From https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Taash about Taash:

  • Taash was written by Trick Weekes.[7]
  • Taash is the youngest of the companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, being in her early twenties, close to Sera's age.[8]
  • She is described as a gym bro[9] and a jock.[4]
  • She has an interest in sparkling treasures and hitting things with an axe.[2]
  • According to Corinne Busche, Taash has the "steamiest" romance of Veilguard.[10]
  • BioWare polled the Dragon Age game developers with the question "If our companions worked at the studio what would their jobs be?", Taash's top vote was testing with runner-up votes being in IT and audio. The included commentary stated:[11]
    • “Testing, and Taash would send all the bugs right back at us with a grin.”
    • “If Taash worked in IT, you’d try to get your things working before asking for help.”
    • “Taash could appreciate the bombastic yet subtle nature of Audio.”

Witcher 1 only had full female nudifty, and so did Witcher 2 and 3. Male nudity is a greater taboo and always results in a greater backlash if implemented, so it took until Cyberpunk for them to add it. That still couldn't have been the first AAA game to have done it, surely.

Americans rule every entertainment market. Whether we like it or not, their tastes are the most important.

I mention this because Americans generally have a problem with nudity, which they classify as acceptable, but everything is outweighed by the fear of showing one's penis, especially an erect one.

In generally, I don’t think Americans have a problem with nudity. Who did have a problem with nudity in the past were Christian and parent groups (and to a degree feminist groups) that would make a bunch of noise about this or that. Although there is this weird contingent of young people that are oddly prudish about nudity and sex being in things now.

But the general population I don’t think really care. Like Titanic has nudity, is a PG-13 movie, and for the longest time was one of the biggest movies ever. Game of Thrones was a huge hit HBO show (and premium cable shows didn’t generally get the kinds of ratings GoT got) and was full of sex and nudity in a way that hadn’t been seen in a mainstream American production in a long time.

The groups that making the noise may have changed, but what hasn’t changed is that these groups are fairly small and don’t matter. If anything the modern left wing bitching matters even less than the past right wing bitching, because some church groups may end up getting huge swath of multiple congregations to not watch something...although that didn’t stop stuff like The Simpsons, South Park, Pokémon, and Harry Potter from getting big. In fact church groups going after stuff like Pokémon and Harry Potter kind of had the same effect gaming sites seem to be finding themselves in today with the stuff they target: They go after something, the majority of their audience thinks it’s dumb they’re going after said thing, their audience just learners to tune them out on that aspect.

It's going to be main story related. Can't advance to act 3 before getting pegged by at least 3 companions at 70% approval rate.

The Codex was 100% on point when we predicted that the party members/romances would be the only thing that Bioware would take away from BG3.

In fact, most predictions made by the Codex on how the gaming industry would react to BG3 have/are becoming true... outside of Josh Sawyer's take on what made BG3 great. No one on the Codex expected anyone taking away that the jumping is what made BG3 great.

BG3 took romances from Bioware in the first place. If anything, Bioware only included full frontal nudity after seeing how BG3 had it with no negative consequences. I'm hoping whoever had to animate old man cock had a great time doing it.

Full frontal nudity.
With dicks and vags? Because if not, Witcher was first

Actually, it didn't, your DIRTY mind plays tricks on you.
Witcher 1 showed breasts & some ass, but no pussy or the pubis area at all.
Witcher 2 & 3 briefly show the pubis area in some of the scenes, but you can't see any pussy due to angles.
Thus the games have the same amount of male & female nudity - no genitalia for either is ever shown. It may feel otherwise simply because the male body was never a taboo, aside from a dick.

Really gonna take that road again? both are dumbed down RPG, Are you are part of these dumbfucks like Storyfag who believe BG1 is an hardcore RPG?
nigger
No idea why Polack subhumans are so butthurt about the sentence, the devs themselves argued that they wanted it to be like Baldur's gate in the developer interview.

I'm not questionning the fact that they succeeded at it.

Yes, it is clear you are not questioning that. Perhaps you should, though?

The same devs were saying the game would allow us to enslave nations with powerful necromancy. I have yet to see any such option in any DA game. For now, we're getting to play rock, paper, scissors with a skeleton.

This is what all tieflings should look like IMO. I use this exact picture in arguments about it
This looks like an actual demon or perhaps a half-demon. Tieflings have some remote fiendish ancestry, and therefore should not have prominent fiendish traits. Making them look as if they had is a major failure of nuDnD.

Good entertainment doesn't need to cater to a specific age group.

Kids are the only group with enough disposable time for gaming, adults with families not so much. Adults have the means, but little time.

Fantasy in general has been completely overrun by ugly women, trannies and faggots. When these retards claim that an older work is problematic because it’s too “heterosexual” you just have to accept that we live in an absolute clown world.

This is what happens when you don’t gatekeep hard enough.

But the more you gatekeep, the more they want to be included, and usually have their way because someone or something gives in.

It felt like Baldur's Gate 1 (although much easier) all over again, you can see it was the direction they were heading but then EA happened.

Trick Weekes's (LOL) involvement more or less confirms this character will be queer-coded, and will have a dick. That's probably what the "steamy" part indicates. A Crying Game scene.

