If the game features Denuvo, EA will lose themselves a customer player. I'm only torrenting this if it doesn't require months of waiting and talmudic CPU hacking to run.

This is probably the only game I will say this about while on the Codex: Whoever plays this needs mercy killing with two shots in the back of their head.
Pretty sure that won't put it down for the count. Here, use this:

If people were consistent, they would treat Dragon Age like Concord BUT...

nuBioware has a herd of mindless lgbtqia+ retards instabuying every slope.
Concord is part of a trendy genre, full of competors. Dragon Age is part of a desperation genre, where every entry sees some play.
Concord is a character/story based marketing push, for a new game where nobody knows the character/story. People know Dragon Age characters and setting.
Concord is a debut title from a new studio. Dragon Age is from Bioware, whos name and corporate culture is known and has fans.
Concord looked to take fans from Overwatch, a living and developing game. Velguard looks to take fans from God of War, a finished singleplayer game with fans who want the new thing.
Concord pre-release reviews from journos were meh, mid, etc. Veilguard pre-release reviews from journos are pleasant surprise, better than the marketing suggests, better than its trailer, etc.

Overall, I think this will outperform Concord by much. I think it will also outperform Star Wars Outlaws, for example, a similar game releasing not long ago.
Probably mostly a console release, though. I can't see this hitting hard on PC. As I wrote elsewhere, Baldur's Gate 3 changed expectations for RPGs, and Veilguard is already outdated even before it releases.

So what, is Monkey Island bad too now that Ron Gilbert turned out a giant faggot?
Not at all. Monkey Island is bad now and always was bad. But not because of what you think. First of all, it had beautiful graphics, sublime music, they nailed the look and feel, the interface and gameplay. That's the part Ron Gilbert had no control over. But the rest sadly sinks the game for me now, as much as I loved it as a kid.

When I was a kid and played it for the first time, I didn't see the meanness and cynicism of the game and the meta narrative. Not because it wasn't there, but because kids aren't good at picking stupid shit like that up.

It was a third wave feminist deconstruction of the adventure game genre and Ron Gilbert was always a giant faggot. What we thought was a joke, was completely serious despite its light-hearted tone. Like a death-threat with a wink.

It's really about stronk independent whamen who don't need no rescuing, who are being pestered by retarded/cowardly/perverted/beta men. That applies just as much to the governor as the Swordmaster who is also a stronk independent whamen of color who don't need no men.

Every single man in the game is either a cuck, cowards, retard, criminal, evil, stupid and/or selfish. The good characters are all whamen and whamen of color. The indigenous people and niggers are all able, smart and kind.

The game ends as the thick male protagonist thinks he saved the day and the woman, but it turns out the stronk independant whamen needed no rescuing or no man.

The latest version of Monkey Island, the one with the dick-nosed protagonist, is simply Ron Gilbert pure and unfiltered by people with more talent and better tastes who actually want to ship a product people like. Ron don't give a single fuck. Never has. He's always been the woke degenerate fuck we now know him as.

Didn't that game peak at like 500 players or something? Porn VNs on Steam probably outperform Concord.
"Well, at least it did better than Concord!" will be the next meme.

My post is right there, guys.

I'm not saying it will break 500 players. I'm saying I expect it to peak at 30000 players online on Steam, and settle into 5000 players online. More on consoles. Outperform Concord by much.

Thanks for destroying my childhood memories. No, really, thanks a lot.

If we are being frank, the idea of decisions carrying over between games originated with the Baldur's Gate saga (correct me if I'm wrong), or at least got popular with it. At this time it was a lot cheaper to implement than in the 3d age. But is there really any benefit to the difficulty of having, or as it's usual - shoehorning, C&C between games? I'd rather have games not connected in that way and have all the C&C just within the game, but have it more meaningful.
I agree with you. The idea of decisions carrying over between games, wherever it originated from, isn't really worth pursuing. I can see how it sounds good and is appealing, but in practice it really isn't impactful. Every single instance of this being implemented seems to be an exercise by the writers to include some trivial comment about this decision and then never mentioning it again for the rest of the game.

The gimmick might as well not have been there, and has no benefit. I have never seen this implemented in a worthwhile manner. That's for sure.

One moment for a contrarian opinion, I guess.

That's my opinion in the general case. In the DA:V case, I'm sure they could have had more C&C, but some "producer" likely decided that it's a low priority feature for a game to carry over choices which a small proportion of players will have made 10 years ago, and an even smaller proportion will care about. But as far as topics for ranting go, it's good enough.
Bioware was never able to fully commit and deliver in this promise, i don't get why they still try to promote this feature. It didn't worked before and now they're barely adding to their new game.

At this point just drop this and put more effort into Veilguard C&C.

I've never liked LucasArts adventure games. They were beautiful, but there was something about them that turned me off, so I haven't played them in years. Now I know why.

It's like your Ex who was pretty but you had to break up and now you see a picture of her on Facebook with green hair and a few "cat babies". She hasn't changed, she always was like that. You're the one who dodged the bullet.

Edit:

From Monkey Island wiki on Gilbert:

Ron Gilbert was not involved in the creation of The Curse of Monkey Island, but he has said that he did have a plan for the third game. He also stated that he would never have had Elaine Marley marry Guybrush Threepwood.

Even his self-insert must be miserable :D

The main theme of the game by Hans Zimmer

Spoilers: It's mediocre af.

Sounds like generic action movie slop with no soul. Compare that to this

I still remember when I first played DAO and the start of the Battle of Ostegar cutscene version of the song played... It was captivating. And then Cailan did the stupidest thing possible: "CHARGE!!!!!"
