And Felipepe made an ass of himself. Started out strong but as soon as you start shrilly announcing how tired you are of pc correct bullshit in your games you're no longer having a discussion on game mechanics but turn it into ideological driven bull. And that you then went on with personal attacks on people and whining about the evil gay agenda only sunk that ship a lot faster. Fucking BR's going HUEHUEHUE and all that. Le sigh.
True, I didn't handle it well, I'm not used to arguing with people like that... There was a point where I even made the OP doubt himself, but then others came to just call me a troll/homophobic and I made the mistake of scaling to their level... meh, at least I managed to make it clear that is not something wonderful that everyone wants in the game.

Personally I don't give a fuck if Frank puts his wang into Emily's vagina or Walther's anus. What I do care about is them actually giving any information on direction, notions and ideas they have regarding this game. Untill then you simply get these kind of discussions because people got nothing else to talk about.

Summary: Tim Schafer worked on some cool games decades ago and six years ago made a neat game in Psychonauts. Tasha Harris was essentially the sole developer, artist, designer, etc. of Costume Quest -- she since left Derple Fine and now works at Pixar. The rest of Derple Fine games are XBLA download titles and pedestrian at best. The only thing the company really excels at is marketing and appealing to hipsters.

Development of their relatively simple adventure game is taking forever never mind the fact they somehow ran out of money when they got nearly triple (quadruple? More?) what they asked for and now they want to make a strategy game helmed by some nobody who finds it necessary to pander to the gay Biowarian crowd. Does anything else need to be said? Wake me when it's available for $1 in Humble Bundle 15.

Hehe I'll just be sure to leech it and then make sure to spread it over FTP to all my friends.

You know what? Fuck you, you retarded piece of shit. As evdk said, it is OK to being negative, but you come off as a "I want to look hardcore, edgy and super critical, because I'm a true Codexain" type of somebody. Yeah, you hate the game already, you think it will be a piece of shit, but you will pirate it, probably play it. And you will spread it on FTP? May I ask why? What is the reason? Do you want to hurt Double Fine financially? Ok, they are not making a game to your liking. There are games that I think are bad, but do you know what would I look like, if I'd send these games to my friends? Like an idiot. And guess who wants to do the same thing? God, you are a newfag, but you are pissing me off more than Skyway and Volourn combined. At least they don't want to look edgy, and have meaningful things to say (once in a while). Fuck, now I'm butthurt because of this faggot.

Rofl, you mad bro? Looks like I stepped on some toes.

And will I actually spread it over FTP???... ehh very unlikely, way too much effort. I'm just mad these leeches are getting so much money with nothing at all to show. I guess I should actually be mad at all the dummies that are actually pledging.

That would be several orders of magnitude saner, yes. Not that you are giving off any particularly sane vibes, so rage away :salute:

Not that I mind your swashbuckling attitude, especially when it comes to a Double Fine strategy game (lol), but piracy talk is one of the very few things that can instantly get yourself banned on the Codex.

Just a warning. A friendly one at that.

What they did until now:
Hello, I'm Brad Muir, a nobody that never made a relevant game in my life, don't have experience at all making RPGs and is riding in the fame of a game designer responsible for great adventure/platform games, I'm talking to you as if you are retarded children explaining this very vague concept while maintaining this smile that inspire confidence as the smile of a used car salesman. I decided to ignore adressing the problems of my lack of credentials and vague concept of the game that appears to be another indie title with flash but no substance because Tim Schaefer is charismatic and have an awesome track record and his appearence is enough to bring pledges. I won't make stretch goal because I'm going to hear what are the ideas of the retarded community (I guess he don't mean Double Fine forums , Dear God) and give the impression that I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

What they should had done:
Hey guys, after the funny part of the video is time to talk seriously, I know that most of you don't have any idea who the hell I am but I'm going to try to convince you to pledge for this game, pledge if you like the idea . Massive Chalice is going to have a bigger scope than traditional indie Double Fine titles, it will be a full fledge title, it will use an art style similar to the traditional Double Fine games and will have a strong comic theme in it, the game is going to, similar to X-COM and other games with strategic and tactical layers, have a strategic realm administration part where you will be able to create cities, create armies, explore resources and will have an important economic layer to it where budget will be an important thing, like all civilization type games but instead of fighting other civilizations, you are going to fight demons that invade your realm in sucessive waves becoming more and more strong and you will have to forge the massive chalice that is the only thing that can defeat the Big bad before he show up but it won't be an easy task, because to forge it you will require alot of resources that aren't going to be used in armies, your armies are going to be contolled by mortal heroes that age and die and left relics to the next generation but you will have to chose between fight the actual wave with your heroes or retire them to secure a next generation of heroes, when the fight start it will change to a tactical view where you control your heroes, that will have special abilities, and units in turn based combat . We aren't going to make stretch goals because the game is going to have a modest budget and we don't want to promise things that we can't deliver or change later, but we are going to hear the community for feedback but don't worry because we have a clear vision for the game.

I'm still having a hard time believing this isn't a big troll with all the homosexual equality talk and a name like MASSIVE CHALICE -- they'll probably cancel it on day 29 with a hearty 'lulz.'

Equality talk is just one forum thread on their website. Made by someone on their forum to which they replied that they'll think about it. That's all.

Thing is with this kickstarter that there has been so very little information. I take it that they don't know specific game mechanics yet but come on, some ideas about directions would be nice. So far their lack of updating and general info is what's pissing me off. Don't start a fucking ks based on an idea alone. Have something to show. To talk about.

This is Derple Fine's M.O. -- it's all marketing and no substance.

You know what? Fuck you, you retarded piece of shit. Nah, I only pay attention to the posts that get reported, sorry.
So what you're saying is that if I want to be a good, law abiding citizen of the kodex, I should go through every post and report anything that mentions piracy?

Well, given that all reports go to DU... Sure, if you want DU to turn his benevolent gaze upon you, go ahead.

So DU delegated this specific case for you to investigate and handle, I take it?

You can talk whatever you want about me, but if you don't see that this guy is an edgy, hardcore wannabe faggot, then you are blind. This "i hate the game but I will pirate it and put it on FTP for all my friends" just made my piss boil. Especially after admitting that he talked out of his ass (and thus basicly admitting that he just tries to be edgy).
