Even though keys are sort-of in-game currency, you could buy keys without having the game itself by just using money in your "steam wallet" and finding a trader, or buy an invite directly with the money.

Then there's the "standard route" of buying an invite pack directly through Valve, but that's $25 minimum - including some fancy fluff but IMO it's not worth it.

Added Swap Hero. This cannot be used after creeps spawn or in SD. Accessible via right click on heroes in the scoreboard.

Disclaimer: I may really suck at dota 2. And i have a great big problem with it. Graphics represent way too small an ingame space. I get killed by champs offscreen. Its the opposite of the demigod/lol state where the models are huge; I zoom out really far and the model size stays the same. This is a serious enough problem to, by itself, stop me from playing dota 2.

you gotta be active with the camera. scan suspicious stuff on the minimap with your camera and always have it a little off toward the area where enemies are most likely to come from (further down/up a lane, woods, etc).