No AAA so far has shown vaginas from gynecological angles, so when most people say 'pussy' they only mean full-frontal nudity like the dryad from Witcher 1 that showed tits and bush. Even the shaved pussies from Witcher 2 and 3 still count as full-fontal because you can't see what's inside.

I simply wish that their outward appearance would reflect their contemptible moral character. Despite what their clamorous advocates may claim, tieflings are good for nothing, and they are never to be trusted

In fact, most predictions made by the Codex on how the gaming industry would react to BG3 have/are becoming true.
It's not just Baldur's Gate 3. It was some other games too. In an ideal world, developers would actually engage and listen to their fans instead of enclosing themselves in a bubble. I see this happen so many times where fans post critique but it never goes anywhere - I am reminded of Deadfire where the developers hyper focused on their discord cliques instead of actual players. At most, it falls on deaf ears, at worst it gets ignored because: those people are just mean, hateful, spiteful, etc, etc, and the feedback ends up getting ignored. I feel RPGs as a whole would be so much better if feedback is listened to instead of it getting filtered away. This is one of the reasons why Triple A gaming is imploding on itself at the moment - the people who pay the developer's bills, the people who buy the product, are getting ignored, their feedback thrown into the trash. This whole apparatus of only facilitating positive feedback and filtering negative feedback has resulted in below average products with limited staying power. Negative feedback isn't a bad thing. Sometimes, negative feedback tends to hold quality feedback that you otherwise won't receive from some sycophantic fan. I wish more developers would grow some thick skin and appreciate that they're even getting feedback in the first place.

Fuck that. If you want thick skin you don't listen to feedback, you go on and move with your vision. The feedback already has to be internalized in the first place. That is to say, you are meant to be your harshest critique.

But game dev isn't strictly a creative endeavor in the first place, there are a lot of factors at play. Catering to this and that public is one thing. I don't know that grognards provide especially good critiques, they just want old shit for the sake of it. The rest is reactionary nonsense about women or something. Not a great pool of inspiration there. You think anyone will find some great design tips in this fucking thread?

A look into Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Gameplay Accessibility Options

Hey everyone!
Today, we want to share many of the Accessibility features in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Regardless of skill level or ability, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the full experience and story of our game. There are several features and settings to customize the game to meet your individual needs; so let’s dig in!
da-veilguard-accessibility-blog-difficulty-selection-screenshot.png.adapt.320w.png

First off, let’s discuss combat and the difficulty settings. During Character Creation, players can select from one of five curated difficulty levels or create a completely customized experience:
  • Storyteller
    • Here for the story.
  • Keeper
    • A balanced combat experience that emphasizes party composition and equipment choices over reaction times.
  • Adventurer
    • A balanced experience that places equal emphasis on combat, party composition, and equipment choices.
  • Underdog
    • Here to be pushed to the limit, requiring strategic planning and tactical decisions.
  • Nightmare
    • Overwhelming battles that give no quarter. Requires a mastery of combat, equipment, skills, and game mechanics to survive.
    • Selecting Nightmare cannot be undone without starting a new playthrough.
  • Unbound
    • Customize all settings.
    • Settings impact numerous aspects of gameplay. If this is your first time, consider a curated preset instead.
Even after selecting a difficulty, there are more combat options available in the Settings Menu if you wish to make further adjustments. For example, you can adjust elements like parry timing, aim assist strength, or even how aggressive enemies are. See below for a full list of combat settings.
da-veilguard-accessibility-blog-hud-options-screenshot.png.adapt.320w.png

UI and HUD elements are also customizable. Many elements of the HUD can be conditionally hidden or turned off entirely. For example, you can fully hide elements like Rook’s health, the objective tracker, or the Mini Map. There are also options for the text size in the UI.
da-veilguard-accessibility-blog-advanced-subtitles-screenshot.png.adapt.320w.png

There are some accessibility aids for interface elements. For example, subtitles are fully customizable allowing you to modify things like the size, opacity, speaker names, and color. Other settings add audio aids to visual-only elements like incoming attack indicators. For anyone with vision deficiencies, there are full-screen color filters to improve visibility.
da-veilguard-accessibility-blog-camera-effects-screenshot.png.adapt.320w.png

Beyond the UI and HUD, there are a few more options regarding the game’s visual effects. For anyone who deals with motion sickness, there is a Persistent Dot Option and Motion Blur can be fully turned off. The in-game Camera Shake can also be adjusted from 0-100%. Additionally, there’s an FOV slider in the graphical settings.
da-veilguard-accessibility-blog-ui-input-holds-screenshot.png.adapt.320w.png

As discussed in the PC Features Blog, all inputs are remappable for gameplay in Dragon Age: The Veilguard on both controller and keyboard for all platforms. Input sensitivity and deadzones are also customizable with sliding scales. There are some UI interactions that require an input to be held for a short period of time, but this can be changed to tap instead. All of these options allow you to play the game in whatever way is most comfortable.
These settings and more are available in Dragon Age: The Veilguard! See a full list below to check out all of our Accessibility settings and check out our Accessibility Portal. Chat soon!
