The Tomb Raider board "RPG" was marketed with a fat, black lesbian with two prosthetic legs.
One of the playable characters in Dead Island 2 has a prosthetic leg.

At least she's kind of cute.

It took Gaider the Racist leaving for Bio to do a dwarven romance."

Too bad they'll fuck it up because it's tainted by 2024 bullshitz.

One day the Codex will be prepared to accept that Bioware has been decline since Baldur's Gate. :M
Back in a day it was a codexer's common opinion that BG1&2 were bad rpgs and bad games. Even not rpgs, but fancy d&d-based adventures.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the Codex had declined by 2015 into a place where the pro-Bioware position was prevalent, but I think it's experienced incline since then. :M

Kotaku never disappoints:

Veilguard may not be the game Bioware fans were hoping for, but it is indisputably the game that Bioware fans deserve. :smug:

Bioware fans want nothing but degenerate pornography with stats. It seems that Bioware is steadily approaching that though they still have to catch up with Larian.

There're few things more vomit inducing and mind numbing than modern media quirky and snarky writing. Is like a nuke throwed at your neurons every time a character speaks.

Do you think Bioware's decline is stable or cyclical?

I think DA2 score is misleading. Because it is still a good Bioware rpg with interesting story. They made combat more action oriented, but it feels tactical on Nightmare. You need to plan builds, combos to survive.

I believe that ME3 was the real start of the decline.

You can argue that DA2 still had some good aspects but at the end of the day that game was when Bioware truly started aggressively targeting the non-hardcore RPG market, i.e. COD players, female gamers, pushing LGBTQ agendas, etc. Whatever was left in the game that was halfway decent, wasn't enough to make it a good game.

Both Mass Effect 1 and 2, and DA:O, were basically decent games with some flaws, while DA2 is at best mediocre and is starting to abandon completely the CRPG roots of the developer, it's just taking another year or two (ME3, DA:I) for the rot to completely overtake everything the studio was doing well.

Also the idea that DA:I and ME3 are better than DA2 is fucking hilarious

Much of the low score for DA2 was because the game felt anticlimactic after DAO. People expected bigger and better in sequels while DA2 felt more a side quest and DLC to DAO. It was kind of like that Booster Gold episode in Justice League Unlimited when he was doing a side quest while the other heroes were fighting the real threat.

Of course DA2 was a cheap cash grab from EA and it HAD to be small scale based on the limitations placed on it, but fans were justified in feeling cheated by it.

What the fuck is a shadow dragon?

Check out some of these faction names. I lol'd irl at "Shadow Dragons". Sounds like an evil organization name a 14 year old would make up for his d&d campaign. How they managed to fuck up in every possible way is beyond me at this point, I don't think incompetence is even the right word.

So they fixed it with DA:I by filling the game with pointless MMO quests (the game's other flaws aside) lol

Great job bioware

Also I'm not convinced that, if the game was smaller in the scope as it turned out, but had just been a good game, that the reception would have been so bad

I don't think it was the smaller adventure thing that caused the issues, it was the fact that it was a shit game that reused assets over and over for its side content

A smaller game that was well-written and had solid CRPG gameplay would have done fine IMO

But at that point BW was no longer capable of doing that

All matter of perspective. At that point Bioware writing was still very competent. The main plot point of DA2 - whether it's justified to pre-emptively muzzle potentially dangerous individuals even tho they didn't do nuffin yet - is one of the best I've seen in any game. It's tied to the pre-crime/preemptive war questions people have been grappling with since forever.

It's completely inconceivable the currentday nuWriters could come up with anything half this deep. Just compare Bioware 2011 writing (or even part of the 2014 DAI writing) with their Andromeda or Anthem writing. It's an insane rate of decline.

Inter-sex traffickers

You make a great point. If only Bioware weren't so ideologically inflexible. With a name like "Veilguard," you could have an epic story about a protagonist who's gonna build a big, beautiful wall, and the Pride Demons are going to pay for it. Instead we'll probably get a sob story about how the Darkspawn need to move into your neighborhood because they're fleeing climate change. I wonder what the two discarded factions were--actually I don't, but I'm looking forward to the day that EA cuts its "Bioware" faction. :smug:

The series still hasn't got an established art direction or lore. It's actually kinda amazing. Remember that Origins was supposed to be the ORIGIN STORY of the Grey Warden you'd play in all the sequels.
