I didn't even know Cassandra was written by Hepler and Gaider. This just keeps getting worse/better.

Note to self: if I ever make games with romances in them, hire hot chicks to take credit for writing the female characters.

Hey guys, I have a strange request. Somewhere in this thread, somebody posted a photoshopped image of a masturbating midget with the addition of signs like bioware heroes, david gaider.

I really need that image. I looked through the thread, but can't really find it. Does anyone still have it?

A girl I know is trying to convince me to purchase the game so we can play multiplayer together. And if I'm gonna buy it I could make a LP out of it. So I'm planning on making a masturbating dwarf david gaider LP and I kinda need that image.

I have only one true thing i don't like about DA:I and maybe one of the aspects of the Bioware policy. It's is too agressive LGBT propaganda in DA:I, i have nothing against gays or lesbians , they are people like us, should have same rights and dignity.
But as heterosexual i don't speak about my preferences non stop in public nor try to convince others it's such a fun. That's said, i simply don't like how some people overdo with their philosphies etc.
If they want let them include homosexual or bisexual characters into the game, but include for example: fat ones too[ i bet you can't create fat and ugly character in 90% crpgs- why? ;) ] , sick ones too, mentally unstable, etc.
What i don't like is making main feauture of the game from that. And it is such clear in DA:I we will get good crpg game, vast and with nice lore but many crpg gamers will call it crap becouse of slightly wrong marketing.
I still think this game will be much better in terms of crpg than for example Witcher 3 [ it will be awesome too but it s more hn's ].
First i must say im little rpg nerd and someone who you can call "hardcore" rpg player , and spend some years with rpg gaming too since early 90's. Nevermind, you can call me retarded but i really liked whole Mass Effect series
and first Dragon Age. Sure they had their flaws but especially in Mass Effect i remember to this day many characters, like Wrex, Liara, Tali, Anderson, Udina, Thane, Garrus,Illusive Man,Joker etc., sure maybe that game was in 70% "corridor shooter crpg" but it was still crpg.
You can feel the world, feel the story, and so on [even if they are so naive]. There are very low number of crpgs [old or new] where you can remember such large number of NPC after few years. To be honest i can recall in one moment, right now, only characters from:
Baldur's Gate I&II, Fallouts,VtM:Bloodlines, Ultima, Elder Scrolls and... well without reading some wikis, notes, or playing again i can't say i remember more npc's names form other games at call.
Despites all well deserved crap that Bioware gets after releasing Dragon Age II i think they are back on the track again. They done good games before in their "modern" era : NWNs 1& 2, Mass Effects, Dragon Age I .
I hope they will continue to be one of the important developers for the crpgs, even with let downs as DAII or Gaider's policy they deserve to stay in "mainstream" .
Crpgs often goes into dead end corridor, and focus on mechanics as main feauture. How is that happens if at the base of every paper rpg , lies the story and characters? How many players focus only on ways of developing character, create powerfull one, "winning", "completing". In role playing other things matters, they were just stories long time ago. Mechanics are just addon. It can be compared for example to many rpg sessions or tabletop Warhammer games. In WFB many players focus on stats, mechanics and "builds" , same with paper rpgs or crpgs. While mechanics are important they are just for making story more fun and enjoyable. True power of rpgs lies in creating almost "real" world where you can "teleport" from our real life for some time and have fun. Games and playing focused on the "right" mechanics only and "winning" becomes boring fast and be it tabletop games, pen&paper ones or computer role play it will be fast forgotten. Main problem of today's crpgs are gamers themselves, most of them just want something they don't really have time for. How many of you really read about lore, try to "learn" about given game background etc.?
Over 80% today crpg gamers want to sit, complete and forget. So developers give them what they want and buy.
There's no propaganda from their side you silly. Their fans and all the butthurts over the wolrd are the one who are obsessed with this shit. You want to know the truth? In cca 100h of gameplay, I'm gonna spend maybe 30 minutes romancing white straight female (as a white straight male). And that's about it. The rest is your classic fantasy ARPG/RPG. And the fact there's an option for faggots to fuck gay characters or option for creeps to fuck a guy who looks like a tougher brother of Ronnie Coleman? I don't give a fuck, let them have it... As long as I can play as a macho white dudebro, the game is fine. It's customizable, so it's fine. Majority of people here bitching about it are wannabe tough newfags who are desperately trying to fit in. Pathetic.

The quality of the content is different matter indeed, but the intentions are ok.

I just skimmed over the Gaymestar review and... oh dear.

- bland and boring companions
- "it's no real Dragon Age"
-
main quest takes 30-35 hours to complete instead of the 50 promised hours.
- trying hard to be like Skyrim to get those 16 million customers
- a video comparing the graphical detail settings show only minor differences between low and ultra (why does the player's hair become a plasic wig in low anyway?)
- gets a lower score than Dragon Turd 2 even though it's "better than DA2"

Followed by an apologizing speech how they are lowering DA2's score now to reflect DA3 being better, because DA2 didn't deserve such a high score back then. How could they have known? Yeah...

Read between the lines: "When we gave The Sims 4 a low rating it hurt us financially, so we have to try being nice to AAA games again!"

I think it still qualifies as "good for what it is", but it's time to forget Dragon Age: Origins was the series... origin. Instead we should treat it as a successor to Dragon Turd 2.

If it runs on my old rig I will give it a chance once it drops to 5 Shekelz.

To be fair, I think it's awesome that some game journalists accept that they made mistakes. There's a lot of gaming outlets that would never admit that.

Admitting mistakes is a time-honored tradition.

- OMG! Did you guys play Oblivion? It's AWESOME!!! 12/10! Buy it now! Get two copies - it's so good you gonna need a backup!
... years later...
- Fallout 3? One word - WOW! It's AWESOME! We all know that Oblivion was kinda shitty and bland, but Fallout 3 is da bomb!
... years later...
- SKYREEEEIM!!!! You'll be playing it forever and then pass the cum-stained disk to your children asking them to continue your adventures! That's how fucking good it is. Unlike Fallout 3 which clearly was shite. Sure, we gave it 15/10 but we are men enough to admit our mistakes (since nobody cares about these games now).

Maybe 3,500 years from now someone will find Oblivion discs and will conclude it's the best game ever made and the entire world will become influenced by Oblivion and parents will name their children Todd, Tod, To'd and Todeesha.

Art thou serious? They aren't admitting a mistake, they're selling the new product as the new Best Thing Ever™. It's a tradition of Professional Gaming Journalism shitting on previous franchise titles to appease the were-disapponted and promise that the new shit "is better, I swear on me mum!"

Anyone got footage of this being played on a higher difficulty setting? All I've seen are full close-camera-no-pause encounters where the players are pretty much letting auto-attack go, trying to use abilities when they are off CD (and I do mean trying, so they could do even more damage and crush it quicker) on one character and letting AI handle the rest. Main 'player actually doing something' moment appears to be moving behind the big shield guys for extra damage. Seems it would be absolutely destroyed if they were doing something as basic as focus firing.

Typical footage I've seen:
Trigger warning: He says story is the most important part of an RPG
