I liked being the mattress man in DD, always prepared for a nap with a trusty bed just sitting comfortably in my inventory.

You colud carry some haystacks in your inventory in first game and make bed anywhere you want back then! But not very comfortable and covers large space in invetory though.

If you think Larian is PC, wait until you read my article, especially the part about Dragon Commander.
Yeah. We're waiting. Like, still.

The one thing I really like about Codex Content is that quality comes before speed. Larian themselves are at fault for shooting their load too quickly (Gragt just visited them). Of course there's some amount of pressure for getting the piece out, but we don't do rushed content.

Yeah, from all these faraway KS projects this one is the closest to realization AND so far looks the most promising. I'm really excited for this game, can't wait to play it. I find some great ideas here, like TB combat with all those elemental effect "stacking" to make it more interesting. Just hope their KS will be a big success, so they can make it the best it can be. Really, when a lot of crap projects and a lot of projects with nothing to show gain millions, can't this at least reach 1 million? If this fails, really there is no justice in the world. I'm aware that the game is almost finished, and that they will spend this money to add and improve, but still, how can a person that backed all the other old school projects based on purely promise, not back this? They need at least 50K backers. :D
